sorry, just my personal decision based on my experience

Think Monster Hunter, but Co-op. Made by Phoenix Labs, which was started by a few former BioWare devs, including the pretty cool Jesse Houston.

Dauntless looks awful from the trailer I looked at. Admittedly I know nothing about the game play elements and such but the characters look awful the graphics look awful. They have gone from idiotic to the next level of idiotic with those weapons.

Billy seems like a nice guy so good luck to him. Having no real idea what he was responsible for nor not it is tough to either praise or condemn him re the ME mp games.

ANYway... I also live under a rock and don't know what Monster Hunter is. Please explain using small words, and how Dauntless is like that.

Just a choice as a video game consumer since I have too many games left to catch up anyway.

I vaguely remember seeing Dauntless trailer or images. I checked it on the net, and, yeah, it's anime style fantasy with chain mail bikini and gigantic swords and hammers, w/o any special artistic style to give it that je ne sais quoi that some anime pulls off. I am not the one to talk about game mechanics, but visually, it is too generic, run of the mill and uninspired to have an immediate appeal. If you make openly cartoon-stylized game, why not do some cool looking art and unusual setting at least...? were it more imaginative/prettier... maybe, but as is, why? I mean, were I an artist, I'd delight in creating something totally different from everyone else, not copy stuff over and over and over for almost a hundred years from the same Tolkien calendar.

I can echo that man. Out of pure allegiance to BW, I shelved games that are apparently classics like HZD and Nier Automata, thinking I'd be as invested in this as I was in ME2/3.

It's like tracking directors and actors you like/dislike in movies. Seeing abyone from the MEA team in the credits will definitely affect my decision making.
