I hereby do proclaim that no one must criticize the Mass Effect lore until they have memorized the entire Codex, because playing the games and reading the novels doesn't impact understanding, and anything else is the uninformed opinion of a gaming philistine. Never said I don't care about the lore. Nice strawman, though. Actually, I was going for some positive spin there, not a strawman. If you don't care about the lore, then not understanding the lore is a natural place to end up. I still don't understand how playing the game doesn't make everyone realize that ships can go between stars without relays. Even if you skip the relevant conversations, the SR2 travels between stars without relays all the time. You can't complete ME2 or ME3 without doing that. (Haven't read the novels, so can't comment.) Do you always get like this when people point out that you don't know what you're talking about? (For the record, it was ProbeAway who called you out on this; I just pointed out that it's a surprisingly common error.) Probeaway said nothing to me except a simple statement of correction (which I "liked"). No issue with that. You used a fallacious statement of mine - since corrected on all sites where I posted my review - to posit that I had no right to critique ME lore. Then you're surprised I'm pissed? Or were you trying to be funny? Because I do lack a sense of humor sometimes. Print media doesn't help in that regard. I think the confusion comes from the "event" that galaxy travel is made to be in the OT versus MEA. OT: Click destination, cutscene plays of engines spooling up, Normandy hitting the relay MEA: Click destination, hear engines spooling up, see an animation of FTL travel. I think people who are confused assume (as I did) that since the event of travel is similar, so is the distance traveled - even if there is only one system at the end of the journey instead of the option to visit several systems.

Ah, don't worry. I just saw that the FIRST Witcher somehow made your list. I could barely believe my eyes. What can I say? I love that game. Used to play it so much. Introduced me to the Witcher-verse, inspired me to read the books. Might be time to re-visit it, actually. Though when I finally get around to TW3 it'll probably bump TW1 off the list. Heh. Yup. All the power to you then. I wouldn't put Andromeda in my Top 10. My all-time top 10 rpg/rpg hybrid games goes like this 1. Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn/Throne of Baal 2. Mass Effect 3 3. Fallout 2 4. Knights of the Old Republic 5. Tomb Raider(reboot) 6. GTA: London 1969 7. Fallout 4 8. Mass Effect 2 9. Saints Row IV: Reelected 10.GTA: San Andreas Yeah, well... With that list, it's easy to see where you're coming from and appreciate the fine choices. Andromeda didn't make it for you because look, all of those are great. Go ahead, look at the PC Gamer list. They chose trash.

For me; 1. Baldur's Gate 2 2. KOTOR 3. ME3 (disregarding the ending) 4. DA:O 5. ME2 6. ME 7. Baldur's Gate 8. Diablo 2 9. DA2 10. League of Legends... (Sue me ) You might wonder why Da Witchah 3 is not on the list, but it's simply because Geralt, both character itself and voice acting, is so fucking bland and seemingly written to young teens, and I cannot for the love of god connect or feel anything with him... Honorable mentions: Witcher 3, Tomb Raider reboots, StarCraft 1 & 2, Diablo 1, WarCraft 1-3, GTA 1, Icewind Dale, Max Payne 1-3, Life is Strange. DA:I and ME:A aren't on my list, unfortunately. They were overall solid games imo - but the MMO style just killed it for me, making it a complete chore 80% of the time... Other 20% was pretty good, not great, but good.

I'm not really one to do a hitparade of gaming. I liked a lot of games and favored them at a time. I also played a lot of less than convincing games. MEA is in that list, I have to say. A first with Bioware. But I'm also among the lucky ones who never played an outright trainwreck of a game. Here ya go. This is a massive trainwreck of a game. (I'd be tempted to compare it to Plan 9 from Outer Space)

The real atrocity is having a shit port like Dark Souls at number 2. Hell, Capcom did a far superior job porting Dragon's Dogma. See I outright hated Dark Souls 2. Then again I has Scholar of the First Sin, which was the updated version with bullshit difficulty, so that could be why. Even then, I wouldn't rate Dark Souls 2 as a bad game per se. Was I disappointed, yeah, because I love the Dark Souls series. (Demon's Souls oddly enough being my favorite in some respects)

Yeah I don't really rank gasmes but of the games I own whilst I think MEA would miss out on top 5 (only just though) I would almost certainly put it in my top 10 as I would put it 6 or 7 for me but below my top 3 I find it tricky to judge.

Don't see much of a point to lists. The only thing that matters to me is what games I like to play. Not what some magazine, website, or opinionated loudmouth on some forum says what I am allowed to like or dislike.

It's not bad at all, it's just very different from 1 and 3. I'm currently playing SOTFS and really enjoying it so far. As a PC port, it is vastly superior to DS1, all credit to From Soft for listening to feedback (Not perfect, but it's completely playable on LB+M). Lore-wise, it is somewhat disconnected from the other games (I played 3 first and then 1, so my thoughts on the lore were skewed somewhat). The atmosphere is totally different as well, many areas have bright colour palettes, which seem out of place in a Souls game. They're beautiful, don't get me wrong, but just very... different. It has a few of gameplay differences as well, the most annoying being ADP as a stat that governs rolling i-frames, but that is easily solved with minimal stat investment and spending more time outspacing enemies rather than rolling, and the combat then becomes fun again. TL;DR get SOTFS if possible. I've not played vanilla DS2 so I can't help with deciding on that.

What is suprising is that ME1 or 3 didn't make it to the list or Dragon Age Origins It's a best PC games list that has no mentions of the Sims. You know, PC Gamer, that franchise which is one of the best selling PC games of all time? I don't really think it can be taken that seriously at this point.

It's SOTFS. I haven't played any Dark Souls game yet, so it being different might not bother me half as much as it does a longtime fan of the series.
