I gotta admit that I love guys who wears suits... I mean, I fully understand that they don't have to wear them all the time but at least once in a while would be really appreciated. There's just something about it IMO, it makes the guy look... somewhat extra handsome and stylish The men in my family wears it a lot, it varies but it's a custom to wear it to nice places It's cute when a guy who isn't used to wearing suits puts one on, they look so uncomfortable and yet they try to look smooth. Their awkwardness is appealing.

For me, the SJWs are kind of like the uber fundie conservative christians. Both are intent on controlling people's lives, gathering more power for their group, love to virtue signal, have this smug attitude of superiority, and are insanely retarded. I would love to see these two groups end each other in a cage match. At first I didn't think that much of them. We were both on the same side in terms of gay rights and while some maybe making mountains out of mole hills with trivial issues, I didn't think it was much of a problem. Laugh and mock the crazy ones that want "National Castration Day" but as time went on I just started to find them loathsome and disgustingly hypocritical. Particular when it comes to Islam. You can't be pro-woman's rights, pro-gay rights, and be okay with Islam. You can't protect women/gays and radical Muslims. What really put the final nail in the coffin for me is that they tried to shield the Muslims that attacked women in Cologne. Why are feminists refusing to discuss the Cologne sex attacks?German Feminists: Forget Rapist Migrants, They’re Already MarginalisedAfter that, I can't really see the advocates as nothing more then worthless wretches with piles of shit in their souls.

You can't be pro-woman's rights, pro-gay rights, and be okay with Islam. That's going a bit far, I think. While it's true that certain teachings of Islam are misogynous or favor men, the same can be said of Christianity and other religions. More liberal interpretations of Islam can co-exist with feminism just fine. It's the fundamentalists that are the issue.
The pro-gay thing is...harder to argue. But that's also true for Christianity. You just kind of have to...ignore certain parts of the holy text.

True, at the core of these religions are very misogynistic and some the practitioners are misogynistic. The real difference is that while most Christians and other religions have more or less modernize, Islam and Muslims are stuck in the Dark Ages.

I suppose I should jump in here. I have seen feminist discussions concerning the hypocrisy of defending the more misogynistic aspects of Islam in the name of intersectional feminism. In particular, a recent debate stirred concerning the controversy of a US woman champion chess player--Nazi Paikidze-Barnes-- refusing to wear a hijab at the world championship hosted in Iran. While there were many feminists quick to attack her as a "white feminist" (fake/only concerned with the rights of white women), I also saw many--including Muslim feminists--defend her decision. The common argument was that many feminists wish to overlook/defend the more misogynistic elements of Islam because they are often a marginalized/attacked group in the West. So, I wouldn't say they are contradictory, but it is a really nuanced topic.

You shouldn't be okay with Islam. You should be okay with Muslims.
I've met actual fascists and communists who aren't particularly bad people. What someone believes in doesn't necessarily make them a bad person. That being said, the actual thing they believe in is fully capable of being bad. If someone follows the actual literal teachings of Islam, they will be a bad person. This is true across many different belief systems. Criticizing and hating certain ideologies is completely rational. Hating the people who believe in those ideologies isn't, because how much someone believes of something is always the real question. Someone could call themselves a Muslim but only believe in the "good" things from the Quran just as someone could call themselves a Muslim and only believe the bad things from the Quran. You've gotta treat people like individuals.

I don't think its so much of a nuanced stance so much as its a blatant double standard. Christian: "We should just kill all the gay people. And women, they are meant to a man's property and baby maker." Feminist: "That grotesque, misogynist! How dare he! Turn him into a social outcast and cut his balls off!" Muslim: "Gays should be beheaded and women are a man's property." Feminist: "Well that's his culture."

Thank you for jumping in here, and I apologize if I inadvertently broke any rules by bringing up SJWs. I personally would rather not get into a political/social issues discussion on BSN, anyway.

I won't say anything for the movie, as I haven't seen it. But I didn't think that the trailer for the New Ghostbusters looked as bad as everyone claimed it to be.

Here is one that will just get me killed on here; You are in your most dangerously stupid time of life when you are in your early 20's in college or just out of college. People gain some knowledge and have matured enough to argue and act based on the things they have learned but have not even remotely enough real life experience to see beyond some of these learned or perceived absolutes. As I am now in my 30s, all I can say about my 20s is good riddance. Luckily, I spend most of my third decade of life in the military, so I was able to avoid most of the pitfalls of being a young, stupid, 20-something.

The evidence suggests that we are in the end times and our Doom is fast approaching. 1. A poster with whom I disagree most vehemently linked, to an excellent and thread appropriate song. 2. Michael Moore has endorsed Donald Trump. 3. The Cubs are in the World Series. 4. The Indians are in the World Series. 5. The Cubs are playing the Indians in the World Series. 6. The BW forums are toast. 7. Redheads may be a superior form of humanDoomed!
