We know perfectly well that, for a variety of reasons and no matter how much they'd like to, the developers of ME:A can't discuss future content. They can't discuss future SP content, they can't discuss future MP content — even stuff that players are aware of is coming through datamining. They've said that numerous times in regards to requests for info on future content.
And the scum claiming that the game is dead know that.
They're knowingly taking advantage of this to spread false information, knowing that by the time BioWare staff are allowed to refute their claims, they've gotten their clickbait revenue. They don't care if their lies causes strife in a fandom, damages a game's sales and reputation, and causes weeks of harassment and abuse towards developers. None of them as long as they can get clicks out of pandering to the internet circlejerk.
Between Montreal Comic Con, SDCC, a chunk of future content confirmed for MP, and comic/novel tie-ins continuing along, literally the only reason to believe the game is dead is one person saying other people told him so, and a bunch of other clickbait peddlers regurgitating his claims. You would have to ignore the game obviously not being dead in BioWare's eyes to declare the game being dead.
So if you're constantly badgering BioWare staff and official accounts on social media, if you're taking any moment where they're not announcing DLC to be a sign of doom, if you're whining about the game being "sacrificed" for Anthem or claiming that the game is dead in complete defiance of all evidence...
...then in the end, the people who want BioWare and the fandom to die are getting exactly what they want.
So don't let them win. Don't do exactly what these scum want you to do. Don't react to their bullshit exactly how they want you to react.

That's needlessly offensive.
Many people, myself included, believe the game was axed because it's unlikely that Jason Schreier and the Eurogamer journalist are making things up and it's a believable narrative.
Of course there are people that will be less elegant when taking about this, just like there are equally inelegant people who will defend the game at all costs.

I've started making extensive use of the block button here... which makes it much each to just not respond to them. Out of sight, out of mind. Yeah, it's heavy duty censorship, but my blood pressure is way down today.

Agreed, especially the part about bothering BioWare staff. I still can't help but feel but feel that BioWare is horrible at communicating with it's fans and marketing. I know they usually keep DLC very hush hush and only announce them days before release. Who does that?! I usually hear about DLC months ahead of time with other devs and then you get the drip drip drip of info a week or two ahead of release to build excitement. They can no longer rely on the goodwill of players because they squandered that.
I realize that BioWare staff can't talk, what I don't get is why. They won't even let us know what's going on with Mass Effect book. I enjoyed Uprising, but what about Anihilation? It's supposed to be out this Summer. It's July and I still have no idea.

Many people, myself included, believe the game was axed because it's unlikely that Jason Schreier and the Eurogamer journalist are making things up and it's a believable narrative. It's not a "believable narrative". Schreier has misrepresented standard BioWare development practices as a sign of doom. I think the most likely possibility is that Schreier heard unsubstantiated rumours and doesn't give a crap if it's wrong as long as he covers his own ass by saying "sources say" and "plans may change".

I agree that the idea he's knowingly making stuff up (at least at time of his original article) is a bit of a stretch, but his priority is to get clicks. Whether that means he exercises due diligence and actually verifies everything before going to print is another question. He's already had to revise his article once already. And it wouldn't be the first time he's fallen for a dodgy source. But hey, that was just then, right? This time he's got it right? He's now the unofficial mouthpiece for Bioware and his secret source tells him only truth?

Yeah, it's heavy duty censorship, but my blood pressure is way down today. Yeah man I've got suikoden blocked. It's easy to spin blocking as "they can't handle criticism, they need a safe space, triggered by honest debate and discussion??" and so on. But actually, I can't be bothered with the same damn thread over and over, month after month. Every thread is the same stuff. There comes a time when the only sensible response is to take hold of the fly swatter and proceed. I don't like ME:A very much myself or think there will be DLC, but god damn.

As a long-term ME fan who was overall disappointed in ME:A, the OP sounds to me like basically just the opposite side of the same coin that he or she is criticizing. If people want this forum to become every bit the same kind of circle-jerk that some anti-Bioware forums have become, by all means emulate the OP's attitude.

Iit's based on the reporting by two different journalists, one that has been right about this sort of thing before and certainly has inside and/or close sources at Bioware. It's based on what two people have said other people have said. Nevermind that Schreier has been wrong about this sort of thing before, or how his incredibly-defensive passive-aggressive attitude towards ME fans skeptical of his claims and the devs themselves certainly don't lend him any credibility.

Fluffy, is that you? You really should find something better to do with your time than post vitriol-filled rants here and on reddit. You're becoming exactly the type of person you so relentlessly hate.
Anyway, I don't believe there won't be DLC because of what Jason Schreier said. I believe there won't be DLC because Bioware already added a new Milky Way race to the game only for multiplayer with not so much as a hint in single player. That tells me all I need to know. Plus for personal reasons I'd rather not get my hopes up and just enjoy the base game.

I think we need to call them out on their crap. They tend to spread disinformation about the game or exaggerate it's flaws. It was haters with an agenda that spread this propoganda against the game via youtube clickbait and meme posting that hurt this game's sales. These assholes have had an agenda against this franchise for a very long time (I personally think they just have something against space operas) and they have been desperately trying to bring it out down.

I had thought the only publication saying there wouldn't be DLC was JS's Kotaku, and the rest simply quoted his article. I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. Per the bit I quoted, the author of the Eurogamer article talked to his own source "close to Bioware" (whatever that might mean) who also told them that no DLC is being worked or on in the planning stage. Like I said, maybe both articles are wrong, but the Eurogamer story is not just basing their claim off of the Kotaku story.

Continued patches and Twitch streams would suggest there is still a presence at Montreal, but enough to make SP DLC? I have no idea. However, sources "close" to Bioware is where we got the whole KOTOR reboot hoax from, too (Kotaku as well) so I'll wait for sources inside Bioware to explain why they've spent so much time and effort patching animations, glitches, adding romance content, changing cinematic scenes, etc all for a "dead" game that has no people working at the studio if there'll be no DLC.
