Due out on Nov 28, 2017 per Titan Books website and Amazon, and co-authored by N.K. Jemisin and Mac Walters (didn't expect that one):
"The official prequel to the hit video game Mass Effect: Andromeda. Lieutenant Cora Harper joins the Andromeda Initiative, a mission to send a fleet of colonization arks to the Andromeda Galaxy, each carrying a different council race. When key data is stolen by unknown parties, Alec Ryder personally recruits Harper to retrieve it before it can be used against the Initiative. If she fails, the Andromeda mission may be crippled before it begins. Harper is a human who has trained with the asari squad known as Talein’s Daughters, under the direction of Nisira T’Kosh herself. Yet her training may not be enough when she discovers that she can trust no one—perhaps not even Ryder himself.
PRODUCT DETAILS ISBN: 9781785651601Dimensions: 4 3/16” x 6 7/8”Mass market paperback: 304pp Publication date: November 28 2017All authors: N. K. Jemisin , Mac Walters Electronic Arts / BioWare"
I know there was a thread floating around about the book but didn't see it mentioned the plot synopsis.
Add the fact that the final issue of "Discovery" got moved to late October makes you wonder if another book or even DLC will be wedged somewhere between now and N7 day.

Right? There is no word on "Annihilation" which was targeted at Sept 1st, so this appears to be the next book in the series. With "Discovery", with its Quarian-centered plot, ending near N7 day, I wonder if we see SP DLC at that point and maybe "Annihilation" comes out at the beginning of 2018

September first was most likely a place holder date, and since there is no word from titan about pre-ordering it who knows when (or if) the book will be released. Well she did trust Alec by the beggining of the game. ....i want this book now. But crap I'm still working through A Song of Ice and Fire. You have until november to read it.

There you go, now you know what happens. No need to read any further. Just kidding. I read the first book and never touched the series since. I have no idea what happens after that. Is there a plot synopsis of the comics anywhere , btw?

You can usually find a synopsis of the comics in a Wikia...the "Discovery" series is pretty good so far but will wait almost 3 more months for the final issue

Every Andromeda book or comic seems to contain some plot relating to a dark secret or something about the Andromeda Initiative. Damn, is the organisation really that shady?

The "Mysterious Benefactor" is at least...they seem to be center of everything that is sinister about the Initiative.

Every Andromeda book or comic seems to contain some plot relating to a dark secret or something about the Andromeda Initiative. Damn, is the organisation really that shady? It's reasonably clear just from the game itself that the involvement of the Benefactor was part of some other agenda that subsumed the AI's original objectives. Those objectives still exist but there's a much larger aspect to it now.

Psyched!
I love game novels, and I love seeing things before the game itself. Cora is a very interesting character.

I still haven't finished Nexus Uprising. I got about 90% of the way through the book, but the more I grew to like Sloane's character, they more annoyed I got that Bioware ruined her in the game itself. I guess I'll finish it at some point but I've moved on to the Witcher books for the time being. I'm optimistic about this new book tho because (a) I like Cora and ( it's set in the Milky Way.

I think Mac Walters input could be the same role as Rian Johnson's input for Star Wars: Bloodline. As in "story ideas and elements" making sure everything lines up, cause for some reason he wants to put his name on this project as opposed to Nexus Uprising or even Annihilation. Like I have a feeling a certain Benefactor might be involved. Though, Johnson's input isn't officially credited. I have concerns about Annihilation (we know it's still coming, so there is that) that we have a synopsis for this when Initiation is months away when something like Annihilation is supposedly less then a month away.

I know it was referenced as being a part of Titan Books catalog but, when I checked the link, I didn't see it listed. To me, it looks like "Initiation" will be the next book and "Annihilation" will come out later. Like was stated previously, the "Discovery" comic series, which deals with the Andromeda Initiative and its Quarian involvement, has been pushed back to Oct 28. So, it seems to me anyway, that anything Quarian-related is being delayed.

Or maybe the Quarian one was always meant to be later, but, due to patching schedule and the shifting of studios, everything got pushed back. To me, since we learn about the Quarian's fate at the end of the game, it didn't make sense to me that the "Quarian" DLC would be first as you would have to complete the game to initiate the DLC. In this respect, it's like "Trespasser" from DA:I in which everything occurs post-game. I would think that a "Benefactor" DLC would make sense since you are learning about the Benefactor through memory triggers/encrypted audio logs and through Jien Garson's murder investigation. What if the intention was to have the Benefactor DLC first and then the Quarian DLC? Seems to be lining up that way..

The only reason why I have any interest is the ambiguous "don't rescue us" bit. What could be so bad that you don't want to be rescued? I think those should be reversed. Like, how in the Trespasser trailer Solas's first line was: "I suspect you have questions." I would rather have the Benefactor be post-ending and the Quarian's be the second dlc. In a perfect world, I would like to leave the Hyperion Ark and explore Meridian/Jardann a bit more and have another 100% viability quest line.

In a perfect world, I would like to leave the Hyperion Ark and explore Meridian/Jardann a bit more and have another 100% viability quest line. Well, frankly, it seems most of the storylines are meant for post-game...the Remnant/Jardaan, the Quarian Ark, and the Benefactor investigation. Seems like the the Quarian would be the immediate DLC just for the mere fact its mentioned almost immediately, as if its pointing you in that direction. Just seems odd that the Quarian-focused stuff is getting pushed back if that's the intention. With this new book, delving into Cora's and Alec's background, it just seems peripherally connected to the "Benefactor" but I could be wrong. However, maybe it would be better if it went in this order: 1) Quarian Ark DLC 2) Benefactor/Jien Garson's Murder Investigation DLC 3) Remnant/Jardaan DLC which could be set a couple of years after the end of the game where you are still the Pathfinder leading the investigation of the Remnant Vaults and you begin to get indications that the Jardaan are aware of their activation along with perhaps introducing the new Kett threat on its way led by the Primus

I've read all the Ice and Fire books and the writing is of a higher standard than for churned out game or movie tie-ins. People who think the Star Wars EU novels are sterling examples of great genre fiction may disagree with me though.
