Yeah, and I'm finally getting to play it! Soon, very soon, I'll be able to join in all the grumbling about how old Bioware is ever-so-superior to new Bioware. It is a well designed game with a good story to it. It does used Elements of The New Hope, Empire Strikes Back and the Return of the Jedi with a good hint of Balduer Gates while able to stand on its own feet. Your PC does have good flexiblity how you can roleplay. Your companions can be trained to do a lot of things. that is a thread unto its self. Some of companion like Hk-47 is a blaster oriented build in mind. |

Replaying KOTOR on my PC again. I know this game inside out, but I still enjoy it. But those tech issues... Taris crashes the game alot even after disabling movies, AA and all pesky options that cause trouble. Something about the rakghouls especially breaks the game. Dantooine is mostly ok. Just hit Tattooine. Fingers crossed it remains stable. You with Xboxes are lucky |

So I don't have an xbox one but I got a hankering to play again...problem is my pc copy off of gog apparently has a graphical issue where the screen doesn't even come up properly.
Tried fiddling with the graphics and resolution but no change. Has that happened to anyone for the pc version? Any tips?
I guess I need to dig out my xbox version for now but restored content mods and bug fixes are usually helpful for an early 2000s game.

There are many issues with KOTOR on PC if you are on a modern version of Windows. The solutions vary, but usually start with basics like Disable movies in the configuration menu or try setting up the compatibility to older Win versions. After that you can try to change some commands in the .ini file - you'll need to read up on google in case you are not familiar with it. |
