All one needs to remember is what EA has done in the past with the various companies they bought up and their fate.

Actually, ME:A is mentioned twice in the prepared statements which happens prior to the Q&A...an answer which I've supplied at least twice to you because you keep repeating the same fucking lie over and over again. Barely - they lumped it in with other games to prop up it's perceived value in one mention, and in the other, they're carrying over ME:A sales numbers to Q1 instead of Q4 (probably because it sold so poorly in Q4, imo). Hardly an emphasis for it's only AAA game of the quarter. Ah. So you'll admit you'll lie about it. Good for you. As for the carry over it was for the Premium Edition which didn't even include the game. They didn't have inventory to meet the demand so orders filled after the end of the FY are claimed in the next fiscal quarter.

Better put all of this in the new thread made by suido, he has made a thread just for that... Best way to cull trolls is to let their posts go unread and un-responded to. Sigh - I really wish they would forcibly combine his threads so they at least restrict him to one thread a day.

I could be wrong since I am just an armchair accountant, but with the Super Deluxe Edition (sigh, still think it is a silly name) they were giving out a premium pack once a week for 20 weeks, so they might have to finish allocating them before being able to claim that revenue.

The Premium Pack they mention in the investors call was a physical package that included a backpack, art book, RC car and some coffee table book...but no game. It was selling right for $200 at game release. A package, FYI, I found completely freaking ridiculous.

No, you've just interpreted those results incorrectly. The 33% is in relation to full-game downloads, aka ME:A - where you're lumping all digital sales together - aka micro transactions in games like FIFA Ultimate Team. Nope, the full downloads were console downloads, stated later in the report. They do not include PC downloads. Quite obviously, the digital market makes up a larger percentage than you think it does. "In fact, EA expects that by the end of this year, a whopping 40 per cent of game sales will be digital. “The consumer is shifting faster than we know or we expected,” CFO Blake Jorgensen admitted during an earnings call overnight, where he revealed that 33 per cent of his organisation’s sales from the fiscal year that’s just finished came via full game downloads." That's from May 2017 - so unless you've got information EA's CFO doesn't have, you're wrong and have interpreted the numbers incorrectly.

Or he just forgot that in their own report digital sales make up 61% of their net profit. The 33% figure, again, is console downloads, which makes sense, really. Consoles as of yet do not have hard drives comparable in size to the average PC. Total net sales for the year were $4.9 billion, a record. Digital net sales accounted for 61% of this, up 6 percentage points year-on-year.Full game download added $192 million in net sales for the quarter, up 43% year-on-year. For fiscal 2017, for the current generation of consoles, full game downloads accounted for 33% of unit sales to consumers, considerably ahead of the 29% we have forecast and 9 percentage points up year-on-year.finance.yahoo.com/news/edited-transcript-ea-earnings-conference-022737730.html

The speculation on this issue is starting to get tedious.
We know (thanks to ea) that the game sold well. And they have the actual numbers to know if the game sold well or not. Those are the facts on the ground. Now based on this fact we can.assume three things.
1. That they are lying.
2. They are being 'vague'
3. They are telling the truth.
I choose to believe the latter...the whole innocent until proven guilty thing. And until there is a smoking gun contradicting this info it seems the most likely outcome.

But i bet had it not sold (and was reviewed) well EAs word choice in the earnings call would be veeeerrreyyyy different.

As mentioned before, Dead Space 3 got DLC. Well, considering that DS3 was released on February 5th and that Awakened was released on March 12th, one could make the case that the DLC was already in development (I doubt they could've made that DLC in under a month and had it pass QA too) or even close to completion. EDIT: Apparently, they had indeed been working on the DLC several months before release. Source
