Interesting if true. We'll have to wait and see I suppose. I don't mind playing human only if it is for the story, and a human protagonist seems like they would fit in best if it is set in Tevinter.

I have been thinking that we would only get a human protagonist, since the second Inquisitor stabbed Tevinter on the map at the end of Trespasser. But a dwarf can be fitted in the story as well since dwarves have relations with every nation.

Hopefully someone made it up, because the story sounds ridiculous. Giant "Salos" throwing fireballs? Yeah, sure...
And no word about Inquisition? Some Tevinter guy being powerful enough to just go for Solas and capture/kill or save him. But why would he save him if this "Salos" proved to be a murderous madman who wants to destroy everything and kill everyone? This sounds like a bad storytelling and I'm suprised that anyone actually liked it.
">there's a CC filter on being homosexual, heterosexual or bi and influence some dialogue line as well as romance options" - And why not just give player an option in dialogue to determine that? No need for CC filter. This is clearly made up.
Here's to hope BioWare has got better ideas...

the OP in the /v/thread responsible for the "leak" OP 10/03/17(Tue)18:08:43 No.392251858▶ >>392251648 >is this the final Dragon Age No, if all goes well then we'll have three more games after DAR >what about the Inquistor He's been relegated to reference role and won't appear in game.If this leak has any shred of truth to it, then of all the ridiculous things mentioned, this is the worst, imo. As a Solasmancer, there are many things I would like to see happen. I can live quite happily without most of them. Proper closure is something that would be difficult to go without. Perhaps that makes me selfish. So be it.

True or not, I have to say I almost wept of joy with the description of Minrathous. If they are taking one thing from TW3 as inspiration, the city of Novigrad is definitely a good choice. But then again, this might not happen at all. It's really hard for me to imagine Bioware actually managing to create a breathing, living city with NPCs that aren't rocks.
And don't kill me, but the protagonist possibly being human only is honestly really appealing to me. Hawke is still my favorite protagonist in all DA games for a reason. I also like the idea of having a last name that people will mention, because it makes things way more personal than having NPCs and companions calling you by your title (if we'll have any at all in DA4). But Lanius? What the heck kind of name is that? I smell BS...
Also, I don't mind having only 7 companions, that's what I've been wishing for anyway. And I don't see what's the problem with having people attacking your companions if it makes sense for the story. If you go to a place where qunari are hated then I'd be more frustrated if people didn't react at all just because he/she is with you.
Honestly, overall I'm liking what I'm reading, apart from a few weird things (Salos? Really?). Some of these things actually sound too good to be true (combat being more like DA2 with DAO tactics? My dream!). I'm not saying it's fake, it could very well be a very rough first draft of the game and many things may change, but if it's actually a genuine first draft, then I'd say they are going into the right direction in my opinion.

Apparently we get a qunari companion, but not being able to play as one?😑 Well, it does say that if you go anywhere near Minrathous with your qunari companion that you will be attacked, so. It wouldn't be much fun if you were playing as a qunari and couldn't even enter the city. Lol So at least not playing as a qunari makes sense for me, if this ends up being true of course. I don't see that anyone has mentioned the release date listed in the leak. Doesn't that just seem way too soon? March 2019 is less than 6 months after Anthem is supposed to release. It's only 18 months from now and they haven't even officially confirmed they are actually working on the game. That doesn't really mean anything, I think. Didn't Bethesda only announced Fallout 4 when it was 6 months away or something? Bioware could want to do the same thing. March 2019 is almost 5 years after DAI, I think more than that is a bit too much.

I don't suppose a Qunari would be welcome in Tevinter army. (Still speaking based on the suposed leak though)

Oh please! Dragon Age 2 battle mechanis were the most fun. Being a rogue and jumping all over the battle field was amazing. If it's true, the only thing that upsets me is that the main girl is again only for the male protagonist.
The protagonist being human doesn't make a difference to me since my canon choices of protagonists are always human, but I'm hoping to get a full set of protagonists, one of each race, in a single world.

Sounds plausible enough for someone to either have had information from a year back as they said, or give a good shot to fabrication. It can also be based off on something as old as DAI initial plan, because iirc it was supposed to be a longer game.
In terms of a release date, one year after Anthem is what i think this document was trying to say, because one year ago, Anthem was scheduled for March 2018 vs Fall 2018. So, the ETA will then move to Fall 2019 if Anthem is on schedule.
To me, personally, the release date means that Anthem can be completely skipped, because a number of games that are more traditional RP style were or will be released in 2016-2018 to play for a while without much repeats.
I am really disappointed that it is a human only, and that's the only companion leaked was Eva. Everything else is fine & I will be interested in trying this game if it is close to what they described.
I find it ironic that if this is true, the only way I will ever play as my favorite race is by having to play my least favorite BioWare game since NWN1. Which sucks. But if the upside is that the game is more like DA2 than like DA3, i am willing to live with it, even if I pout.

Devs have already said there'll never be a "homosexual toggle" where you can magically stop all same-sex content. I figure what they mean about the CC is that you'll be able to set your own sexuality in the CC, so if you're a lesbian noblewoman, maybe NPCs will reference that? I don't know.
If this leak is true, I like most of what I'm hearing. Especially about Minrathous and having at least one qunari and dwarf companion. My biggest disappointment stems from having a human-only PC who defaults to a mage, because....... we already had that with Hawke.

Yeah, this whole thing sounds like a bad Witcher fan fic. I know Inquisition swiped more than a few things from Skyrim, and I would be surprised if DA4 didn't take some inspiration from The Witcher 3, but this is ridiculous.

Maybe mages in DA4 will get extra dialogue and mentions like in DAI but I think that's about it.

Huh, the plot sounds like Michael Bay movie. And it directly contradicts what the devs said. In they've stated that Trespasser "sets up the future of the franchise", by which they mean the elements that will show up in the future: eluvians, qunari and ancient elves. Sooo... where are the eluvians? Where are the ancient elves (aside from Solas)? Also... dude - Maximus Decimus is the main character from Gladiator. Trololol...

Wait, wait...are they pulling the same thing from DA2 brother/sister again? One gets screwed over based on your class? *snip* A lot of this supposed leak reads as them doing the same thing as DA2. Just another reason it loses credibility since why would Bioware try to do another version of their least popular Dragon Age game? Kinda of what I thought as well. It sounds like DA2 rehashed. Which would be suicide for BW. I doubt they would ever do the human only protagonist again. They took so much flak for it in DA2. Then 60% of the game being a cityscape? No thank you... this is why people said DA2 was boring. Then the whole family thing has already been done in both DA2 and Andromeda. Did anyone seem to particularly like it? Most people who liked it got creepy about it and made mods to date their siblings. Some of the ideas are defintiely cool. But too many deal breakers to be real.

Doesn't necessarily mean that mage Hawke is better or fits the storyline better. I figure it will be the same here. Not necessarily a better story, but it says something about how they envision the character, if you know what I mean?

Bethany is a much better character than Carver, and her getting sent to the Circle puts a much more personal touch on the Mage/Templar conflict than Carver joining the Templars. I feel the game was best suited for a rogue or warrior. Even the title, Champion, doesnt sound like a mage title. I could go on, but with three apostate mage companions, the game already had plenty with Hawke being one too. DaI on the other hand seems to fit best with a human mage.

All I really meant was that I'm rolling my eyes at the idea that DA4's default protagonist may be yet another minor noble human mage, given that Amell, Hawke/Bethany, and mage Trevelyan already fill that niche...
