Gladiator is better than all the AFI top 100 whatever tried watching em all a long time ago and got too bored, lame as all get out they were. I'm gonna disagree cause it had Russel Crowe, i'm not a fan of his, I find him very boring to watch. Him and Kevin Costner...

Like LA confidential. I agree about Costner, even though i like a few of his star vehicle films it has been more about the story of the film than him.

I find watching both to be as exciting as lumpy porridge. I pains me to say this, but I would rather watch a Tom Cruise movie than these two. At least Tom brings some personality to the big screen. He was pretty damn awesome in the court scene in "A Few Good Men.", it kills me to have to admit that. I try to avoid Costner and Crowe movies, I find their on screen performances kind of bland.

I was never a fan of his until I saw that movie, it impressed me, so now watching a Tom Cruise movie doesn't bother me as much as it once did. (my sister and her constant gushing over him in Risky Business really soured me to him...ever have that happen?)

^In a similar vein, I think we should cool it with the "everyone is beautiful" spiel. No, everyone is not beautiful. To say that they are perverts the meaning of the word and renders it pointless. We say things are beautiful because their visual appearance makes them stand out from other things. Well, everything can't stand out from every other thing. That doesn't make any sense. What we should do instead is emphasize that it's okay not to be beautiful. That a person's contribution to the world can be weighed by factors other than their physical appearance. Don't shower people with false platitudes. Remind them of their real worth. Sort of. This implies there's an objective standard of beauty. There is not. So really, that should read, "everyone is beautiful to somebody. Also beauty is not the only factor of self-worth". I like teh second part. Otherwise, here's another (from another thread): I don't hate Jay Baruchel's voice. Yeah it's super nasally, but it doesn't annoy me. And the dude's a pretty good actor.

Sort of. This implies there's an objective standard of beauty. There is not. So really, that should read, "everyone is beautiful to somebody. Also beauty is not the only factor of self-worth". I like teh second part. A fair point. But yes, the main thrust of the argument is that we should de-emphasize the importance of physical attractiveness altogether. "Everyone is beautiful to somebody" is likely a factual statement but one that, to me, shouldn't really be valued all that much. That there's probably some stranger out there who might like how your face looks shouldn't play that big a role in how you view yourself. A large number of people or someone important to you considering you to be beautiful is certainly cause for celebration for people in those fortunate circumstances, but it shouldn't be treated as the avenue by which everyone seeks and finds validation. If I were to declare myself unattractive, the knee-jerk, good-person response would be to reject that opinion with "Oh no you're not!" when, really, the response should be "So what?" I'm reminded of the South Park episode in which the boys are freaking out over a list that the girls made, ranking them in order of attractiveness. Clyde was at the top and Kyle was at the bottom and the way Clyde tried to cheer Kyle up was to say "Hey, Kyle. Look man, it doesn't matter what people think, okay? You know, Abraham Lincoln was pretty ugly too, but look what he accomplished. Chin up, cowboy." That's played off as a insensitive, cavalier thing for him to say but why should it be? It's a good goddamn point. Now to be clear, I'm not advocating for that to be the approach people should take right now in those types of scenarios. The current social climate makes that kind of a statement come off as way too brutal and saying something like that can be very harmful to someone with low self-esteem. But I do think it would be better if society eventually got to a place where that kind of thing can be said.

A little pepper spray is probably enough to drive off an attacking dog. It hits them harder than humans due to their superior sense of smell. I find it highly amusing when someone chases after someone spraying mace and inadvertently maces themself. It's no surprise that stuff keeps getting banned everywhere.

Hmmm.. my weird list..
I can't stand beer.
I catch myself being drawn to crazy women, and instinctively find 'sane' ones repulsive or uninteresting. No Normie McNormalson for me! As long as its managable and she tells me the truth, sign me up!
I am almost always initially distrustful of people I view as frivolous, lackadaisical, or decadent. /conservative christian upbringing
You'd have an easier time getting me to give up porn than to give up metal music. Sometimes you just want to scream, shout, and so on.
I hate dealing with people who I consider overly self-protective-well-I find that friendliness/civility and self-protectionism are more often than not mutually exclusive. Basically I see no reason to go out of my way for people that for all intents and purposes view me as a criminal. It's admittingly a peeve of mine.
I hate being in hospitals for any amount of time for any reason. I don't fear it, but I don't like the inactivity.
Security guards are little more than money pit laughingstocks 9/10 of the time. Almost all studies done say they do little to nothing.
I don't see what's so vulgar about vulgarity. Almost everyone I know talks like a sailor.

I like that it gives him an aire of defiance, I can't stand prim, proper or obediant, I like personality and his voice has it. (not to mention if my daughter has her way, he may one day be my son-in-law and I can't say anything mean about him. LOL the girl's been crushing on him since PMK.)

Then how about you go and delete all the posts on these forums that discuss drugs. If you're going to delete the last few that were on here then it's only fair that you go and delete the rest.
