Human Soldier Plat Build
Of all of the classes that I've played in Platinum, I have found the common Human Soldier to be one of the best in terms of raw sustained DPS against all factions. While the kit offers little in terms of utility, when teamed up with a Stealth class for objectives, and/or a Debuffing class like the Operator or Batarian Scrapper, the Human Soldier can demolish entire waves with his combination of weapon and power damage. While he is often unfavorably compared to his Turian counterpart, the Human Soldier has one massive advantage in having a power cell based armor nuke and stagger.
Weapons
This build can use any high DPS weapon (being a primarily weapons platform build), but works particularly well with a full auto Siphon weapon. However, with the current version of the game not allowing most weapon variants to prime normally, Siphon Assault Rifles are the only weapons that currently work, e.g. Revenant (Siphon), Cyclone (Siphon). Once the weapon variant priming bug is fixed on BW's end, weapons like the Hurricane (Siphon) will become the top choice.
I also like to equip a Reegar Carbine for my second weapon for taking down Destroyer shields.
Equipment I like the Warfighter package for this build (10% gun damage and 20% combat power damage) because your total damage output will be a pretty even split between your weapon and concussive shot. Assault Rifle Amp (or whatever weapon Amp) and Enhanced Munitions are also really good choices.
Boosters Ammo Powers aren't required, but they drastically improve your performance in Platinum games. Disruptor Ammo is the safest and most versatile choice. Its stun will eliminate the need for a stagger, and allow you to save Concussive Shots for detonations, while also allowing you to prime any target regardless of Shields and Armor. Plus, it's bugged with the Reegar Carbine and makes you a Destroyer killing machine. Incendiary Ammo makes you an even better armor killer (fire explosions + Concussive Shot makes short work of Berserkers). Cryo Ammo is my least favorite, but it does allow you to take advantage of Repeat Concussion's knockdown damage bonus (which really isn't useful because they'll die to the Concussive Shot damage anyway).
For the second booster, I would take an Assault Rifle or Combat Power booster (I haven't done the math, so I don't know which one will be more damage overall).
Build
I leave frag grenades at one point, and go 6 into everything else.
Turbocharge
Turbocharge is an interesting ability where there isn't one clear upgrade path. The spec should always change based on what weapon you are using. Personally, I use a Revenant (Siphon) so I spec it as follows: Recharge / Accuracy / Supercharge.
Why Recharge over Duration? If you were to pop TC immediately every time it is off cooldown, Duration would provide a higher average uptime. However, my reasoning for Recharge combines 2 things: Revenant's extremely high clip size (with magazine mod you carry ~105 bullets in a magazine) and its relatively slow reload.
Why Accuracy over Damage and Force. Even after the bloom and accuracy buffs to full auto weapons, Revenant's effective range (without any accuracy buffs) is limited to ~20-25 meters. That's fine for most engagements, but when you're up against a group of 3 observers across the map, you need some kind of accuracy bump to take them all down in 1 clip + 1 TC reload. However, I only take Accuracy in Turbocharge if I go Sustained Fire in Munitions Training, whereas I would use Damage and Force if I went Precision.
With Platinum, Supercharge should always be the default choice for rank 6 with the exception of certain weapons (like Thokin).
Concussive Shot
With 40% more power damage and combo damage from veteran ranks, Concussive Shot becomes a monstrously powerful nuke. The EVOs should go Repeat Concussion / Damage and Force / Anti-Armor. I don't think I need to justify any of those choices. Combined with the power damage bonuses from Munitions training and Warfighter package, each Concussive Shot deals 2k+ damage BY ITSELF.
Munitions Training
EVOs should go Powers and Melee / Weapon Efficiency / Sustained Fire. I decided to go with Powers and Melee because 20% more Concussive Shot damage and another power cell seemed better than 8% more weapon damage, but that comes down to personal preference. Weapon efficiency is an obvious choice for a weapon platform build. Sustained Fire is an amazing skill for teamplay, and obviously synergizes well with the full-auto weapons that this build uses. Going with Precision would also work (especially for Headshot modifier Apex missions), and would allow you to take Damage and Force for Turbocharge Rank 5.
Combat Fitness
All defensive options here.
I'll try to upload a video later tonight, but the gameplay is extremely straightforward. Shoot things with your gun, detonate all the things with Concussive shot, use Turbocharge whenever you need a quick weapon reload (with Revenant's 105 round clip, you'll find yourself being able to TC almost every time you empty your clip mid-combat).

I love the turbocharge-less build. Armor nades. Double dip on power capacity and turbocharge at 1 rank still gives you a lot of utility. Power capacity, priming ammo, warfighter, hurricane. Having 9 armor smashing frags is way more useful to me than extra points in turbocharge. I mean, you already have sustained fire.
You also need to be perceptive of what you detonate. A blaze hydra that was just frozen at full health should NOT get a concussive hot. You are removing the debuff at the expense of a cryo combo...your gun with sustained fire for a bit then a concussive shot for a combo finisher is the better option..

If I have to take him into Platinum.. I would skip on Turbocharge myself. TC recharge speed is just unbearable. Furthermore, Aiming is just painful in this game... unless you are on PC holding mouse.

Turbocharge and have two shots to fire...thats with dump heat. I find frag spam a no brainer on platinum.

I wouldn't play the Human soldier without Turbocharge. TC recharge speed is just unbearable. I know, that's annoying, but Expert package helps a lot.

That does very good job. TC still boosts damage and refill clip.. and combine this with weakpoint damage or debuff.. it`s still really really good.

I tried the pure power based build first while leaving TC as a dump skill, and the potential damage output is definitely higher. The damage is definitely a lot more spikey. But i'm pretty bad at landing good frag grenades (almost as bad as my sniping), so the build also shores up some of my own weaknesses as a player. The other benefit of TC is that it also supercharges your Siphon health steal. If you're about to die, and you pop TC against a Berserker or Hydra, you can tank pretty much anything while holding down the trigger and still regen back to full health. It makes the Human Soldier amazingly more durable on Plat.

TC saved my ass many times by quickly taking out Destroyer turrets when I'm cornered.

That's about what I run on Plat for a Soldier, too. The soldier twins are very solid, indeed. You mention Revenant - have you played with it recently? Last time I tried it, it arguably sucked ass but it was at 3 then and it was a long time ago so maybe it was buffed to usefulness. I love the Turbochargeless build and I run it on Gold but I feel that Turbocharge is too good to skip on Plat. Also I, too, am part of the frag grenade noob squad and I never seem to land them appropriately. Admittedly, that's user error on my part but what can ya do. You also need to be perceptive of what you detonate. A blaze hydra that was just frozen at full health should NOT get a concussive hot. You are removing the debuff at the expense of a cryo combo...your gun with sustained fire for a bit then a concussive shot for a combo finisher is the better option.. I had that issue yesterday with my BatBro. Everyone was detonating Snap Freeze immediately on Plat and I was like "Nooooo, my debuff".

Haven't tried the soldier on platinum yet. Seems like turbocharge/frag grenades build (with 1-pointer concussive shot for detonations) is the hipster option then? I mean, it doesn't matter on gold since 'nade spam wrecks shit, and turbocharge wrecks shit even more. Might have to try out concussive shot on plat.

Maybe it's harder with a controller, but with the mouse you can get pretty good with Frag Grenade after a few matches. And I'm far from what I would consider a skilled player, I just look at the game mechanics and find ways to take advantage of them.
The grenade bounces too much or fly by the enemy? Target the floor or a wall to reduce the bouncing, the great radius will take care of the rest. You'll get the hang of it pretty fast.
You really don't need Turbocharge to take advantage of Siphon on Platinum. As weird as it may sound, an old Cyclone Siphon 1 is great at keeping you alive. Of course, a nice Reegar Carbine Siphon would work better but it's surprising how much the Cyclone works well.
I've been running Turbocharge rank 1 on Platinum since day 1 (of Platinum of course!) and I don't see why people would ever take Turbocharge over Frag Grenade or Concussive Shot. Turbocharge does its job at rank 1, you won't ever match spamming 3 Frag Grenade in 3 seconds with your weapon.
But as I said, if it's too hard with the controller then there's no point in going Turbocharge rank 1. The important thing is to be able to kill fast, no matter the method.

Another thing peeps should get the hang of pretty fast: try holding the grenade button for a while before letting go. Once comfortable with that, you can easily hit Observers with 'em, for instance...

I'm just happy there are multiple threads talking about builds for platinum that don't have stealth. I'm really hoping people progress past this stealth crutch. One guy per party to help with rezzes and objectives. I actually had a fairly disastrous run yesterday where all 4 people were running stealth characters. Since no one was holding aggro, the enemies wouldn't budge from objectives even when we were making sure to cloak outside of the objective.

I was doing all kind of crazy moves to avoid my teammates because I didn't want to damage them, because I was still stuck with the first impression I had 150 hours ago... Now that I know Frag Grenade doesn't damage my teammates, I spam it and got the hang of it pretty fast. But I think Bioware is greatly responsible for Frag Grenade being shunned by people. It's the only power that can damage yourself, WTF were they thinking? Imagine how good it could be if you could just hold the Grenade in your hand for AOE damage without damaging yourself!!! ME3 grenades never damaged you, Trip Mine doesn't damage you, Sticky Grenades doesn't damage you, WTF Frag Grenades do?

I suppose its situational. I play in parties a lot and we funnel enemies. Frag grenade spam is awesome. If I were running around I could see the utility of turbocharge but cooking them is an option as well.

I suppose its situational. I play in parties a lot and we funnel enemies. Frag grenade spam is awesome. If I were running around I could see the utility of turbocharge but cooking them is an option as well. i usually play in parties too, but i personally don't like sticking together as a group. i'm just not much of a team player, unless i'm playing a support class like operator or a debuffer like batbro. so i'm always looking for builds that will allow me to be effective while also running around doing my own thing separate from everyone else.

At rank X the Revenant deals very good damage as long as all of its bullets hit. Before 1.08 it had a REALLY severe reticle bloom, reducing its effective unbuffed range to around 5 meters (effectively shotgun range). accuracy skills like precision and power armor helped, but not enough. ever since the buff to full auto reticle bloom, the revenant is effective at all ranges, even on non weapon builds. that being said, hurricane is essentially a better version in almost every way.

Why is that smilie called 'crying'? What I am going for here is 'Uhh, have you read what you actually wrote?' Saying the Human Soldier is good "when teamed up with a Stealth class... and a Debuffing class" is like saying a sugary cereal is part of a balanced breakfast when teamed up with milk, juice, and toast.

It makes perfect sense. Its a coop. Every party I play in brings one angara avenger. I once subbed in as a huntress just to screw around with her but you should always bring in a grid. Then you want some raw DPS and debuff/support on a team. The soldier is perfect for tanky raw dps component. He is not a solo build. Its a coop game. The problem is, if you are off doing your own thing you don't benefit from the debuff/support and shield boosting...and enemies don't bunch as much for frags. The other problem is if you are keen on extracting, bringing him to a PUG lobby is dangerous...

I also do 1 point TC. Armor damage cshot is amazing. Wish I could pick it up on Batarian. I score as high with HS as I do with any other platinum power class.

Another thing peeps should get the hang of pretty fast: try holding the grenade button for a while before letting go. Once comfortable with that, you can easily hit Observers with 'em, for instance... I think Bioware is responsible for this, big time! First time I used Frag Grenade, it exploded in my hands and damaged me. Solution? Didn't use Frag Grenade for the next 150 hours of play... When Platinum dropped, I started to try Frag Grenade again. I had a similar experience with frags in the beginning. I held a grenade and got grabbed by a dog, you'd think that would cancel the grenade, but it didn't. It dropped by my feet and almost killed me. But you guys made a good case for the frags, I'll give it a try on my alt hsol. thanks for sharing the knowledge.
