If you choose Control - peace on Rannoch... Never ever - I find the endings other than destroy wholly illogical and can't stomach them. I always found Control rather fitting and ironic... but let's not have that debate here. *note* busy weekend has hampered new entries, but I'll catch the days up.

*note* technically speaking, we are a few days behind, so we'll pull a few 'shorter' days to catch up...

100 #MassEffect memories to #N7Day #47Mass Effect Andromeda ~ Spacing Liam I love this scene. Liams loyalty mission was one of the best missions in the game imo.

100 #MassEffect memories to #N7Day #36Mass Effect 2 ~ The Hammerhead Really... you need to find one with the "No smoking" warning or the comments made when running over the space cows during the Overlord DLC. Honestly Sofa, this video really doesn't do the Hammerhead justice... just saying.

100 #MassEffect memories to #N7Day #42Mass Effect ~ Rachni queen Y'know i never played ME1, but that was a compelling scene....i felt for that creature in the small moment in witnessing that clip....Andromeda failed to even touch on anything near this and any attempt was awkward or cringworthy (Jaal's crying)....Female Ryder's flirting with Lexi....etc....the original trilogy got so much right in that regard.

Strange... I had very little sympathy for her by that point because I had just gone through a whole level of the game of her children attacking us. I think it's a little rash to assess ME1 against MEA for feels based on one video when you haven't played through the levels that led to that scene.

I think it's a little rash to assess ME1 against MEA for feels based on one video when you haven't played through the levels that led to that scene. That's fair to an extent...but for me, not playing ME1 and just watching that one scene, it grabbed me in a way that made me feel sympathy for the creature. It accomplished it's goal without me even playing the game itself. There are no moments like that in Andromeda and any attempts were awkward....look at this vid concerning Samarah and her child... She's a cold as ice justicar, but she is also a mother and you can see how within these moments in how she struggles with her code.......Andromeda fails on every level to implement compelling and complex issues whether it be towards decision making or executing controversial decisions characters have to make. The trilogy managed to make you care for these characters in a way that was quite extraordinary and with Andromeda,...it just felt flat...yes I know opinions, but I could care less if anybody got waxed in Andromeda......that is how the writing felt.

The trilogy managed to make you care for these characters in a way that was quite extraordinary and with Andromeda,...it just felt flat...yes I know opinions, but I could care less if anybody got waxed in Andromeda......that is how the writing felt. For me, there were lots of moments in ME:A that grabbed me. You mentioned one of them - Jaal breaking down and crying. Now, his VA could have done a better job, I admit; but the moment was very moving. I also found the conversation with him afterward very moving (but that would depend on what lines you selected and what sort of Ryder you were playing). I also found the moment that you allow Aksul to shoot Jaal very moving... I thought the downfall of a despot by undermining the faith of his followers was well played and totally in keeping with an underlying theme of dis-empowering the villains... bravely going against the "badass" trope of the other games. Even the fall of the Archon from his Architect tethers was very well done in keeping with that theme. Also, I'd like to point out that the scene you show with Samara is from ME3... the second game with that character. You had a whole game before to become someone invested in her character. In ME2, the scene right after when you help her kill Morinth (before you leave the apartment) is no where near as well voiced and doesn't produce any emotion really. Her daughter is lying dead at her feet and she just matter-of-factly asks something like "are you ready to go yet, if not, I'll stand here and remember my daughter's birth." The conversation aboard the Normandy after is only marginally more "grabbing." I was also very moved by the moment that Alec took his helmet off and gave it to Ryder... and the moment before when he said that it's moments like these that make it all worthwhile. I thought the scene of his communicating with that vault was epic. Another moving moment, when my Ryder told his twin both that their dad had died and that finding a home hadn't worked out and the impact that has on the twin. I could go on... but this thread is not the place to carry on such arguments. You'll not convince to dislike this game and I'll not convince you to like it... so we'll leave it at that.
