CDPR has one tiny problem for me. Lack of replayability. BW will always win! I guess you never played TW2. At a certain point in the game, you make a choice and depending on that choice, you experience a narrative that is totally different from the other narrative had you made the other choice. Which only one actually has substantial impact on TW3. Still, that is two runs max for a game with limited customisation and very little roleplaying variance. Haven't run into a Bioware game I've only played twice.

I just stated in an above post that I did. It's my favorite game of the series, but I only played through it for both paths and then never again. Same here. I played through the TW2 twice, once for each narrative path, and haven't touched the game since. There's no need to.

It's like a Choose Your Own Adventure story, but no matter how many times your read it, it won't change what's already written. The good ending or the bad ending. Andromeda isn't any different - it's pretty on rails till everyone gets the same ending. Yes but getting there is the fun part! There's a different sex to choose, different outcomes to certain missions that will likely affect any sequel made, there's different romances, different people to choose as leaders, you can kill or save people, you can do LM's anytime you want and form your own story, then play again and make a new story. I recently did a playthrough where my emotional/logical Sara who loved her father, was seeking her true love. She tried a fling with PeeBee, then fell for Reyes who she felt betrayed her, so she ended it. Liam offered her one night of sex since both were lonely and seeking comfort and without any pressure for more, and then she realized Jaal had been the one who was always by her side, so she fell for him and they ended up together. Next time I played, my Sara was not close to her father, was very professional and refused to show emotion. She would not flirt or romance anyone and she got the job done, consequences be damned. As long as it helped the Initiative, she would do it. Another time I had a Sara who loved her father, but felt she was not worthy as a Pathfinder. She stumbled through touch choices, tried to joke at the worst times, drove Addison crazy and fell in love with Vetra, who made her feel grounded and safe, and then she started to open up and become more emotional when dealing with situations. That's how I play BW games.

Andromeda isn't any different - it's pretty on rails till everyone gets the same ending. If the goal is to set up the new setting and all these characters, that's kind of the best approach anyway. That's basically what happened with Mass Effect. There was the silly human council ending, but the next game rightly corrected that nonsense. Other than that, it was always the same outcome.

You should have seen my Solas romance haha my elf loved Solas, but also felt drawn to Cullen, so sometimes she would show her feelings for both, though she knew her heart belonged to Solas. It was one of my fav playthroughs ever!

It did, however, make Trespasser far more interesting.

We're not even talking about just characterization. We're also talking about inserting the character's personality and beliefs into the character and the ability to make choices based on how we role play our created character. Geralt is a character based off a book series and already has an established personality, tastes and world views so roleplaying for some can be difficult which is why they gravitate towards Bioware games.

I think I went overboard with my Oblivion and Skyrim playhroughs too. I just couldn't stop creating new stories to RP! smilesja I think you hit the nail on the head! Geralt is already created.

Also this is my precious game list! Everything is uninstalled but MEA right now, but I completed all of them last year and early this year, waiting for MEA to launch (DA2 is on an old account). On Steam I have Oblivion and Skyrim, also completed. This is my insane love for MEA haha but I haven't played recently because I am recovering from a migraine. Alas nothing could top DAI with all its DLC, however TW3 just didn't do it for me.

I'll never for the life of me understand this rivalry between Bioware fans and CDPR fans. I think it largely stems from when TW3 was released and then compared to DA:I, causing the general online perception to be that DA:I sucks and is overrated while TW3 is the new standard-bearer of RPGs. Shitposting ensued.

Which only one actually has substantial impact on TW3. Still, that is two runs max for a game with limited customisation and very little roleplaying variance. Haven't run into a Bioware game I've only played twice. i've played da 2 twice but then quite enjoy it and am planning on a third soon. While my current playthrough of the witcher 3 (my second) Will probably be my last.

I'll never for the life of me understand this rivalry between Bioware fans and CDPR fans. A segment of cdpr fans started running their mouths about bioware and their fans about 6 or 7 years ago. They were ex bioware fans that thought they were being cool and edgy by hating bioware. This was around the time when bioware started taking a more action oriented approach in their games.

These were the same "edgelords" (nods at Andrew) shooting their mouths off at PAX South.
