The saving hostages outcome is the feel-good direction, but if I'm honest, 3 lives can be seen as a relatively small price to put down a terrorist that was about to kill millions of people. It's even harder for me to reconcile letting him walk when I slaughtered his second in command for the simple fact that he's a slaver, since my Shepard had a policy of all slavers die swift deaths. |

I've always been a bit torn by that. The saving hostages outcome is the feel-good direction, but if I'm honest, 3 lives can be seen as a relatively small price to put down a terrorist that was about to kill millions of people. It's even harder for me to reconcile letting him walk when I slaughtered his second in command for the simple fact that he's a slaver, since my Shepard had a policy of all slavers die swift deaths. I'm more apt to let his second go than I am Balak himself. I mean, I feel bad for Kate, but she turned her back instead of giving you up and let Balak shoot the other guy, so while I think she's not going to enjoy dying in an explosion, she'll understand. Not that Shepard knows this, of course. I'm also of the whole, "We don't negotiate with terrorists" mindset, and I have no idea what Balak is going to do if I let him go. |

I don't play MP, so basically I couldn't care less. My theory is based entirely in reality. They already have the models, so it's an easy fit to introduce them. They don't already have the models, though. I mean, they have the art, but all the programmed models are in Unreal 4 (I think)? and MEA it's all Frostbite. I'm not sure how easy it is to transfer stuff like that between engines, but based on the Asari clone fiasco, not easy probably. It's not easy from everything that I heard. It's not like importing a photoshop file and saving it another format. In some cases you're looking at a developer having to rebuild the asset for Frostbite. I'm not a developer, so I can be completely off. |

I did it because of the hostages and in ME3, I did it for the war assets to help the greater good. Canon (neutral) colonist/Akuze Shep kills him in BDTS. My paragon colonist/Akuze Shep didn't, though. If I played an Earthborn/ruthless Shep (probably will at some point) she would kill. Never gonna play a Spacer/War Hero Shep bc I just find it boring but she would save. Not sure what I would do irl. Probably save because he has a point and there are hostages. No wait, probably kill bc of the slaver thing I forgot about. |

My theory is that Batarians were not invited to the Initiative so they started their own as a big f-u to the council races and filled it with as many undesirables who the initiative rejected but who could afford the exorbitant fees as possible.
