Just ditch it and use the Predator instead. Great RoF. You'll love it.

Try the Sandstorm. After using it I tried blowing out my brains with it, but then had to find a better weapon to get the job done.
Only gun in ME3 that I immediately recall as having an odd feeling RoF was the Saber, but that was forgivable because it actually hit for decent damage.

I like the Carnifex. You just have to aim before shooting. It gets easier.

Unlike Andromeda were pretty much every semi auto Assault Rifle and most Pistols are hot garbage. M5-Phalanx : needs an RPM buff (from 280 to maybe 320-350) Carnifex : could use a bit of a RPM buff and a decent damage buff (rpm from 80 to 110, maybe up its damage like 10-15%) Mattock : should out damage the Valkyrie at the very least, thing is semi auto, deals almost half the damage and shoots slower. Who thought that balance through???(200 or so damage at rank I, 230-250 at X) Halberd : just make the thing like the Harrier( make the thing full auto with a 550 RPM and increase its spare ammo by a good 2-3 thermal clips) Sandstorm : simple make it like the Sabre from ME3, thing should be competing with the damage of the Inferno or Viper, with better rapid fire capability and easier targeting (400 and some change damage at I, a little over 500 at X but lower its RPM from like 220 or whatever it is to like 160, as well as an increased weak spot damage multiplier)

Who thought that balance through???(200 or so damage at rank I, 230-250 at X) Sorry, you lost me. Can you explain why the common weapon should outdamage the UR? Use small words pls. When I say out damage I specifically mean per shot, notice how I didn't mention increasing its RoF or making it more accurate or anything, I simply meant that it should deal on par damage and it should in fact deal MORE damage per shot as to stay competitive with the other weapons in the game. So could you please explain to me why rarity should factor into keeping weapons useless and wastes of card unlocks? Are you excited when you get a Mattock Bulwark or Siphon? I bet that you aren't, would you be excited if the Mattock did like 230 damage at rank X and had close to the same DPS as the Valkyrie? Maybe if semi-automatics are your thing. My point is that all weapons should be viable not just HER DER RARES AND ULTRA RARES OR NOTHING.... the fact that you even have that point of view sickens me, nah man we should totally all only be using the same like 3-4 weapons in the game and let all the other guns stay trash.

Bioware outright stated that their weapon design is for higher rarity weapons to be better than lower rarity weapons.
You can rage against it all you want but that won't get you anywhere.

The Carnifex is probably the worst of the bunch. I mean, it used to be the 2nd lowest DPS gun in the whole game. It's a piece of trash not worth using, the Predator + macro is insanely better, and that's not saying much.

I like the Carnifex. You just have to aim before shooting. It gets easier. This. Carnifex does more than enough damage to get the challenge done even when doing so through normal play. Adding a scope to try to get the challenge done is also a viable option. @ kilgh : For gun challenges, btw, I usually try the gun first and then decide what kit to use it with. If it fires slowly, power spamming comes to mind for that weapon. Alternatively, you might try slow-firing guns on Turbocharge characters and take the fire rate evo. If all else fails, solo Bronze with the gun (do this anyhow from 80%+). Good example for this, imho, is aforesaid Sandstorm: that's one of the guns I'll most likely solo Bronze with most... #hopethishelps

The problem isn't how slow it is, the problem is that it's inconsistent. Theoretically, if you pull the trigger with a weapon as fast as you can consistently, you will always have the same ROF. It fluctuates with that weapon. They still didn't fix the ROF glitch with single shot semi autos.

It fluctuates with that weapon. They still didn't fix the ROF glitch with single shot semi autos. That's true, and this gun particularly feels off. The recoil animation and the feeling when you fire it doesn't translate in that super long re-fire delay, the RoF feels forced in this gun. It's not natural like it was in ME2 in which the gun had a pretty consistent kick and by the time you corrected your aim back again you could fire another round, it was predictable.

My condolences on your weak constitution. I hate to be the guy on the forum that whips out the logical fallacy card, but Jesus dude -- straw man much? False dichotomy? First of all, I never said that only rares and URs are usable, nor do I in any way agree with that statement. Just last night I used the Ruzad, Cyclone, and Disciple. None of them handicapped me significantly. A couple of the lower-rarity guns, like the Mattock, suck fiendtits. I don't particularly have a problem with that, so long as I still have dozens of other options. You're acting like there's no middle ground between extreme states in which either: 1) all weapons are perfectly balanced; or 2) those that aren't among the very best are unusable. That's both wrong and silly. *Most* commons are outperformed by *most* rares, which are in turn outperformed by *most* URs. That's the whole point of the rarity hierarchy. Doesn't mean you have to - or should - use nothing but the Dhan or Hurricane on everything.

Can't decide if Vorcha or Volus would be funnier for the gun crew.
