At this point, it's the only reason why my game ever crashes, and it's frustrating to deal with. The fact that I have to be careful on what map I play on with Kett is really troubling. For those who don't know, some players (including myself) have encountered an crash issue involving the Fiend on Gold. Essentially, when the Fiend does his charge to swipe at you, once the swipe animation is in effect it freezes your game. This happens when you're in relatively close proximity to the Fiend, or when it attacks a nearby ally within the same range. This problem is excarbated when you play against Kett on Paradox; where it's far more likely to occur. The fiend was completely broken from the start of concept. Who makes and enemy so large that it cannot fit indoors and then make a bunch of indoors and/or small maps? Their fix wasn't to go back and rethink the whole thing. Someone said "I know! we could just make him teleport when he got stuck and we could give him a sync kill". Someone else said "genius!". I'm really not sure why there is even a fiend in this game in light of the fact that every aspect of it is broken. Only fix I could see to the crash problem is by removing it. Why wasn't the behemoth the enemy in the place of the fiend? He fits better all the way around.

Can confirm. Happened twice in the gold apex. My friend hosted and got froze. Gave the host to me and I froze on 7. 5/7 will bang, working as intended, biovar plz

To be fair to Bioware the Fiend does kind of smash the doorways up a little bit before phasing through them.

What you need to do is set your xbox to long startup. It has frozen only once since I did that, and that was after 10 hours nonstop play. Patience is a virtue.

That`s what I`ve been saying. lol His vertical location teleportation has been reduced since patch 1.09 though... I can see him jumping up and down more often.....but far from being always..

You can also manually clear it, after which you get a long startup, if you want to keep the fast reboot for other games. But my guess is it drains the system as well, not to mention power.

That really sucks; I'm glad this issue doesn't occur on PC. However, the combined effects on Gold+ matches gets out of control and really makes my frame rate fluctuate. You can't tone it down through any settings. Most games at least have the option in a config file. Not here, nope.

Last night proved me wrong. Apparently I was just extremely lucky to have been crash-free for over a month. Game froze on the 4th match; Kett Aqua. It was an incredibly buggy game from the start though, and Aqua is known to have issues with Kett. So I'm still sticking by my advice, just make sure you avoid that combination regardless.

Is this issue on Xbox only? I've never faced this on PS4...
My main problem is with the Ascendant... Lag does hilarious things to this guy and it somehow affects everyone in the match...
1 - Invincible Ascendant : you destroy the orb, nothing happens, the shield doesn't go down. It takes 2-3 orb destruction for the shield to FINALLY go down
2 - Orb less Ascendant : yes you read that right, an Ascendant without orbs. The only way we were able to fix this is for someone to sacrifice himself and let the bastard sync kill him. After the kill animation, the orb was back...
3 - Telekinetic sync kill: I enter a room in Firebase Zero, find an Ascendant inside, I quickly jump out, find two mooks who I kill, then proceed to practically the other side of the map to help my teammates. That is when I suddenly see the Ascendant perform his sync kill animation on pure "air" and I get executed at the other side of the map... I swear, there was a good 10-15 seconds between me exiting the room and him taking me down. And the worse thing is that I didn't have much lag in this match!
So yeah no crashes for me but lots and lots of Ascendant-related frustration...
