Wouldn't it be awesome if the Quarian Ark was under siege not by the Scourge or the Kett... but by some Geth that stowed away on their ship. There would be a conflict going on between the organics and the Geth when Ryder reaches their Ark. A twist in the story could happen after a bit of initial fighting. The Geth that stowed away were non-heretic Geth like Legion who simply wanted to explore deep space like their creators. Ryder could set up a truce. The Quarians agree to accept the Geth as sentient life (not malfunctioning machines) and in return, the Geth help the Quarians by speeding up their ability to live on a planet without the need of an envirosuit. Later the Geth would prove extremely useful to the Initiative and Ryder by helping them learn about the Remnant and how to directly program the terraforming devices to make a planet habitable for each type of organic race. A planet where Quarians don't need suits (Turians could also live here because same type of food), another for Volus and one for Drell and Hanar. This could also lead to having all of the above races in multiplayer as well. Admit it, you want a playable Blasto character for MP who can dual or quadruple wield several weapons

Or...what if the Quarians and Geth collaborated for the journey and Ark's construction? We know it was the Geth's information utilizing a mass relay-enhanced telescope that enabled the Andromeda Initiative to see, what they thought at the time, were current events in the Heleus cluster as opposed to guessing what might awaiting them 2.5 million light years away. What if, for mutual benefit, they worked together and some other external threat is dogging them?
Lot's of interesting ways the Quarian Ark DLC could go

One of my primary theories is that there is some tension in the Ark because of SAM,the Pathfinder AI. Many things could happen, including some radical Quarians that could try to sabotage SAM and the consequence of it is SAM going rogue or rebelling.
And then of course, they could be surrounded by a new race. They didn't enter Heleus, right? So the Kett would be off their map.

The Geth had their story in the MW, I'd rather see a new race with a new story as the enemy.

I'd actually prefer if whatever species/faction is threatening the Quarian Ark is from Andromeda, and the geth are stowaways who help us (Ryder et al, plus the quarian Pathfinder's team) save the day with whatever technological sneakiness they come up with. This gives us a new enemy (yay variety!) and storyline without the need to revisit again the geth/quarian conflict. MP would be equally enriched with a new enemy faction and extra playable characters.

I'm guessing that in the asme way Alec tweaked human SAM to be best SAM, any Quarian who's careless enough to allow a AI into his or her head would also almost ubndoubtedly be carzy and tweak quarian-SAM to be Ubber-Gewth-SAM, because "we have the expertise, and we have to regulate our suits and why the fuck not at this point since we are already stuck oin the bath-tub of an ark with batarians anyway?"
Quarian SAM has got to be some weird thing. Maybe weird enough to shift the balance of power.

MP would be equally enriched with a new enemy faction and extra playable characters. This, but instead of stowaways the Geth arrived via their own ship. That way there can even be a part of the DLC where Ryder and Co think the Geth are responsible(they think all Geth are like the Heretics) and that can lead to a reveal of the true Geth actually trying to save them, either like Legion's reveal of saving Shepard or a reverse scenario of recruiting Tali with Legion in the party. That way like you said there is a new story but at the same time it addresses the perception of Geth and solves the conflict between them and organics.

I prefer what I said before though, because helping the geth build their first physical platform (and temporary companion for the rest of the DLC? yes please!) in Andromeda would be incredibly cool, imo.

The idea I have is this. Maybe the Andromeda Initiative leadership just thought it was the Geth threating the Quarian Ark, but when Ryder and crew show up, it instead turns out to be a species that's
already in Andromeda which is attacking the ark. (I really would be happy if it was a whole new race that ends up being the attackers. BioWare may not want to go this path, but one can only hope.)

No Geth and Quarian conflict in Andromeda pls and no Reapers.
I don't want this to become DA, where I role my eyes in boredome everytime I am in the middle of yet another Templer vs Mage conflict.

The message from the Quarian Arc was not a plea for help but a warning to stay away. Why?! Why stay away? I really hope we get an answer.

I'd say the likelihood of a brand new Andromeda species threatening the Quarian Ark is very slim, Bioware are likely reanimating the Elcor, Quarians, Hanar, Volus and possibly Drell, as well as creating female versions of each (as is likely to happen), which means they are already doing a lot of new concepting, animation and modelling work. I doubt they'd also add a brand new enemy threat during this DLC. We might see Geth as the enemy, or we may see someone like the Roekkar or Kett getting involved. I'd prefer if it was something different to the Kett though.

ME1: Batarians ME2: Yahg ME3: Leviathans Quarian Ark would be adding at least 5 new species to the Andromeda galaxy, even if they aren't new to us. From a stand point of money being spent, it makes less sense to add a brand new race to the Quarian Ark DLC, but to have them in a future DLC as a major selling point.

Perhaps, though I was just addressing their post about Bioware having a pattern introducing new races via DLC. Also I can see Bioware having the new race be a surprise rather than a selling point, like they did with the Yahg and the Leviathans.
