That's fair to an extent...but for me, not playing ME1 and just watching that one scene, it grabbed me in a way that made me feel sympathy for the creature. It accomplished it's goal without me even playing the game itself. There are no moments like that in Andromeda and any attempts were awkward....look at this vid concerning Samarah and her child... She's a cold as ice justicar, but she is also a mother and you can see how within these moments in how she struggles with her code.......Andromeda fails on every level to implement compelling and complex issues whether it be towards decision making or executing controversial decisions characters have to make. The trilogy managed to make you care for these characters in a way that was quite extraordinary and with Andromeda,...it just felt flat...yes I know opinions, but I could care less if anybody got waxed in Andromeda......that is how the writing felt. For me, there were lots of moments in ME:A that grabbed me. You mentioned one of them - Jaal breaking down and crying. Now, his VA could have done a better job, I admit; but the moment was very moving. I also found the conversation with him afterward very moving (but that would depend on what lines you selected and what sort of Ryder you were playing). I also found the moment that you allow Aksul to shoot Jaal very moving... I thought the downfall of a despot was well played and totally in keeping with an underlying theme of disempowering the villains... bravely going against the "badass" trope of the other games. Even the fall of the Archon from his Architect tethers was very well done in keeping with that theme. Also, I'd like to point out that the scene you show with Samara is from ME3... the second game with that character. The scene right after when you help her kill Morinth (before you leave the apartment) is no where near as well voiced and doesn't produce any emotion really. The conversation aboard the Normandy after is only marginally more "grabbing." I was also very moved by the moment that Alec took his helmet off and gave it to Ryder... and the moment before when he said that it's moments like these that make it all worthwhile. I thought the scene of his communicating with that vault was epic. Another moving moment, when my Ryder told his twin both that their dad had died and that finding a home hadn't worked out and the impact that has on the twin. I could go on... but this thread is not the place to carry on such arguments. You'll not convince to dislike this game and I'll not convince you to like it... so we'll leave it at that. I just wanted to point out that I know that scene was from ME3......Samarah already lost one daughter and she wasn't willing to kill the other one for reasons I mentioned above. I didn't even feel anything when Alec took off his helmet because there was no real time given to relate or to get to know Alec in any significant manner. And yes we can agree to disagree because I wasn't moved by any of those moments you mentioned in Andromeda.

And yes we can agree to disagree because I wasn't moved by any of those moments you mentioned in Andromeda. I don't have to know dad intimately to have an understanding that any father giving up his life for his son/daughter is an immensely heroic sacrifice. The scene is purposefully written in such a way to leave it open to the player to just decide whether or not young Ryder cares about his/her dad... as opposed to "forcing" the player to care about dad... which would take away player agency. Similarly, when you chose Shepard's background in ME1, you had no idea what the Batarians were all about or what Shepard's mom was like. You weren't handheld into experiencing Mindoir... you imagined it... and, had you wanted to, you could imagine your relationship with Alec.

100 #MassEffect memories to #N7Day #28Mass Effect 3 ~ Conrad Werner saves Shepard I would have put that in the top ten It's certainly a good one. With 27 picks to go, if folk think we're missing any really obvious ones, it's probably time to call them out.

Here's a suggestion from each game: Corporal Toombs from ME1 (with a Survivor Shepard) Jack/Miranda Fight from ME2. Curing or not curing the genophage from ME3 Hyperion Crashing from ME:A

100 #MassEffect memories to #N7Day #29Mass Effect 2 ~ Ah yes 'Reapers' So many times in MEA I wanted the option to do the same thing on the nexus only my Ryder had to assume the doormat position and let the others walk all over him.

100 #MassEffect memories to #N7Day #21Mass Effect 3 ~ EDI Haha..i know some folks don't like EDI, but i loved her character in ME3....she was struggling to understand human emotion and concepts and her character growth progressed profoundly throughout the game....furthermore she wasn't a freakin' "google it" Like how SAM was in Andromeda. She offered solutions and opinions to scenarios in situations, but i don't remember her solving the majority of problems for Shepard...she was well balanced....sexbot or whatever you want to call it, that was a fine character model as well....halfway don't blame Joker for falling for EDI....lol...

Tali's Trial with Legion... Y'know i never brought along Legion during this section because i was afraid I was going to cause some un-just beef between the two, so i always avoided it, but Legion gives some interesting feedback in this scenario if you bring him along... I liked Legion's character too....a bit heartwrenching in the way he went out in ME3,... ... but at the same time i liked how he went out....Tali's confirmation of Legion having a soul in that segment was golden.... ...lol and people wonder why the writing in Andromeda was weak?.....characters in this moment give clear and opposing opinions with clarity and conviction.....voice actors also make a difference in bringing your characters to life.

This countdown needs a lot more mordin in it.
Or perhaps mordin is so good he's in the top ten exclusively.
