This whole 4-player co-op thing that BioWare is pushing lately (including Anthem and probably DA4), it's getting kinda boring and this time around- it just feels "lazy" to me. I think it could have made lore sense to add PVP competitive mp, instead of copy and paste, which wouldn't have felt "lazy". Reason: this isn't a trying to unite the galaxy against a single threat like ME3 was, which made sense for the 4 player co-op to exist. Here you could have done AI vs Exiles, Milky Way vs Kett, Angara vs Kett, or The Resistance vs Roekaar. I hope that BioWare at least considers changing up the formula for DA4 and or ME5 in 5-10 yrs.

Mostly no. Considering that Bioware has no experience on the matter, I don't want to find out. If they were to do it, I think they'd absolutely need to hire people who have worked on successful PvP games; like the guys from DICE.
As far as the game getting boring for you, I think that just stems from them not really adding NEW content.

A MP shooter wants to be either PvP OR PvE.
A space magic game with powers is not the best basis for a balanced PvP game, they are are either OP or have to be nerfed into the ground which breaks the feeling of a ME game.
Imagine you get your shields knocked out but have full health but someone uses Pull and you are now floating into the sky and unable to do anything while being open to any attack. Or you get staggered a bit and they think that power is a waste of time.
Warframe tried it and they had to re-make it as a completely separate mode with different effects and the weapons changed dramatically. Star Trek Online just based their new season with a PvP flavour to cater to the vocal minority.
In both games it is ignored by 95% of the player base.
If you want PvP play a dedicated game and leave the rest of us to enjoy what we like.

Nope. There are goddamn lot of PvP games - all Call-Of-Duties, all Battlefields, all Star-Wars-Battlefronts, all Titanfalls, even Halo and fucking Doom (where PvP dewsn't fit at all IMHO ... while co-op MP would suit from the mere logic point of view). Who wants PvP - is kinda free to go and play there.

Something simple like monsters vs people like in Singularity or Killing floor where you take turns would be fun. However, everyone would play as dogs and go humping all the other players. Comedy potential is huge.

I feel it would be the most imbalanced experience ever. With the way powers are they could never balance a pvp game around it. Destiny had a bad enough time with their powers never mind the stuff you can do in mass effect

You already have a base idea of how ME works and your applying single-player vs AI enemy mechanics to a PVP idea, which doesn't work. With a PVP senario, things would be much different, but still implementable. Using your example, such as pull, you realize there have been "pull" mechanics in video games for what 20 years now Pull in mass effect is simply a LONG exageration of Player A incapacitating Player B. Pull in a PVP setting would be much shorter, and player B would have to regain control very quickly in order to maintain balance. Shyt even better, take this for example, what are you doing while your grabbed by a breecher or adhi, you incapacitated while getting targeted by multiple enemies. Even if things were the way they are in ME now, it wouldn't be an issue, it would be that players would not just be run and gun and simply having your shields drop would be a death sentence, kind of like halo. To take it in another direction, ME could take a more MOBA approach with it being PVPandE, where a player would be more like a Berserker to where certain status effects simply don't apply or effect the players movement, and you can have raiders and observers simply be A.I. "minons" lol I should be making money off of this. :srs:

I really like the coop mode, has the urgency, the objectives, the teamwork and a degree of competitiveness that does not go overboard. So imo combines the best of raids and objective based pvp, the stuff I liked in the past, and imo is more fun than either.

I question the sanity of someone who would ask this question when this game...ME:A and how it was balanced.
I don't know that I've even seen a co op only game imbalanced before. Maybe I have but no where near to this extent. I figure it will be a long, long time before we see a ME game again.
