A nice video, but I have to disagree that all the aliens looked great. The Turians looked like mimes without texture or shading. Some of the background krogan also needed work. Nevermind the Asari thing. But I do agree that this is a good time for people to pick up the game. It's in much better shape and it's on sale. Also, it's a good game!

And if someone has the patience to wait this long, then I'd suggest just waiting another few months to see if the game will get any DLC or further patches.

Yes, it is your prerogative.  It's my prerogative not to trust any of the gaming media as far as I could throw them all at once.  They are an "old boy's cesspool network" of rampant speculation and very few facts that are only interesting in convincing others to match their own opinions rather than reporting the facts or actual real news... all IMHO, of course.

I actually thought the first hour of the game was good. Habitat 7 was a great planet, from the look, to the weather effects, it looked and felt like you were actually in a new galaxy. It also had probably the best character on the game in Alec Ryder.

But my issue with this video is that it acts like bugs and animations were the games biggest problems, and now that they've been patched everything is hunky dory.

The statement that all the game's issues are in the first hour is kind of ridiculous. I don't see how even someone who really enjoyed the game could say something like that.

I could also say the same for major American political TV news outlets PBS, ABC, CBS, NBC/MSNBC, CNN, and Fox, but that is another topic. Right?

If I had to give a single digit rating to MEA, it would have been a 7/10. (Lower than any previous ME, even ME1 would have gotten 8 in its time. 8-10 for MET, and I accept 6-9 for MEA reviews.)

Today? Still a 7. But with the patches and updates, a lighter 7. A 'okay this wouldn't be such a disappointment if it released like this' 7. A 'come on, give me the push to give it an 8' 7.

I felt particularly disappointed that I couldn't suggest my boyfriend or other friends to play MEA at release unless they were super into the idea. The actual views of friend players of MEA ranged from hate-it to love-it - in particular a friend of mine who disliked ME3 ending and its DLC method ending up telling me he loved MEA - but personally I felt resentful that I didn't consider launch-MEA of high quality enough to push it to others. A first for my experience with Bioware, as I half-skipped out on DAO-DA2 so I just had my love for KOTOR, JE, MET to work with (yay!) and I didn't include SWTOR in this aspect. Its like, damn, well, first Mass Effect game I just will try to enjoy on my own I guess?

With the updates, yes its at more of an expected release state, and a discounted price, that it indeed is enough for me to start giving people the thumbs up when they ask me whether they should play it. Finally.

It does have quality. When the soundtrack is made clearer (seems recent patch might have modified this?), its one I find mostly enjoyable. When things are really animated, they're better animated than ever. The story, dialogue issues are not as bad as a Smudboy may (almost always) put it, but just aren't particularly awesome, or especially the improvement I hoped for after ME3. I'm enjoying the journey more after these patches and optimizations (which I hope are not finished yet) - Eos vault this NG+ Insanity run was the most fun vault I've done yet, even though I've already done it months ago.

I think Bioware had some awareness. Lots of script of 'first faltering steps' becoming something greater. I'm in for that 'greater', but I'm more hesitant than in any previous ME game and I'm unsure whether the form of that 'greater' will be something I'm really looking for, as I've seen signs of good (even things that suggest to me that some of my craziest story ideas may have at least some truth to them) and signs of bad.

But yes, I'm glad that the last few months have upped ME.....okay hold the phone, just saw that Casey Hudson is returning to Bioware. FORGET THIS, SEE THE NEWSSSS.

Look unless some one is literally holding a loaded to your head telling you to buy a video game or watch a youtube video you are free not to buy said video game or not watch youtube video.

I posted this because I wanted to show a different point of view and I didn't want to use a video from the usual suspects (IE BioFan, Minius GC, Lady Insanity, BioWare Follower, and etc) because of their "bias", perceived or not, right or wrong, and regardless if I agree it or not. Believe me I know BioWare Follower has a few similar videos on their channel.

I wanted a fresh perspective from someone that I've never heard of before and then I found it. I found this video quite by accident and thought there was some interesting points raised in it.

Also I'm extremely sick and tied of people like suikoden and Majestic Jazz always pimping the anti-ME:A videos and articles. This is too show people that there are people out there who love ME:A and aren't ashamed or scared to admit it. Maybe I'll post some more pro-ME:A videos from the usual suspects and maybe some more new voices.

Download all the patches and try it out, you might be pleasantly surprised.
