I've been experimenting with a Havoc Trooper for platinum runs, cycling between 6 (double incinerate) 5366 and 16666 builds. This kit has insane DPS (powers & accuracy enhanced Piranha) and DR (aerial assault passive). For the HSol and TSol, 200DR kicks in only when you're screwed/compromised and your health has already dropped to dangerous lows. The aerial Havoc Trooper has 150 DR in air and 100 while evading, that her health does not drop to a dangerous low, in the first place. A stitch in time saves nine!
On the same note, I could have sworn i took the Hydra cluster missile and the ascendant's death dome simulaneously while i was dancing in the air and managed to remain alive. It could have been a glitch. But, it makes me wonder if the DR stacks, a.k.a 150 (aerial) + 100 (evasion), when you're evading/dancing in the air. Pedroelm, can you confirm? Do the numbers indicate that you could survive a combo hit of the Hydra missile cluster and the ascendant's death dome when you're dancing in the air?

The Ascendant's ball should have dropped all of your shields since it ignores DR, right?
Was the Hydra under any damage debuff effect from your teammates like Snap Freeze (Rank 6B Degradation), Flamethrower (6B Blinding Heat), Overload + Tech Sabotage, or Avenger Strike (5B Flash Strike)?

Could not have been debuffed. It was just me and another human infiltrator (who does not have anything to reduce enemy damage). Where can i look up damage numbers on enemy attacks? Are they listed somewhere?

It lists 972 platinum for the ascendant's death dome and 389 for Hydra's rocket. Is this the number for the whole rocket cluster? (can't be right). But, if its right, i guess one would survive the slaughter if he had 250 DR. It may have registered the ascendant's attack (which bypasses DR, according to the stat sheet) after the hydra's attack.

She might be better than other two if played perfectly, but it can also be extremely annoying from time to time.

When you took the Ascendant's bubble and the Hydra's missile cluster, on which difficulty was it?
On Bronze, Silver and Gold, there's the Shield Gate mechanic where you're invulnerable for a small amount of time when your Shield drops. If you were lucky enough to get all of these with the right timing, it could explain you surviving this.
There might have a Health Gate too (like ME3 MP), but I don't have any confirmation on this one.
There's no Shield Gate on Platinum.

Are we basing this entire statement on the fact you floated and survived a couple boss attacks?.....because human sol has the largest potential for total damage output of all kits simply because frag grenades are so awesome. I fucking love havoc...but only up she has is dot from flak and incineration, and thats only when fighting bosses on platinum since dot is wasted on everything else.

But in order to get said DR you sacrifice permanent boosts to health and shields. 'Tis my only gripe.

Frags don't do listed damage if you fail to aim/cock it. The time required to cock it would have been better spent unloading your Piranha/Shorty perhaps. Havoc doesn't have problems like that. You can unload your accuracy enhanced beastly Piranha (from hover, irrespective of TC's cooldown) and spam flaks/double incinerate all day long. Add an insane amount of DR to it and the havoc's a superior kit. Hovering in platinum requires one to GIT GUT, which is perhaps why TSOLs and HSOLs are better appreciated among the masses. Well, making a transition from the scrub cloak army to a HSOl itself is a miracle in Scrubville's platinum lobbies. So, I won't criticize such a platinum miracle.

Enemy damage on the master book sheet is per hit, as that is the only way that makes sense to list it.
Flak Cannon is what makes havoc good. Aerial DR is ok

Is this true? I've never seen this before. I was under the impression that the only purpose of "cooking" a frag grenade was to control where it detonated.

Unless he meant what I gathered from "if you fail to aim/cook it": Sure, if you fail to aim, you miss and don't do the weapon's listed damage. In fact, you don't do any damage at all. Same goes for cooking the wrong distance... #nopunintended

The latter implies reduction. But this is also coming from someone who's convinced himself the Piranha is amazing, and has a general track record of frankly artless trolling, so I'm not gonna waste too much time trying to figure out what's going on (or not) in his head. Havoc and H/TSol are all solid on Plat by virtue of survivability and Flak/Frags, respectively. None of them blows the others away; whether one has a slight edge is entirely subjective.

No argument there! Edit: Also, maybe there was a little pun intended... There is no slight edge, its simply the fact a enemy still alive does damage to you and your squad. Gold mooks depending on faction are 1 grenade (remnant) to 2 (outlaws, frog people). Flak cannon is not 100% accurate, and at times unreliable for doing damage. 1-2 frags into a spawn and i'm on my way to another cluster, I almost ALWAYS have to clean up after flak cannon. Cooking grenades is only useful for out of reach enemies, or enemies in a "no-bounce" area of a map. in any situation a player has to cook a grenade, flak cannon would usually fail as well to deliver. Flak cannon cannot hit an enemy in cover ABOVE a player unless they reflect the shrapnel off another area. Frags don't have that issue. Also the staggering, shield breaking, CONSTANT power detonating, mook disabling properties of Concussive shot are completely overlooked. Repetitive CS > anything incinerate. Cooldowns in this game is a drawback. Its the only reason Chunky Cheeks even is UR worthy. Human Soldier is the best overall class in the game. May not be the preferred to some, but preference does not equal performance and efficiency.
