If MEA would have been a huge success it might have been a different story. This is my take/hunch on the thing. I can only say No Man's Sky. They also screwed up royally with their initial release, but they keep supporting it and to add content. That's a company, not only offering an apology, but showing that they still care. As opposed to MEA. They ironed the bugs and glitches out and called it a day. They didn't provide additional content - the sweaty sports attire really doesn't fall into that category - and called it a day. Who cares about a plethora of lose threads anyway? Success or not. A company shows their real colors when their product isn't a success.

Alright...
Which one of you was it that said, quite a while back, that the only thing that might stand a chance at changing their opinion was a backlash the size and consistency of Take Back ME3?
I haven't been there. I will openly admit that I have not been there for Taking It Back. But how many of you genuinely wished for a DLC?! How many of you loved the story and the characters? How many are, even now, deeply invested in the story?
Someone look at the clock! The time may be half past FUBAR, but look again. You are not alone. There are many people who enjoyed the game. The vocal majority that would slander everything about the game is only a majority because they are the most vocal. The old saying applies - a happy customer will tell a few friends. An unhappy customer will tell everyone he or she can. That clock revolves, and with enough pressure, it may just reach the dawn hours once again.
It's time we stopped being carried onward. It's time we carried onward ourselves!
Say it with me: Save the Initiative!

I didn't love the story or characters, but I saw the wasted potential. I would have paid for a DLC. If for no other reason then to wrap up the lose threads. No, I don't mean the Quarians, but Garsson, benefactor and maybe Ryder mom. I would have loved for them making use of the potential the game showed in all it's blandness.

A company shows their real colors when their product isn't a success. Spot on, as much as I have no interest in a DLC or MEA:2 myself, I think it is a massive shame that EA/Bioware didn't at least put out one DLC, even at a loss that would close off the story for those who liked MEA. Financial losses can be recouped, but shafting the fans who stuck with them like this costs reputation and trust, which is far more difficult than money to re-acquire. So while I'm personally hoping for them to start working a new ME story with zero connection the MEA, doing it this fashion is something I am still going to be holding against them. Oh and has anyone checked the recent reviews on Steam for No Man Sky? 3800 Mostly positive, something I'm seriously considering getting next time its no sale.

Hello Games can make those content updates for years to improve the game and keep afloat. That is a big difference

That is a big difference I would have made the opposite conclusion, a small indie game company doesn't have the money to pull in from other projects to support ones in difficulty nor do they have a long term brand status to maintain, they can easily fold an re-establish under a different name.
