I have a little question... I thought transformers could transform into like vehicles and things??? (or giant robot dinosaurs apparently)
I cant figure out whether its a hairdyer-bot, a drill-bot or a sex toy-bot...
What is it supposed to be???

"Or so". Bebop started in 98. Transformers G1 is exactly why I don't want MEA. This is Hot Rod all over again. That's a good point. My excuse is that I don't consider Cowboy Bebop anime because there is character development, the humor is understandable by Americans, and the plot makes sense. (Seriously, I do like a lot of anime, though most of it is pretty frickin' old.)Well, we had better end the Transformers G1 discussion before any more hardcore fans notice.  Or we could have a massive f iretrucking flamewar about Transformers G1, Hot Rod, Prodimus Rime, TRUKK NOT MUNKY, and Unicron's underwear, turn this entire thread into a giant soul-sucking black hole disaster of a miserable failure, drive hundreds of posters away, both get banned, then drink two cases of Miller Lite.  Loved me some G1 Transformers. Was not so much a fan of the seasons after the movie. I like the old, oooold originals. Gimme Megatron and Starscream bitching at each other any day. I also mostly enjoyed the hell out of Beast Wars. I dropped out of TF fandom after that series, though, because it all just started getting too dumb for me. How can you people hate these:

That's Galvatron and he's some sort of space laser/cannon contraption. One that mostly looks like a dildo. Most of the Transformers were vehicles, planes, dinosaurs, that sort of thing. A few were assorted oddities. G1 Megatron was a Walther P-38 handgun (pimped out with a ton of accessories), for example. The trigger placement on his 80's toy is the best thing ever.  |

I also mostly enjoyed the hell out of Beast Wars. I dropped out of TF fandom after that series, though, because it all just started getting too dumb for me. Same here. Beast Wars had two writers, Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio IIRC, who (on paper) had no business writing a kids' TV show, and turned what looked like the stupidest Transformers concept ever into one of the greatest. Like you, I pretty much ignore everything after that. |

Megatron is the Decepticon leader, yes, and Starscream is his second-in-command. It's been ages since I last watched the show, but it was my understanding that they really didn't get a choice in what they transformed into on earth. The ships' computers scanned the nearby "wildlife" and chose things that it thought were sorta close to what their original transforms on Cybertron were (generally space-age kinda stuff, like space jets and space tanks, etc). For the most part, it matched well. For example, Starscream was a flyer on Cybertron and on earth he ended up getting an F-15 fighter jet form. That was a good match. Megatron... not so much. LOL I think he was some sort of mobile weapons platform on Cybertron. But the computer didn't make him a tank, which probably would've been a much better equivalent. |

The Christopher Nolan Batman movies are overrated.
I dont know... I think theyre very well made and very kind of cinematic and I think they ARE the best batman movies weve had (although theres a lack of Michelle Pfeiffer which is upsetting of course)... that being said... I dont like them Those movies are always kind of my uh analogy in a way of how my view on right and wrong works...
Because to me there IS a predefined kind of sense of right and wrong that exists (questions about who makes these rules about right and wrong will remain unanswered because its an entirely illogical view of the world but its what I think either way)... but what I believe and the collective good in a sense often disagree...
Like (i cant remember where it was)... we were talking about animals... and I believe that killing animals or killing anything is ALWAYS wrong regardless of whatever... but not killing certain animals would lead to like a population boom and lots of problems would happen there... so the collective good would be to kill the animals... but I cant ever think that way
So basically those movies are basically what I use to help myself understand how I contradict my own beliefs with what I believe

The Christopher Nolan Batman movies are overrated. I kinda feel the same, except for Ledger's joker who is well deserved of all the hype he gets. Every popular kiddie thing since MY popular kiddie thing (TRANSFORMERS G1) has sucked big time. -Digimon (never got that popular but it annoyed me just the same) -DBZ -All anime made since about 1998 or so. And Evangelion too just because  Why? Digimon first season was really good for the kids and teens. DBZ is the ultimate badassness. Much better than Gundams. And One Piece is deep, awesome and glorious with the best plot and lore:  |
