I don't have work so I was able to produce two pages of my work in two days!

Wow  I wish I could be you. But I have problems with spelling things correctly, leaving me for days to search for unforeseen errors in my work.  And also because my story takes along time to write too (It's usually 3,000 words per session or the likes...)

Hasn't everyone? It's an artificial structure that is somewhat independent of what you naturally learn as spoken language, you learn to instinctively use it and remember how to say things, but understanding why it works that way and how the system works that was built out of it and around it is an entirely different matter. Well worth the time invested to learn it properly, though! Things just make a lot more sense if you do that, including not having to rely on unreliable spellchecks - and it will greatly improve how much quality stuff you can put out in a reasonable amount of time.
I really hate that. I know it's a good tool to have, especially if someone doesn't have a good grasp of spelling or grammar, but I usually turn the grammar check off before I even begin and treat every red underline with a pinch of salt. It's not always nonsense... but then a large percentage of the time it is.
You know, everyone has their own pace, don't be discouraged. Also, the more you write the smoother the process will go, you'll retain the correct spelling more and more of words you use on a regular basis so long as you pay attention to it, but the important thing is that by the end you should have a finished product that you are satisfied with; speed doesn't necessarily equal quality, but practice does equal speed, if you know what I mean. I write a lot more and very fast, but I've been writing almost nonstop for 15+ years, I learned how to type blind by myself and I studied English thoroughly in high school and it was my major at university, it takes time and effort to build that, though; you've got to start somewhere, set yourself writing goals and push yourself a little when you can to surpass your goals a little each time. Before you know it, you'll be up to speed.
Go for the better story. You can always redesign romances and details like that, but if the story isn't the best you can give, it's not worth spending effort on - only ever write your best ideas, all other ideas are just distractions that take away from your best work. Also, if you feel obligated then it's not clicking to begin with and that's going to show in your writing. That's the way it goes with writing, sometimes the best thing you can do is let go of ideas even if you really like them - the integrity of your work has to come before such preferences, if it's not working, it's just not working.

Ahh, those pesky ideas.

I could do with some right now, I'm just staring at a blank screen today.   Don't really feel like doing the editing I slated for today, either... but I gotta do it sometime, the book won't edit itself, much as I'd enjoy that right now.

Right now I'm beating myself up to work on my finished manuscript so I can send it out to publishers again, I finished it years ago and it's been gathering dust since then pretty much. I mean literally all I have to do is run through it, fix any mistakes I find, cut out as much frill as I can to reduce the word count but otherwise all the hard work was done ages ago - I just so don't feel like actually doing any of that right now. Maybe if I had more coffee I'd change my mind. Or maybe I'm approaching it wrong, maybe I should just read through the whole thing and do nitpick edits later once I've refreshed the story in my mind...

That always works, hahaha. I think I'm trying too hard - this MS has been kind of a love-hate piece for me since its conception so many years ago; I like a lot of elements in it, I like how I developed some of those ideas in particular, but then there are some things that I just feel like I should do better somehow... maybe I'm just putting too much pressure on this, trying to make it into a masterpiece by changing it radically, but unintentionally going against the grain again and again. It's like weaving a tapestry and unraveling it every time I reach the same row. 

Well, can you still go back and edit? It's never too late until it's posted...

Maybe if I printed this out and took it somewhere nice... that might spur me into action better than staring at a monitor, but the thing is, now is when I have time and opportunity to do it. I have actually made a few pages of progress, but I still have 256 pages to go...  :gasp:

 Reconstruct...? Often times I find my second attempt after losing something turns out much better. Or, alternatively, just fill in the blanks you're missing! You said you have no build up, can you retroactively add some?

I got that. Although, if you haven't closed the document since then you can just copy out what you've got for safe keeping into a fresh document and just hit undo until all your original text is restored... I'm a little manic about creating multiple saves of different versions I write in different places exactly so I don't have this kind of situation, but sometimes it happens. I also had a hard drive melt on me one time and I lost a very good piece I'd been working on for months and months, I had to totally rewrite almost three quarters of it - really hated that experience.

As much as I dislike guest reviews on FFN as you can't PM the person who gave the review. They do occasionally prove useful. This is a guest review I just got...

Something I've been wondering since the original rendition of this story. Will you be doing the other prequels and the clone wars, if you cover them, as separate stories, or just as one massive story?

They ask a very good question and I really don't have an answer... Ah the joys of an off the wall idea proving far more successful that you had thought...

Ignore that other thing, tbh. My browser sometimes ends up on other pages, lol.

^ When I read the reviews for my fanfic, I would consider the opinions / suggestions if they're offered. However, I go along the path I've envisioned and rarely change course unless I find the premise not workable / plausible after self editing / self review.
