When the Crows bought him, he was literally a slave. The Crow training is cruel. His Fade "dream" was a torture. Ehhh... I think he was enjoying himself in that dream. Perhaps, perhaps not. What he said about the Crows, and his childhood/youth wasn't happy: as I said: the Crows bought him, and the Crow training was physically and mentally stressful, literally a torture. I think, his childhood/youth wasn't better than a slaves' life in Tevinter. When he was already a member of Crows, his life changed, because they appreciated valuable members, but still wasn't really free.

A personal confession: I like tinting Solas' armor with Lambswool. Because I can't resist making him a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I recently put Solas in an outfit that reminds me of his big wolf pelt thing later at very start of game. So it's got no color, looks really bland and poor. I named it "Ruff Stuff"

When I read The Masked Empire the relationship between The Empress and Briala obviously the interracial trope (Celene sees Briala as a fetish not her lover and friend) and Celene is a racist against the elves because of the massacre on the alienage, killed Briala's parents, and hating on Briala because of her skin color (Read chapter 2 and read the description of how it describes her skin color. And they whitewashed Briala in the game negated her description from the book! Wow!) At least they gave me a choice to kill Celene. 😂😂😂😂

I'm still incredibly salty that in DA:O I couldn't get the armor on the cover/trailers. The mods kind of help.
I hate the wings they added to the helmet of that armor set in DA2 and following. They break the aesthetic for me, thus why in DAI I use the worse helmet.
I think Isabella romances me in DA2. Even in playthroughs I made to see new content I ended up with her, had to watch the other romances on youtube.
One handed Vigilance design is awesome. One of these days I'm going to craft a replica of it. I wish it was present in DAI.
I think DA2 is better than DAI. Storywise it works better even when they beat you over the head with the mage/templar stuff.
I've never had any qualms about Carver dying, in fact, I wish I could play as a mage and have Bethany with me.
I'm always torn between kicking Sera or just ignoring her. My reasoning is that if I kick her she'll probably do something against me in spite even if I know it won't happen.
I like Vivienne? Is that something to confess about?
Solas doesn't work for me, they could tell me in an intro text in DA4 that the Warden and Hawke died killing him and I'd be a bit upset that I didn't get to see it, and that my characters died.
There's a reason I didn't include the Inquisitor above, I didn't feel attached to any of them.
I have a lot of respect for the Arishok and Sten but f*ck the Qun.
I don't care that the Inquisition is gone (kind of, sort of? could be gone completely and I wouldn't care tbh).
Having seen both sides of the mage/templar conflict I have stopped making decisions on that based on ideology but rather based on people. I like Barris so I side with the Templars, Meredith can be kind of a bitch so I side with the mages.
DA:I romances didn't do it for me, though I'd have to go with Cassandra's just for the scene with the poetry book. The Inquisitor isn't grabbing the book, it's glued to his hand and no matter how he moves pages won't move or the book get closed. I like to imagine that it's a demon that was in the book and temporarily possesed the Inquisitor forcing to say all of that. That headcanon is funny to me.
Oh and in Josephine's romance plot I wish I could leave her for the guy you have to duel. Sadly I don't remember his name but first impression was great.

I never found Cullen's crush on the warden weird or creepy, in fact I think it was cute since it seems to be the first time that he seeiously likes a female. Yet he can't act on it because of his awkwardness.
I've come to the conclusion that Solas in fact did bed Lavellan however we just never got the scene. The reason I come to this conclusion is because of what Sera says if you're with Solas and you ask of her opinion on Solas.
I feel like the jokes which Alistair makes are a way of not showcasing his insecurities and sadness.
Personally, I could never come to grips of liking Varric because whilst he seems like an alright guy, there was never anything which screamed out to me about him.

Solas has a line about bedding Levellan It's vague, and probably deliberately so. Near the end of the vanilla game, if in a romance, Lavellan can accuse Solas of "being grim and fatalistic to get [her] into bed" during one of his rants about Corfishystix meddling in powers he doesn't understand, and such. Solas' reply, one of his more entertaining lines and a call back to the first round of flirting with him, claims "I am grim and fatalistic. Getting you into bed is just an enjoyable side benefit." On the other hand, during Trespasser, he tells her "I would not lie with you under false pretenses". So it's not clear whether he meant he didn't sleep with her at all, or if he meant that even if he didn't tell her his whole past, he believes he still showed his true character when they interacted with each other. I suspect Weekes kept it unclear so that supporters of both camps could maintain their headcanons about the physicality of the relationship. Although, that all said, I disagree about Sera's line feeling like confirmation. Sera seems like the type who would accuse them of being all elfy in bed simply by adding up Solas + Relationship. That's just how she thinks.

In my last two PTs of DAO, I cheated. I used a all kill command to finish off all the mobs at every level because I found combat slow going and a chore. Away with you! Let me get on with the story. I also cheated with DA II, again with the kill command because I got tired of the horde mode and clone dungeons. Away with you! Let me get on with the story. Another cheat I also used for both is to increase the gold. DAI is the only DA game in which I finally used mods. I didn't cheat on the combat but I did use a mod to get more gold.

Back when BSN was closing, I'd only been on the forum about 4 months. I was a prolific liker and moderate poster. Because I was super into Dragon Age, and had no one to share that with outside of the forum, I relied on it pretty heavily as an outlet and so was emotionally affected when I thought the forum would disappear. There was a lot of confusion about who would go where. I saw that Solas and his fans were taking care of the elf thread and it's lore. But another group, the Dwarven group, hadn't had anyone step forward to take official responsibility for the lore in that thread- about moving it to new places. I wasn't an avid dwarven fan, had read the complaints about how dwarves were an afterthought here and there in game play, so to see that maybe they were being forgotten during all the drama of the closing made me feel like... I dunno, like those people who advocate for the less cute animals that could still go extinct. So, I stepped up, and 3 days later, combined with a few others, we scraped the thread of lore. A lot of my time was spent organizing it and formatting it to be "readable." I lost sleep over it, trying to get it done. When it got settled that this forum was to be the one the thread got officially moved to, it was decided, without me, that someone else should be the "original poster" of the thread. Someone else who'd been around longer. Someone who was a bigger fan. I was hurt, I don't care how irrational that is, but regardless, I gracefully gave over my 4 days of work to another. And I've literally never visited the thread since. Still, I grew an appreciation for Dwarves since the experience, going out of my way to make them with elaborate back stories. And when I played Descent for the first time, I honestly felt dwarfy feelings of betrayal- The memories of the Shaperate were supposed to be above reproach, in my eyes, and I felt pretty irritated that the writers had smudged their history keeping honor. And that's my confession of the day.

That is Dragon Age's shtick now. Everyone is wrong about their own history. Can I confess that I'm actually pretty annoyed about that? Like, I don't mind people getting details wrong, that's how the "fog" of time works, but for every single culture to be 100% wrong? Come on, Bioware, that's cheating so you can add whatever you want later.

Dwarven women had an incredible ass in DAO. If you've ever unequipped your dwarven Warden's armor, you know Oghren wasn't exaggerating when he told Velanna that elven/human women don't come even close.

And well, he never seemed that enjoyable as a companion to me, he has his jokes and tricks but beyond that, there's not much to him to me. I'm glad he wont be making a return because it just felt like Bioware were milking his popularity at this point

Being colourblind, the one thing that gives me most angst in the Dragon Age games is choosing the colour of my characters' eyes. I wish each option was labelled.

Could it be truly satisfying either way? If the color green is labeled as such, you may choose it but it won't look green to you. At the same time, you may choose the color that looks green, but isn't actually green. Come to think of it, if I were you I'd just go with the latter. If it looks purple to me, that's all I need.

In DA2 I've never not earned the 50 sovereigns for the expedition. Has anyone gone the other route and borrowed the coin? What happens? Second time I played I was like, "fuck it I'm buying what I want. The game will probably just give me extra things to kill and it'll all work out." Lo and behold, a shady dwarf shows up in Lowtown to offer me money for the expedition. I was a bit shocked. You mean, there wasn't a way to grind to get the money if you were a spendy pants? All that scraping and saving my first game was rewarded by nothing- in a way, not getting the money gets you a bit more content. Anyway. You just get to go on the trip anyway. Afterwards, at the mansion, the same dwarf comes to shake you down for more money, even though you paid him back already. So you throw him out and he attacks you later. Still... Much prefer the sensation of actually being poor in a game and earning my place on that trip.
