There's a lot of great games out there that just don't work for me. Peoples' taste is a funny thing. I like customization A LOT in my games. It's a stupid thing, but while I play male and female protagonists (and ridiculous things like male draenei ), I just don't seem to get into a game unless I can make my character MINE in appearance. S'part of the reason why I'm quite partial to XCOM2. I can roll up with a pretty idiosyncratic squad. And I've played some games with fixed protagonists, but they're play once and put down, as a rule. I like "fun" combat, which is one of those things that's really hard to define. I will admit my definition of fun leans heavily on very busy, fast paced combat. So I will honestly forgive Andromeda a lot just for the sheer, visceral joy of vanguard charging an architect. I like strongly written games, but if they're too serious or lean overly heavily on one aspect, I usually get bored. And I am absolutely a sucker for "Protagonist and the band of heroes", whether the heroes are the idiots* in your battleground or your loyal squadmates/minions. I HATE playing broody lonely heroes, which is odd, because I quite like them in fiction. Tastes are dumb. Especially mine. *Lovely people, actually

Witcher is overrated. Come at me MEA is better than ME2. Come at ME. No reason to. It still has the words "Mass" and "Effect" in the title.

Seems like this is a Witcher thread, so here's my take: Witcher 1 - decent enough story, gameplay was weird and took adjusting to, but I became competent fairly quickly and enjoyed the game more or less. Best parts for me was the pr0n.. Witcher 2 - decent enough story, I guess. Moar pr0n, witch is fine, but gameplay for me is absolute crap, and I have quit playing half way through for months now. I own 3, and haven't touched it, but I'm not in any hurry - I got it for free with my strix gtx970. I'm not in a hurry, frankly, because nothing is really that great. It is all just ok, for me. Meh. Because when Bioware shows tits, it's progressive. But when any other dev does it, it's pron.

This thread has a topic? You have a title mocking people who said the game was successful, a poll about a different game's DLC, and an OP about "Where is the DLC?" They haven't announced DLC yet, but historically they don't announce until a few weeks before DLC launch, and DLC usually comes out 5 months post launch, so that's end of August. So they wouldn't announce until the beginning of August. Soooo.... I guess I finished the thread? Does that mean I win?

And lets face it that sex card collection mini game in Witcher 1 was attrocious. It turned me off getting into the series for a loooonnng time. And I am not exactly a 'progressive' myself.

I could take or leave tits, TBH.
And romances in general. Not my cuppa, though they're a fun addition. I sometimes even take advantage of the option!
A DLC without tits (male or female) would be just fine by me.
I don't know anything about Blood and Wine, because I was aware of my personal taste and sort of nodded, smiled and ignored the Witcher games. But I would love to see Andromeda to get a Shadow Broker or a Leviathan. A good, standalone story that builds on previously iterated themes.

Who knows what they could do with this setting.

Who knows what they could do with this setting. There was one in the cards for DA2, but the switch to Frostbite and (probably) DA2 put an end to that. We haven't seen one since DAO, even for DAI, which was supposed to be quite successful. And Mass Effect has never had one. ...I mean, there's a first time for everything, but with all that Anthem jazz and whatnot, I can't say I EXPECT to see a huge flashy DLC for MEA.

I'm not averse to it, not at all, but a DLC that size is a budgetary beast.

Lol. Calling me a puritan is a real stretch I used pr0n. I didn't mean anything special by it, yet slimgrin you think I was making a specific slight there? I don't find Bioware's use of nudity better or worse or more progressive or anything like that. This is called imagining shit.

Geralt had three games. We'll see about Ryder. Quality ≠ quantity. TW3 alone. No offense but this is BS. Witcher 3 made geralt what he is and even though W2 was great nobody was mentioning Geralt before W3. Everybody all of a sudden is dickriding Witcther 3. Hell i love this game too but the dickriding is too much. It certainle has it;s faults. Replayability is nonexistant. My 2nd playthrough a year later was a CHORE. the dialogue is just too much the second time and many quests are mundane.

Not that there's any other kind of teenagers. W3 gets much better, and closer to the spirit of the books.

I really enjoyed Awakening. If it were feasible, then I would love the idea. A separate, standalone, adventure to explore maybe another cluster of planets and deal with a new enemy. Maybe meet some new aliens. Get a new squadmate? Hell yeah. Sadly, given the effect Anthem has had on the studio, I'd rather just get the confirmation that DLC is coming.

I'm not averse to it, not at all, but a DLC that size is a budgetary beast. Which is why it's rare. Bethesda's last "expansion" was Shivering Isles, Bioware Awakening, and of course TW3. I can't think of any other game in the last 10-15 years that took a risk on such lengthy content. Edit: I'm not counting MMOS for obvious reasons.
