Unpopular and probably quite controversial: Laurel Hubbard should not be competing against women in the olympic games.
Unpopular opinion: Disliking modern art is not an unpopular opinion. Back in university, one of my fellow students voiced his distaste of modern art. My professor called him a fascist for it. Happens more than you'd think XD

Happens more than you'd think XD General public does not understand and dislikes modern art. People who do like it are also usually the people who study it i.e. understand it. While disliking modern art among such people might be a rarity they themselves are a minority. At least, that is my perception of the issue.

Risking the scorn of probably 80% of the users here, I have to admit I hate Queen. Queen is garbage music. Pretty much all their songs are not only totally overrated but also really damn annoying, unmelodic and quite frankly dumb. Even if I was trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse and all I had in terms of entertainment was a tape with songs from Queen I would not play it, EVER. I'd rather make music myself with my empty can of dog food and my rusty spoon than listen to that puke. I can't say I ever cared for them either.

More like Event Horizon, Dead Space and Pandorum Not Jason X? Jason X is too much of a comedy, it doesn't fit in at all. I'd recommend Planet of the Vampires (1965) though. If you've never seen it, you might discover that there are things in it that will remind of you of another great scifi horror film from 1979.

All of this complaining about Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson going to space, specifically those complaining about how rich they are, is really short-sighted and petty.
Do people not realize that this is the first time in world history that private industries have left our planet? Sure it's something only the super rich can do right now but that has been the case for any sort of innovation in the past. If it wasn't for the wealthy pushing for electricity and indoor plumbing then those commodities never would have been developed to the point that the everyman could afford them.
In short, billionaire CEOs going into space is a good thing for our species. Once the development of this technology takes off we can finally start to employ the resources of our solar system.

I'm super annoyed at the people who always say that the money would be better spent on ending poverty. Yeah, lets divert all resources used to advance science, culture & technology into the bottomless hole that is poverty. Screw moving the human race forward in any meaningful way, there is only poverty to fix and nothing else.

The criticism aimed at him is not about ending poverty persay it's more about the unethical ways someone like Bezos makes his billions, paying less tax and forcing his workers to " pee into bottles" because they are burdened with such strict work quotas which do not allow for a freakin' toilet break. That's sickening! He and his ugly way of making money deserves to be called out.

Play is nobler than work
Nikola Tesla and Leonardo Da Vinci and Isaac Newton etc. could have spent their lives meeting the status quo. Instead they chose to reach for the heavens.
It doesn't matter what you do, so long as you do it in earnest and to your limits.

So what you're really saying is that you're okay with his company treating his employees like machines just so that he can continue to invest in private space flight technologies.
Sure he should continue to spend his oodles of billions on his space ventures but he could also make small changes to the running of his Amazon empire that make him less of an exploiter and slave driver.

Bezos could have run his business in a more humane way AND do space flights - that's how successful amazon is.
But instead he decided on being an evil greedy fucker.
Problem is, most successful people are psychopaths, that's how they get to the top in the first place, so no surprises here.

Unpopular opinion: Gotta say, arguing on the Internet has its perks. Whenever I feel like letting off some steam, I'd just stir up some trouble on some form of social media platform, be it YouTube or some Internet messageboard (though I avoid doing so in this one), and just argue with someone to get that adrenaline pumping. Sure, I might get flagged or banned, but it feels good to wreck someone else's day just because mine got wrecked. *shrugs* Simple pleasures.
