Interesting tidbit also from VG Chartz: www.vgchartz.com/platform/68/xbox-one/Top-Selling Xbox One Games (all figures in millions of units sold through since launch. Mass Effect: Andromeda is 91st on the list at . Mass Effect 1, 2 or 3, don't make the list. Dragon Age: Inquisition is 59th. Take it for what you will. Given that the OT was on last gen consoles, how does this apply? Edit: Ninja'd

Noticed on the list for the PS4, Andromeda is a little lower at 97th, but with nearly 2X the number of units sold. I'm not sure whether the Xbox one sales though account for the digital downloads through the Xbox Live Marketplace - which is probably where most of them are purchased these days.

I get what you are trying to say with this point, but I don't think it's the best comparison to change suikoden 's mind (assuming that is even a remote possibility, lul. ) In essence, we are comparing apples and oranges here.

IF that is true, when you know that 27 dollars from the 60 dollars sales goes to the publisher. gamerant.com/video-game-prices-breakdown-514/well I would say it would have needed 3.7 millions to break even and recup the budget , from what I remember, it solded 3.5 millions a long time ago.

The Mass Effect series being shelved and the team scattered to the winds is all you need. Not PS4 sales charts.

While I'm inclined to believe this number more than the $40m one, take it with a grain of salt. Like I said previously, TR had an estimated budget of $100m and needed to sell 5m copies to break-even. Even Aaryn Flynn in the article is mentioned as saying he believed the game would sell at least 5m copies, what could be interpreted as the game needing to sell 5m copies minimum. This is all pure speculation to be sure and I'm left with the nagging doubt of whether the article uses Canadian or US dollars. I mean, $80 retail price?

I think that might be skewed by mobile games - which are included in that figure. I'd be surprised, for instance, if there were many players that chose to download a 42gb game to their consoles in lieu of owning the physical disc. On PC, sure, digital rules - but Mass Effect has always sold more on consoles according to data for the trilogy. And with which data are you using for saying that the trilogy was more popular on console? And you yes they are many more people willing to download instead of having to drive to the store and to buy it themselves way more easy to do it from your house. I bought MET from the Playstation Store - all digital. Actually, I've probably purchased more console games digitally than on disc.

You're part of the 33% then representing full-game digital downloads from EA in 2017.

I mean, $80 retail price? it could be interpreted as that, but might not, take them also with a great of salt. Also estimation are not about how much it needs to recup the budget but their estimation for profit. Executive don't look at the money they can make to not lose money, they are looking for profits. So when they have an estimation it would be surprising if its just to break even. And indeed its probably 100 million canadian dollars, which would mean it costed roughly 80 million american dollars. Because here in canada, games are sold for 80 dollars at release
