I like sarcastic Hawke's version myself.

Tallis: Champion of Kirkwall? Fancy title.
Hawke: The "Only One in Kirkwall not Completely Insane" was considered.
Tallis: So do you get a stipend? They let you rule the city?
Hawke: They gave me a medal. It's shiny.

Indeed, those specific lines from Hawke are spoken if aggressive/direct personality type is chosen.

Merrill: Why don't you arrest us, Aveline?
Aveline: What?
Merrill: We break the law. I'm pretty sure. There's laws for almost everything. You're not a bad guard, are you?
Aveline: No!

Some of the random comments people make can be amusing depending on the context. I got to the bit where an ogre charges in out of nowhere and crushes Carver to death. Hawke's reaction: "I knew this would happen!"

Seriously, you knew this would happen?

I know this is cheating, but one from Origins I think applies well enough to DA2:

Hawke-If romancing Isabela)

Varric: I'm not spreading any tales about you and the Rivaini. Although she asks me every other week to start some.
Isabela: It would make a great new serial. Much better than that guard one you've been writing.

Been a while since I played DA2, thus my memory is probably not 100% on this banter...my apologies!


(Over-hearing Grand Cleric and Seabass talking about Mage/Templar conflict in Act 3).

Hawke: "Mage this, Templar that. Is there anywhere in Kirkwall people aren't talking about this?!?"

Varric: "No. And believe me I've checked. Even the rats in Darktown are following this mess."

I'm a bit rusty on DA2 banter as well, but I believe Varric says something like this after:

Varric: "Half are for the mages, half are for the templars. And most just want more cheese."
