And your tech specialist happens to be little sister of said master thief? Oh, no. It's not like Kasumi was one of my favourite characters, and I thought it was a massive bummer that she got so little screen-time relative to everyone else, and would absolutely flip out if we got a Kasumi stand-in in Andromeda...

Ah, to dream. If it wasn't for Kasumi's involvement on the Crucible, i'd see it as a possibility. Though, seeing that the actress hasn't been busy the past three years, one could hope…

Ah, to dream. If it wasn't for Kasumi's involvement on the Crucible, i'd see it as a possibility. Though, seeing that the actress hasn't been busy the past three years, one could hope… What if we were to get a character who looks exactly like Kasumi, acts exactly like Kasumi, sounds exactly like Kasumi and has the same skill-set as Kasumi... But goes by a different name? Say, Mika Gosuto*? All Mika's records as an ark-passenger check out, of course, but oddly enough, no one actually remembers seeing her board the ark back in the Milky Way... Of course, in all the chaos of leaving, it's perfectly understandable that some people might've gotten lost in the shuffle, so no one really pays it much mind. Mika, while friendly and cheerful, never really goes into much detail about her past, before the expedition. Most people assume she must've lost family or friends, to the Geth, the Collectors or worse, and so don't bother her about it. She occasionally makes oblique references to serving on a ship much like the Tempest at some point in the past, but when pressed for details, always just smiles and brushes it off... ... *Gosuto/ghost, while an actual Japanese word - or gairaigo/loan word, at least - isn't ever really used as a proper name. Still, best I could do for an anagram. (Oh, and I also discovered that Kasumi's name is an anagram for, 'gismo[/gizmo] otaku', which I find absolutely hilarious considering her aptitude for tech.)

Or, really, any excuse to have the Tempest hover over a train would do. Borrowing the basic set-up from Firefly, whereby we actually have to infiltrate the train as passengers - think infiltrating the party in Kasumi's DLC, but perhaps with a mite more talking - to get around security on the train and open the hatch for the ship to pick up the goods, would be just gravy. And it flies the same way anything that doesn't look like it has any business being in the air flies: lots and lots of thrust! (Also the little engine pod thingies on the side rotate for vectored thrust. Y'know, for landing, Crazy Ivans and the like.)

(Oh, and I also discovered that Kasumi's name is an anagram for, 'gismo[/gizmo] otaku', which I find absolutely hilarious considering her aptitude for tech.) That's pretty cool. Kasumi, the tech nerd. Totally believable.

Let's rescue someone from the train. Robbing one seems overdone.
How about Ryder's dad? We're bound to have to pull his ass out of the fire on at least one occasion.

Why settle for one quest in a shoehorned setting?
The Bioware Secret IP must be set in the Firely/Serenity universe! Give us a whole franchise!

I can dream, can't I?yeah a game that prequels the series firefly would be pretty epic, I mean we already know that half the crew were the cap's team in the war, so actually fighting that war in a game c ould be awesome, but not in mea terms of awesome .... as to the quest idea sure lets rob a train I can totally see that, we are out in hostile territory on the verge of war and need to disrupt enemy supply lines so stealing all their drive core replacements would totally fit within mission critical parameters XD

I can dream, can't I?Now, y'see, that's impossible 'cause The BioWare Secret IP is actually Star Trek. They're making that Star Trek RPG - TNG-era, but not set aboard the Enterprise, so we can have original characters with the occasional cameo - I've been dreaming about since I was six.

I think it's a great idea. You know why? Reputation I just realised that the end of The Train Job has possibly the best Renegade Interrupt ever devised. Steal it for Andromeda, BioWare! Oh, and I want to see the Tempest do a re-enactment of the end of this bar fight, too:

I like several ideas from the posters above *-*. Stealth is always nice. Intergalactic train systems could be there for transporting ressources, goods or workers or something like that. Would be plausible after a bit of time spend at several colonies. On the other hand...I think Shuttles would be the most used transport options.
This reminds me a bit of the good old Final Fantasy & Shadow Hearts RPGs but in reverse mode (you have to enter without anyone notice you. In the mentioned games you were hunted throughout the train against time because you had the wrong passports/id cards or you were on a wanted list etc.). Maybe we can see both: robbing or saving a train/save ourselves or comrades while the thing could explode. Train or Shuttle or what not.

Maybe we need to get on a wanted list so we're imprisoned on the train but we use our dasterly know-arounds to unlock ourselves and claim the prize from the train-shuttle.

Maybe we need to get on a wanted list so we're imprisoned on the train but we use our dasterly know-arounds to unlock ourselves and claim the prize from the train-shuttle. No joke, something like that would actually be a fantastic excuse for letting Ryder/the player act like the 'bad guy' for a while. Even divorced from the train example. Say Ryder has to infiltrate a 'splinter group' of the Andromeda Expedition military, who've been, I dunno, stealing Remnant technology from peaceful worlds, thereby ruining the colonists' reputation in the sector, and who appear to still have spies operating within the original Andromeda Expedition military. She deliberately gets herself in trouble - having tipped off this game's Anderson equivalent/her commander ahead of time - gets dishonourably discharged, and then joins up with this splinter group, having tricked them into thinking she has a grudge against her former employers/supports their way of doing things. At the end of the mission, you can either expose their operation outright, or - if you agree with the splinter group's methods - provide the Expedition with false information, thereby allowing the splinter group to continue their operations on the sly. Okay, so I may have nicked that whole idea from a Stargate episode (SG-1 e.318 'Shades of Grey') but still, it works!
