If I'm not mistaken, the devs said they're going to allow the game to be modded. If true, someone will come up with a better save feature, etc. There's actually a mod already. It's pretty bare bones and it might not work after updates, but damn that's a day one mod that "fixes" one of the major problems people are having.

That means I'll probably won't wait until the game goes on sale. For King Sigi! Or was it Wenceslav? Meh, all the same foreign spawn! Is there Hussite heretics in the game? I think it should be the right time.

So is there any penalty for sneaking up behind random villagers to give them hugs and taking all their stuff when they fall asleep (provided you dont get seen by anyone)? Was trying to pick the guy's pocket but found this works as well, it seems like something that you shouldn't be able to do but I am playing Henry as somebody without a conscience and who's only moral philosophy is "don't get caught", also how do I sell off stolen goods?

You have to find a fence who's willing. I first came across such after the prologue, where due to circumstances you will meet a miller. That miller will send you on some bs errand, which is a test, and if all goes well you can keep selling stolen goods to them. They will also ask for specific items. I suck at stealthy shit in general so didn't go that route. Will be a good way to get coin though.

Ok yeah I can see where you guys are coming from, not being able to save anywhere and the lack of autosaves at key moments is already giving me the shits, don't really see the point in limiting the saves in a game like this.

Sounds like I would enjoy this. Though I think I'll wait until I've cleared the decks of other games and give a chance for some patches, so summer maybe...

I can appreciate the attempt to insert more immersion into the game, but then a "savior schnapps" isn't particularly immersive either... So yeah, I'd take a normal save system over this gimmick. Certainly not something I see as an advantage. It's certainly useful when a game has bugs and isn't particularly stable. It doesn't seem to be popular with most reviewers. A bad save system can kill a game.

Saw a glitch earlier for fav streamer; he was stuck on the horse, couldn't move. He tried fast travel but it didn't work. So he lost like, maybe an hour or less of gameplay. This is where an easy save system can really help. I'm going to try out the save mod later.

I'm like a little kid on Christmas.
A character somewhat related to the main quest just talked about Master Jan Hus by name, and mentioned his preachings!
Even said that it's interesting that the man preaches in Czech in one of Prague's chapels!

Heretics.
*scoff*
Yes, the man who gave inspiration to the Chalice people - to this day one of the finest fighting forces in European history - is mentioned at least twice. Possibly more, I kinda went sidequesting today and mostly disregarded the main quest.
Then there's Tereza. Swear to God, she's exactly the kind of girl anyone could ever need. Fun fact: When people demanded female PC option, Vavra stood his ground and said no. Far as I know, he also said that a follow-up DLC story with a female character who "saves Henry at the beginning" as the protag is not out of the question. This means that she's a potential future protagonist.
I also very much like their relationship. I won't detail what it is, exactly (and the term relationship in itself does not suggest where on the imaginary line they are) but it's very nicely made. Characters definitely get at least 9/10 from me.

Between Theresa and Lady what's-her-name, Theresa is the wiser option; better relationship. The latter gave me creeps and I didn't like how pushy she is, never mind the sob story. Additionally, it's asking for a head chop if her husband finds out. P.S. The save mod is working like a charm.

Yeah I'll be using the save mod, so thanks for posting it. I'm just too busy with life and I have to be able to save and shut the game off at a moments notice. I don't mind challenging gameplay options like in the witcher 2 where insane mode actually meant death, as long as they're optional and the gamers get to decide how they want to play. Other then that I've really been enjoying the game so far and I guess I'm just lucky because I haven't ran across any bugs yet (hope I didn't jinx myself). I'm pretty terrible with blocking though and I must have started the beginning over at least five different times because I was determined to beat that kunesh guys ass. Hopefully I'll get better.

People seriously expect a historical based game to have women running around with swords, armor and shit? I mean I know it was a thing for some kingdoms, like Scythian hordes and what not. But I sincerely doubt Bohemia had fighting women. Anyways. I've been watching some more of the game on Twitch, I'm really liking the quests. I try to not watch the whole thing to not spoil myself, but for what I can see, they're pretty well done.

I did a hunting section just now. I've seen a couple of other streamers did this and wondered why they're running around. Making so much noise and in full view, definitely, you'll have a harder time. Especially when you're trying to prove a point to somebody. I just crouched, stayed still, listened and searched the terrain. The prey will appear and won't run if they can't see you. The bow and arrow isn't easy since there's no reticle and the arm swayed ridiculously. I've done archery before and the arm shouldn't be trembling so quickly once full draw is achieved. I think I used at least up to 8 arrow shots per target. Fortunately, the target stayed still in the distance and some of the arrows can be retrieved. I did one of the main quests. I thought of fighting but died twice because I equipped a sword the protag hasn't the skills to use and I ditched some other stuff before the mission because he's encumbered. So I had nothing to fight with. I thought I should be able to do one other thing. I tried it and it worked. Mission completed.

It makes at least as much sense as the current protagonist (and no, you don't have to reach as far as Scythia for "fighting women," not that the protagonist being such is even an essential prerequisite). The only reason Vavra didn't make a female PC an option is that he didn't want to. Which is fine, but I'd respect him more if he had just admitted that instead of hiding behind historical realism when it suits him. Realism is just a marketing buzzword anyway.

I try to not watch the whole thing to not spoil myself, but for what I can see, they're pretty well done. It's a real gem. You can see they put some love into it. And yes, people wanted a female option. And you are correct. We have our fair share of strong women (Paní Štěpánka z Talmberka - actually appears in the game, Svatá Anežka Česká, Kněžna Libuše, just to start off) but there are none that would be comparable to Joan of Arc. All of them were strong and achieved much, but not on the battlefield. And just to quote Henry's father - Karel IV. built half of Prague, a bridge over Vltava, our most renowned University, ruled an empire that could easily rival many others in human history... all without a war. The only war that has any sort of relevance to Karel IV., in fact, is the Hundred Years' War, as his father, Jan Lucemburský, was one of the French king's vassals and died during the battle of Crécy, which led to Karel IV. becoming the King of Bohemia. The next war that came was the depicted fighting between Václav IV.'s loyalists and the forces of Zikmund, Liška Ryšavá. So I had nothing to fight with. I thought I should be able to do one other thing. I tried it and it worked. Mission completed. I favored a different approach. I would stand and run until I saw my prey, then close as much as possible in stealth. It works, but you are right. I had many arrows that missed the target by a hair in the beginning (I was hunting hares, small prey). I held a bow once in my life at best, and that was a child's training bow far as I know. I never saw it at full draw, but supposedly the maximum ballistic range was two hundred meters give or take? I fired maybe two shots, but I think it would be wise to accomodate whether or not Henry is as strong as some of those bows demand at full draw. It definitely gets easier once you level up Strength. I actually scored several one-shot-kills on hares yesterday, after some 20 hours in the game, and I'm improving my sword combat skills as well to the point where I can sometimes block entire combo strikes, and deal them out just as well. Can't aim for shit? Struggling to use bow? Open consle and try wh_pl_showfirecursor 1If it works, thank me later. Or just be a badass and learn the hard way?
