Motive Studios is currently co-developing SW Battlefront 2 & an Untitled Star Wars Game along with DICE and Visceral Games respectively. They're working under EA who owns both BioWare and the Mass Effect IP so it might not be impossible considering BW Montreal merged with them.
Thoughts?

Motive Studios made the story for Star Wars Battlefront II (while DICE made the multiplayer and Criterion made the vehicles). I have no idea what Motive's involvement is with Visceral's Star Wars game (Amy Hennig is writing the story), but Motive Studios is also tied to that Star Wars game. They are 100% all in on Star Wars. Mass Effect is a BioWare IP, and it will remain a BioWare IP. Unless BioWare Edmonton decides to do "MEA2," that will be the only situation we will get another Mass Effect game.

No, I.P is back in Edmontons hands.
However, the I.P can be given to Motive in the future. Technically the answer is always a yes...thats up to EA and BioWare really.

Doubtful cause motive isn't affiliated with the "bioware brand". Edmonton or a new studio would be the next developer of the new ME.

Doubtful. BioWare and the Mass Effect IP are so closely intertwined it'd be almost impossible to market without the BioWare name.

It's way too early to tell. I think there may be another Mass Effect game at some point, but I don't think it will be a sequel to Andromeda. And by the time it happens, who knows which studio it will come from. I am basing this prediction off information I pulled out of my arse, but there you have it.

Saying it now. Mark my words: Watch where Drew Karpyshyn and Casey Hudson takes up residence and stay. Knowing the latter guy it is most likely he will want to get back in control of the ME franchise sooner or later. Sure he may be just a general manager now but wait for the future: Casey Hudson is still in control: media.giphy.com/media/SrYrzsQO06Rj2/giphy.gif..... .... ... .. . media0.giphy.com/media/fAjKfzwV39Jcs/giphy.gifThough that being the case and there is just two main Bioware studios now: Edmonton and Austin right? More likely than not that Austin will focus on SWTOR and ANTHEM. While Edmonton will focus on ANTHEM and either Mass Effect or Dragon Age but I doubt all 3. Either way the latter is again a crap shoot. media.giphy.com/media/ouGtNGn51pEFa/giphy.gif

Not saying it will or wont but from what little we have seen of Anthem it's to early to tell.

Bioware Montreal - No. EA Motive - Almost certainly no. Austin - Probably not. Edmonton (to release after Anthem and DA4) - Maybe. New Studio - Maybe.
I don't expect any ME game until at least 2020-2021, and I think 2022-2023 is possible. There is no studio to make a ME game before 2020 (as in 2019, the earliest I thought we'd ever see a game). And the one that does it, is more likely Edmonton, after Anthem is covered (and potentially a new studio is made just for it). As they finish Anthem and get into later development of Dragon Age, they can pick up development of a Mass Effect.
My guess.
I just hope Edmonton and/or Austin is doing MEA DLC (2-3 of them).

Personally I think EA will open another BioWare studio sooner rather then later, they may even restart BioWare Montreal just with different staff. I just hope if the management issues were true that they take more care in staffing the studio then what the current impression of how it was with Andromeda. Of course EA might just start a third team in Edmonton as well, but I only see that happening is if they get tax breaks like other provinces currently have. @op. No way they would give Mass Effect to a non-BioWare studio, besides Motion is in full crunch mode with Battlefront 2 and other projects. I could see them wanting to use some of the experience to try and make something similar to a BioWare game, I just don't see them taking a BioWare IP. I doubt it. Ever since BioWare joined EA, all they've done is close down studios. Around 2010 or 2011, BioWare was put in charge of EA's entire RPG department, known as the "BioWare group." They had about seven studios under them (including Edmonton, Montreal, and Austin). All of those other studios have since shut down, like BioWare Mythic, BioWare Victory, BioWare San Francisco, and Waystone Games. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BioWare#StructureWith BioWare Montreal's recent merging with Motive Studios, as well as a change in leadership from Aaryn Flynn to Casey Hudson, I suspect BioWare will stay small and focus on two studios (Edmonton and Austin) with fewer projects. They've already proven quality drops when they try to do too many games at the same time. I'd rather they just stay where they currently are, ideally. I agree. Plus, I think it's more likely will get Anthem 2 then MEA2. Consider the fact that DA4 is or will be next in development and also; EA seems to think Anthem will be knocked out of the park. Both financially and crtically. I'm not so sure about "Anthem 2." Unless BioWare just piggybacks off of what Bungie is doing, which they haven't claimed Anthem will be a trilogy like Destiny is, I expect Anthem to be one game that runs for 10 years (if EA gets what it wants). I suspect that once Anthem is done, a portion of Edmonton will be allocated to support the service for the long-term. However, I anticipate the bulk of the studio to move onto DA4, and then potentially MEA2, if Casey Hudson decides to put ME back in the pipeline. Austin is going to be committed to SWTOR for the forseeable future. They did try to do a prototype for a KOTOR game a few years ago. If BioWare Austin ever does another game other than SWTOR, I suspect it will be a single player BioWare Star Wars RPG.

There will be multiplayer involved. There will always be multiplayer involved.
But sure, not 'MMORPG'.
