I am lucky in regards to not been socially harassed for not ever wearing a suit for nearly 25 years.
Funny how for formal attire men wear layers of restrictive clothing while women wear less, loose clothing but have to endure wearing high-heels and applying make-up. It is weird.

I avoid formal events for that reason, I'd rather wear sweat pants and T-shirts. I don't think I even own a dress/skirt anymore and that's the way I like it.

I wear a tie to work about once a year just for the reaction. Everyone always asks if I have a job interview. Lucky son of a bitch, I have wear them daily. They always chafe too. I have six ties, though I usually only wear two of them.

Nooooo! My dog's name is Minion. Unpopular opinion: Minion is the cutest, best-est, most snuggle-worthy dog in the universe! I'll allow it.

This thread has turned to heresy. It must be rectified. They ARE uncomfortable. Wearing a suit I can't raise my arms higher than horizontal, the trousers pinch in the crotch, they make me overheat in typical office climate - especially the tie and neck area- and I do not have enough upper body freedom of movement to do a proper sprint ( I have destroyed 3 suits that way). And as a bonus, with my body build I look like like an idiot in a suit. You're not wearing the right ones. Also your body is atypically hard to suit, from what I remember when this came up before.

My suits are tailor made / modified. But still, if it has to look good it needs to be a little tight / slim, and if suits get a little tight they immediately decrease my ability to move by 50%. Thats just how suits are cut, they don't stretch, shoulder mobility always sucks . And they're hot too, for offices. Of course, if I wore a boxy suit like Trump does I'd feel more comfortable for sure, but such suits looks kinda...eh. Oh, and another thing I forgot to mention I hate about suits - having to tuck in the shirt every half hour is annoying as hell.

I think guys look better dressed like this, it seems more comfortable.

Justin Bieber > Michael Jackson One Direction > The Beatles Drake > Tupac Ariana Grande > Whitney Housten Nick Jonas > Elvis Obvious bait is obvious m8. Also suits are fine and not really all that uncomfortable unless you have to do something physically intensive or if it's a hot environment. They also look great when worn right. As for heels, from what I've had people tell me, they're not too bad once you get used to them unless they're too high. They each have their own setting and use. Can't really wear a t-shirt and jeans to a formal dinner, regardless of how dapper you might be looking in them.

Even tailored ones have low arm range. When it comes to suits, I always go tailored (off the rack is useless imho, a suit is intended to look top notch and must look top notch) and even then you have low arm flexibility, especially with the jacket on.

Well I easily overheat and have super sensitive skin (sweating can be painful for me) so while suits may be somewhat comfortable to many men, some of us find them uncomfortable. Not to mention how they look is subjective.
Is their even a practical purpose for a tie? They originated as garments to wipe away sweat from the face in hot environments; now they are just accessories.

I gotta admit that I love guys who wears suits... I mean, I fully understand that they don't have to wear them all the time but at least once in a while would be really appreciated. There's just something about it IMO, it makes the guy look... somewhat extra handsome and stylish The men in my family wears it a lot, it varies but it's a custom to wear it to nice places

I REALLY don't understand the big deal about men in suits and why it's assumed women like them so much. Personally I think guys are more attractive in jeans or uniforms, I find 3 piece business suits off putting and have a hard time trusting a guy in a suit. What is it with women and uniforms? I've met so many women who all seem to really like men in uniforms. And I never understood it.

Suits are for bankers and funeral directors - that's it; if you can't rock a bowler hat and flying goggles you're doing something wrong! Goths don't count!

Super Unpopular: I was a shifty SJW.
>.>
<.<
But even I had enough with their toxic community that I no longer wish to engage with them and their "callouts", doxxing, digging up anything which can be deemed even remotely "problematic" on anyone they don't like--some of which are ancient--inside and outside their cliques, and beyond ridiculous black and white reasoning. I saw some of the more extreme SJWs call anyone who disagreed with them white devils/white supremacists/nazis (and many weren't even white!). I *finally* just up and left when a group of communist tankies started telling Chinese people they were white supremacists for not liking Maoism and that their experiences with their *own* country history were lies since they didn't fall in line with their inane dogma. They were extreme examples, but the SJW community in its nature breeds this sort of toxicity.
Their hostility scared the hell out of me and I'm probably a traitor/white supremacist too now for speaking up and leaving even though I'm not even white (ok, I'm half white), but hey, at least I saw the light in time. I still care about social justice issues, but I don't wish to associate/engage with that brand of crazy.

The objectivity of pro-science people is why they can't create great pieces of art or novel anymore.
The lack of objectivity of the leftists is why they're failures and laughingstocks.

Here is one that will just get me killed on here;
You are in your most dangerously stupid time of life when you are in your early 20's in college or just out of college. People gain some knowledge and have matured enough to argue and act based on the things they have learned but have not even remotely enough real life experience to see beyond some of these learned or perceived absolutes.

Social Justice Warriors are by their nature very toxic due to their insanity. as for me, making fun of them is a good thing. Ha, fair enough. I met some nice ones who genuinely cared, but for every nice one I met there were some crazy ones too who just were on some power trip. In general, meh, good riddance. There was a lot of in-fighting even within the community itself and while there is a bit of a Venn Diagram overlap between those communist tankies I mentioned and other SJWs (a lot of them hate each other), I just decided to stop associating altogether. Too much unnecessary drama and stress over an online community that, you know, is supposed to band together instead of bicker needlessly. edit: though, don't quote me on this. I'm not an expert on the intricacies of their hierarchies lol. I wasn't super prominent or very active in the community so who knows.

SJW is another faction (I'll use that term) that tends to suffer from the fact that people are more interested in preaching to the converted or riling the opposition than affecting true change even if that is a stated goal. A lot of comments, initiatives groups are more about back patting or ticking off 'the enemy' than reaching the majority with a message that will further their goals. They are not alone in this however almost all movements are susceptible to this (including political parties).
On many issues you have a small hard core bubble of people on a pro side and a small hard core bubble of people on a anti side and a massive huge bubble of people in the middle who you can bring along to your way of thinking with logical good information. The hard core bubbles often totally ignore this large bubble to look good with their own or to stir up the other side of the argument. worse yet is that some initiatives actually push the large bubble towards your opponent.
Successful change comes from not getting praise from your like minded people or getting vilified from the polar opposite but by being seen as logical and a worthy faction to listen to by the big bubble in the middle.

I see a suit, I think 'preening peacock', I see a uniform, I think duty and purpose.

That's a really astute observation, actually. I noticed that many were more interested in antagonizing people, some of which who were, in fact, actually interested in at least learning or trying to understand. I saw it a lot even within the community itself. You attract more flies with honey than vinegar, and while I do agree with some of their beliefs--I do not agree with their tactics. And while there have been a few cries to stop the unnecessary antagonization and "callouts" within the community itself, I don't see it changing soon...or ever.
