I don't understand why Nilken's wife stays with him if he is exiled but leaves him if he isn't exiled. What is the reasoning behind that? If you exile him you are saying he committed the murder and I assume to his wife he maintains his innocence. If you set him free he explains what actually happened and she leaves him. That's my simplistic understanding. My take on it was that, if exiled, he was properly punished. She might have felt he'd gotten away with a crime if just sentenced to community service. Some people can forgive a crime, if you did the time. But he didn't do any time, so it probably just made him look slimy.

My Ryder and Suvi had a very professional relationship. Not going on about God made it that way. It's too bad I have to be religious to see that glow expression she has.

You need all 5 outpost planets @ 100% viability. Not sure it triggers unless you go to the bridge? You won't get it just by talking to him in your quarters.

Thanks I thought it might have to do with viability. I thought I had 100% on each planet, but Voeld was only 91%. I'm doing another side quest there to see if I can raise it to 100% and trigger Sam's mission.

Oh yeah, I have a question.
Several times, Tann makes reference to copy pasting The Citadel Council Leadership blue print to Andromeda.
Why would anyone agree to that? August Bradley filled in the plan a little bit. Everyone got a stab at grabbing land for themselves but had to give a nod to the Space Government that led them there and I can't help but think "ha! You and what army?"
Also. Sovereign Nation on Eos? I saw one camp I made a deal with but I don't see them following a new Council

My vacation was sort of cancelled, but I left my gaming computer in Michigan. So, I'm going to go through my Let's play and see what questions I had and if they were answered. Also opinions.
First Opinion: Everything SAM could do was too much. From fixing a Generator without touching it to translating entire languages off a few glyphs to literally somehow acting as a Pacemaker for Sara's heart... He was the solution to every problem. And the one problem he couldn't solve (finding Meridian) was one of the few problems I thought he was the obvious solution. But they had to give Suvi something to do to support her reason for being aboard the Tempest. Not trying to be mean, but I saw little reason for her to be there.
I found it uniquely cool that by the end of the game, hanging around and partially mentally connecting to the Remnant computer systems throughout the game has imprinted subconsious directions into Ryder's brain. But Ryder died 3 times in this game, with nosebleeds to underscore. I really hope they follow up with some sort of...limitation in sequels. Although they'll probably just keep it as Ryder's Achilles heel. She'll permanantly die without SAM in her head.

I know most of the time people say the Inquisitor is bland, and for the most part, I kinda agree. Thing is, when you did get the "Confused, sad, mad" dialogue choices, they WERE drastically different dialogue lines. Just like Diplomatic, Sarcastic, and Aggressive were very different dialogue choices for Hawke. The few times I did replay a scene as Ryder, I did not see too much difference between Pro and Heart (both seemed to be inspiring morale boosters). I think the strongest difference I saw was between logical and Casual; both could sound like you didn't give a shit about the character you were talking to; Flavor was Spock vs Bro. But the comment I've seen said elsewhere is that, in the end, it is 2-4 options of "yes, I'll do that." The only mission I wanted to turn down all game? Was when Sloane asked me to back her up. The closest to no was, "I don't know" and she told me to suck it up and help her anyway. The closest to no when it came to PB joining was also, "I'm not sure." The illusion of choice can only go so far, don't even bother giving me dialogue that makes me think I can choose. Which, newsflash: NOT ONE SINGLE optional companion? Really? Also... I would really have loved to have seen Auto Dialogue affected by personality/dialogue choices. The fact that my professional/logical Ryder would turn round and say some really dumb illogical casual shit for auto dialogue was immersion breaking and kinda disappointing. I know DAI doesn't have that, which is like I'm holding MEA up to a higher standard but-- MEA gave 2-4 options of responses with Personality symbols every time. So it kinda weirds me out they didn't go the awesome that could be Hawke's auto dialogue by adding a tracking system for what you chose and changing a few lines of auto dialogue. What comes to mind is Ryder's comment: "Well, Scan them back!"

Battle mechanics: I started as Operative to get Tact Cloak, but I'd wish I'd gone Engineer off the bat and just put my first points into Cloak when I got them. That little ball of shock energy was a newbie players friend by a huge margin.
Cloak never left my arsenal. For half the game I had overload and that missle but when I got Zap, I switched the missle out for him. He was the BEST baddie distraction ever. Baddies would be screwing with him for long stretches of time and I could just shoot them from behind, revive party members, reload ammo. HE also had better aim and did, IMO, significant damage. At that point, I was just a very sad panda at being limited to 3 abilities, because I missed my fire/overload combos.
I avoided Biotics altogether, because I don't care what SAM can do. If I'm biotic, I want to be able to RP that with dialogue. I REALLY hope that DA4 doesn't blur the lines of what it's like to be a mage any further. If I have magic, I want people to treat me like a mage. The end.
Auto Cover was about 75% consistent. I prefer the choice of hitting a button. I also never found the shoulder switching to be useful. I approve of just being able to shove your gun over the edge and shoot at something, even if that's not realistic. ;P And I liked the Jump Smash. A lot.

Saying my Ryder wasn't close to Dad was about 80% supported. Some of the auto dialogue sounded a bit more emotional than I would have liked, but it wasn't too hard to play a ,"We weren't close, at all, because Alec was Alec. but I kinda wish we HAD had a relationship where I could gush about him like I loved him."
Scott sounded like he LOVED Dad though, in his dialogue. So now I'm worried that if I play Scott, I'll hear Sara being overly emotional about Dad and it'll be immersion breaking. Does the game save my Sara's responses to those questions so she acts more...quiet during those scenes? I bet not. I can hope though.

By the end of the 108 hours, I did start noticing that Asari were all looking the same. But I also couldn't really tell the difference between Salarians either. And the only normal looking Turian in the whole game was Kaetus.
By the end of the game, Alec's decision to transmit SAM to his kid made more sense. For one, Cora was obviously still emotionally unstable with unresolved rejection issues. In spite of her training, she wasn't Pathfinder material (IMO) Additionally, the "secrets" Alec wanted to pass information forwards on was SAM and he wanted those secrets to go to someone he could trust. Regardless of whether the child was close to teh father, he knew them their whole lives. If he couldn't trust his own kid, no one would be good enough.
The game then screams at you with all the Ark missions that eveyrbody was second choice and you're doing great so...
Speaking of. Sarissa is my favorite Pathfinder, Raeka is 2nd place, and the Turian one I can't remember the name of is, obviously, underwhelming.
I'd like to get the ARK missions sooner so I can interact with them more, ut maybe standing listlessly around Pathfinder HQ is all they do anyway.

phorayI think it's good that you can turn down or get rid of some companions if you would like to do so, but I can never not take on all companions or get rid of them...I just MUST have everybody with me and alive no matter how much I don't like them (even Viv) I messed myself up by ever being an Infiltrator. After that, I have a very hard time giving up the ability to see my enemies behind things...it's helped me love being a sniper more than ever.

I'm getting better at telling companions no with replays. I've now said no to Zevran, Shale, Alistair at end game... I actually enjoy all the optional characters in DA2 except Seb, and I can see myself just not doing his quest in the future. And I just recently said No to Iron Bull. Not that I dislike him he's just obviously a spy I have to actually pay money to, so I let the Quiz history decide. I want to say no to Viv in the future as well, simply by not accepting her invitation.

On Havarl, I believe there is a generator behind a house. You scan it and SAM says a part is actually broken. Ryder: "can you do anything about that SAM?" SAM: "sure Pathfinder. Beep boop. Presto." Uh, no. I know this is like year 2800, but software can only bypass so much hardware. And this is a friggen generator, does it even have software to bypass? Same with the issues at Meridian, where we're software bypassing electrical conduits. ??

we never really did see Vetra follow through on her promise to push that guy's kid to the front of the line. However, considering what a big deal it was every time the Pathfinder did it? I find it hard to believe she ever did. Although there were rumors that politics more than needs got people woke from Cryo so, maybe? eh? Kind of a stretch. The whole scene was to make Vetra seem super smooth, but from the get go it just made me think she was shady. o-o And she maintains her shadiness to the end. At least it was only smuggling and not murder... at least... I think so... I approve of the Black Emporium equivalent and used it a couple times to help change to color of my tattoo from black to red again. However, I don't know if it's cuz I just tweaked a preset and went or what, but I was 99% satisfied with the facial animations matching what I thought they should be for the rest of the game. Sometimes Sara seemed to eat her lips (I caught lots of screen shots that way) but it was rarely seen in full motion. Other cosmestics- I'd like my skin tight armor with shielding in just the right places please. I only liked the appearance of one armor set the entire game (Pathfinder) and it only had the first tier. IT looked like my Ryder was a small child buried in armor almost the rest of the time. I liked the Jacket, I hear it's not available for Scott (too bad.) and I would like the fuzzy sweater pants to be thrown out. Wouldn't it have been cool to be wearing jeans? And I'd like a casual sexy outfit like the dress from ME3 (well, maybe not QUITE as skin tight and skimpy) please and thank you.
