It worked before, and I have tried keeping it at default keybind as well. I can bind it to Ctrl, but the thing is, it's not just PPT that does not work, the microphone in the game does not pick the voice even if I have set up to "Always On". I will rebind it to the same Ctrl it has in Origins, but my feeling is it's not the bind, it's some obscure setting somewhere I messed up when I tried to fix echo. My troubles started with the last time Drivers got updated, when I lost the headset sound altogether (and yes, I turned off and unplugged backup speakers). When I got it back, I got echo, fixed that, then the voice got lost altogether. Anyway, makes me more determined to buy a console next time I am shopping for a gaming set-up. (sigh) it sucks. I'm aware you already said so, but your mic does work in other environments, like the windows desktop, Origin itself, Steam? That's correct, in testing environments, the voice is detected (and recorded) in both windows and Origins. I do not use Steam, and uninstalled all 3rd party VoIP. |

I found myself honestly wondering how a thread about a malfunctioning mic could reach 4 pages, but now that I've seen the tangents, it has revealed itself as a true MP thread! Yep. Origin's own chat recognizes the device and responds to the vocal input from the headset. It's in game only where the sound does not get picked up, despite it seeing the Realtek. Gremlins.... Just an honest question because I haven't got around to testing/using my microphone yet: How can one tell that the microphone does or doesn't work in-game? Are you supposed to hear yourself talking? Oh, I pretty much decided that the next gaming set up is going to be a console. My PC is still rather mighty, but it's the last one. I only use it for gaming, and everything Bio makes is cross-platform now. And it really sucks that I can't play HZD. I am saving my peer-reward points at work to get free PS4  Another two years....

I've had several expensive gaming headphones with 3mm broken but the cheap Logitech USB headset just wouldn't quit. If you have any USB headphones around you can give them a try? Grasping at straws here.

But yes, Horizon Zero Dawn: marvelous trailer, gorgeous graphics. And, to top it all off, it was made by a Dutch studio! So imaging a Dutch guy like me (and I'm guessing Transcended One as well) watching that trailer and thinking "Wow, I'm definitely going to have to play this!" So, by the end of the trailer I'm filled with a newly ignited sense of national pride, only to find out they made it for.., console... :gasp: |

But it didn't surprise me much that the next Guerilla Game (from Killzone e.a.) was to be a PlayStation exclusive. On the other hand I believe platform-exclusives are so 'last decennium', so it did surprise me just a wee bit. But then, I had no clue Killzone was PS exclusive. I mean, I knew the title but that's it. I realise it's all logical, Guerilla Games having become a Sony subsidiary and how that's about getting the financing for large-scale projects, which a small studio could never cough up by itself. But why couldn't have they been taken over by EA?! :sob: I mean, we - us - could have played HZD together, you could have finally gotten into redheads and HZD would have had a comfortably large pool of colorful guns...  |

I think the number of consoles surpasses the number of gaming PCs/laptops these days. It would stand to reason as well: consoles cost up to USD 500 (or so?), whereas computers and laptop start around USD 1,500 if you want something that'll give you and edge, especially if we're talking laptops. With regard to changing appearances in-game: I absolutely adore that as a feature in games but Bioware doesn't exactly have a good reputation in that respect, imho... |

Yeah I would have liked to customize her appearance too, because I don't really like her face (I actually don't mind the hair color that much 😉). I don't like default Sara's face, so I customized, same goes for default femshep. I would have loved to play The Witcher 3 with a female Geralt for example 😝. |

On the other hand, I think this would be an awkward experience... Haha, you see the adult content error, don't you? I hadn't realised since I'm logged into the Nexus automatically. Strange though, since - as far as I can see - the mod doesn't contain any adult stuff. It's a mod that enables you to play as a woman (or another male Geralt). Luckily, or unluckily, W3 does not appeal to me, so not being able to customize the main character doesn't matter, but HZD unavailability and rigidity bugs me.
