I liked Havarl, it was strikingly different and very pretty. That said being constantly attacked every 10 seconds became damn annoying especially on higher difficulties. The attacking, the re spawning Roekaar even after I resolved that story line, the map being small and dense made it confusing to get around. No Nomad, which I get for realism, but I didn't enjoy the walking/running battling and wanted to skip it and just go places. Started using Tactical Cloak + Run every time I went there to avoid the combat. Nearly everyone on the BSN seems to speak of respawning enemies. I can honestly say I've not experienced this. Enemies only respawn for me if I leave the planet and return. Otherwise, I don't experience respawning at all. For instance, once I kill the roekarr, they're gone for good, unless I go off world and return. The random kett encounters on Voeld pretty much cease after their base is destroyed. The random Exile/Collective encounters on Kadara continue; but you gain one faction as allies once the power struggle is resolved. (I even see some of these allies later on Elaaden.) I really enjoy the random encounters, anyway, since I think the combat mechanics in this game are nearly perfect. I certainly don't consider them respawns, in the traditional sense, but rather random encounters. I agree with many of your criticisms and observations, phoray. I believe many of them are a direct result of the game being badly rushed and somewhat incomplete. Even some of the writing issues were likely caused by cut/unimplemented content. That happens with all games, but is somewhat worse with MEA. Now that a good story and mechanical foundation is laid, I'd love to see just how good a sequel could be. Sadly, I'm not confident that we'll ever see such a thing.

For some reason, game isn't letting me pull my weapon... so, let's turn it off and back on again. The Collector hide-out is a no-gun zone. Well, how nice of them to have a FIEND ATTACK ME THERE near the garden then.

Re: Mind Games: What the fuck... These better not be NExus Scientists.--- Oh, what a relief. It's Cerberus churl. Can I kill them? let's find out. --- what? So, essentially I have to kill three exiles to end their terribly immortal expeeriment? Fine. This Ryder has made hard decisions before. --- oh, that's not the decision presented. Ease the victims or revenge. Ease- Revenge. Ease-Revenge. ...ugh. Ease. By the way, I checked out those NPCs SAM and I "eased." Whatever- eased my ass, they're still nutjobs. I'm euthanizing them and killing the Cerberus scientists next time. I just did the quest again tonight. It's so contrived. The solutions offered are: 1. "Punish" the Cerberus scientists. 🙄 2. Ease the victims suffering. 3. "Or, I could just do nothing and walk away," as if goodie two-shoes autodialogue Ryder would even consider this, let alone suggest it. The obvious choice that is missing, for who knows what reason, is "Ease the victims suffering and shoot/detain the Cerberus scientists". The fact that I have to allow the racist mad scientists to walk free in order to help their victims is terrible writing. This quest is full of FAIL.

And option 3 is weirdly out of place-- I did a loooot of missions and I don't think "walk away whistling as evil continues in the background" is a viable personality profile for Ryder. Maybe choices like these got removed, and they forgot one. I also felt a bit lied to, because SAM said "ease" as in, the people will become mostly functional again. They are mostly non functional, and if it were reality, they would starve to death for lack of being able to take care of themselves. So, I'll head canon that SAM was far more explicit and that the kindest solution is actually to just kill the victims and then put a bullet in the mad scientists' heads.

Sadly, I'm not confident that we'll ever see such a thing. So, in DAI if you side Templars, the world becomes full of venatori mages. If you side mages, the world becomes full of red templars. If the leader of the Roekaar has lost face in front of his followers so badly they abandon him on the spot, there shouldn't be Roekaar any longer spawning on Havarl. I didn't know you got to keep one side as allies. I only did a few random encounters when I first got to Kadara and then avoided them ever since. According to the BioFAn subscription on YT, the game sold well. And I liked the game. I don't feel worried about it being continued. It is not so bad that I doubt a sequel by any means. I'm actually a bit worried they'll flop backwards and try to make Ryder into Shepard 2.0 (that ship has sailed, I feel.) I liked the Star Trek vibe it had going.

I certainly don't consider them respawns, in the traditional sense, but rather random encounters. Well I certainly had massive respawning issues on Havarl and Elaaden. Voeld Was the opposite, playing NG+ often more than 50% of the remnant and Kett sites would be completely empty.

The Bain Massani interaction was a problem before 1.09, you could be talking to him and random creatures would attack you and you couldn't disengage from the dialogue and would die!!!

I'm actually a bit worried they'll flop backwards and try to make Ryder into Shepard 2.0 (that ship has sailed, I feel.) I liked the Star Trek vibe it had going. I don't understand the DAI reference. I've played it, of course, I just don't understand your meaning in this case. Expecting all roekarr everywhere to lay down arms after Akksul is exposed isn't really realistic. It's a bit like expecting a real world terrorist organization to lay down arms after a prominent leader is killed or exposed. It will possibly weaken their morale, and hurt their recruiting, but some will still believe in the cause. I'd expect the roekarr to be significantly weakened in a sequel, if Ryder managed to undermine Akksul. That allows time for their organization to really feel the effects. I wasn't even thinking of that, though, when I talked about respawning. Many BSNers seem to be saying that enemies in a given area of a map respawn repeatedly, despite having been previously defeated. That's not at all my experience. The lack of respawning enemies actually struck me as an immersive quality from the time of my very first March 21st PT. I'd love to see DLC and a sequel; I'm just not hopeful. They were wisely non-commital before release, suggesting that they were taking a wait-and-see approach. The internet hate storm, greatly bolstered by their releasing an unfinished game, makes me think they may put ME on the shelf for a long time. Casey Hudson, who is now the BioWare GM, never even intended that there be more ME beyond the trilogy. MEA was likely (seems obvious to me) an effort to continue making money from a profitable IP. If that IP is now even somewhat likely to face a tidal wave of hate and opposition with each release, will they judge it worthy of continuing? I certainly can't say, but I feel sad and not at all optimistic. Regardless of EA's feelings, good or bad, BioWare themselves may be ready to move on without ME for the foreseeable future. I fear that the consensus could be that ME has run its course.

I avoided Biotics altogether, because I don't care what SAM can do. If I'm biotic, I want to be able to RP that with dialogue. I REALLY hope that DA4 doesn't blur the lines of what it's like to be a mage any further. If I have magic, I want people to treat me like a mage. The end. If you invest 1+ points in Biotics, in Cora's LM slightly different auto-dialogue is used. But that's probably all, as far as I can say. The jacket is available, the scarf isn't. When I saw SisRyder in gameplay videos, I thought that it was a DLC skin. From the perspective of a programmer, technically, users/operators do count as parts of information systems. And SAM had no choice, but to witness the scene, so the situation was equally awkward for all parties involved. Gil (and other crew members) has new dialogue lines as the game progresses. In this case, it's poker advises (about 5).
