People like their customizable homes in RPGs, so I think we'll have some kind of home base in the game.
And while I wouldn't expect another castle, it might be a manor, or a secret base, or maybe something mobile (like a ship), etc..

Whatever it is, I want upgrades to the Keep to mean something. If I invest the resources, give me a few mini-games (a gambler's den would be a great place), or let it mean something in the game world. If it's something small, than by all means, make it purely aesthetic. But let my choices mean something.

Ideally, I'd like them to continue giving us a couple bases that we unlock as the story progresses (Gamlen's house to the Hawke Estate, Haven to Skyhold). In addition to the main base(s), camps out in the world could also be taken a little further than Inquisition, becoming a place where we could not only fast travel and replenish supplies, but also stop and interact with our companions, like in Origins. Like I said, ideally  A secret base does sound very cool as well. |

Camp -> Mansion -> Castle
Each game has given the player a bigger home. A customizable township would be cool.
But in all likelihood, I expect another castle of sorts. They've done it twice now in Awakening and Inquisition, and fans have seemed to enjoy both.

Maybe we'll get a floating aravel like the ones in Last Flight.  Airships could be fun! Especially if the Veil gets destroyed and you have to navigate the Fade or die. |

I would love a smaller, more personable Skyhold kind of situation. A fixer-upper manor in Minrathous or something. I'm not opposed to a boat-base, everyone seems to be doing it recently anyway.

Like I said, ideally A secret base does sound very cool as well. This. I like having a home/base, and its good for doing cinematic convos to have a set location. But I really miss being able to talk to companions outside of home base and having camp locations that you can talk to companions at would be a good for that. I'd also like for camps to not be these permanent locations that your agents/soldiers maintain for you forever. I'd rather carry camp with you so to speak, have certain set locations where you can put it, then you take it down when you leave. So like, you click on a spot in a clearing and it sets a camp area that you can interact with your companions, craft, resupply, heal etc in, then you click the same spot to dismantle when your done. |

We're supposed to be spies, I don't get owning whole castles or houses. And unlike Awakening or Skyhold which require you to have a Title to be able to rule over but never own... the Hawke mansion was a family building for a prominent Noble family. It only works for people who aren't hiding their (most likely human) face.

Spies? I never got the impression that we're going the sneaky route. I imagine us as being a spy newly hired by Inquisition or a Rebellious Ex Slave. Both need to keep on the down low with cover until they blast onto the scene. So, Boats, rented Tavern rooms, secret rebel base/hideout. I also imagine we could "work" for the Magister Dorian, and just get a room of one of his mansions. |
