I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this ME:A book is now available for pre-order on Amazon, by N.K. Jemisin (Author) and Mac Walters (Author) Looking forward to reading it, as I'm interested in Cora's personal history. I believe this book was scheduled for a release this fall, so it's nice the release met it's target period. I've not read books by N.K. Jemisin, but earlier threads have said she is a good author. Amazon Caption: "Lieutenant Cora Harper joined the Systems Alliance to develop and enhance her powerful biotic talents. She was assigned to the asari commando unit Talein’s Daughters, where she honed her abilities to become a skilled and deadly huntress. Returning to Earth, Cora finds herself a stranger among other humans, and joins the Andromeda Initiative as Alec Ryder’s second-in-command. The mission will send 100,000 colonists on a one-way, 600-year-long journey into the unknown. When essential—and dangerous—tech is stolen, Cora is assigned to recover it before it can be used against the Initiative, and end the mission before it can begin." Why didnt this book release before the game? My guess: Difficulties nailing down what gets cut and what will be in game and canon. It just seems like this novel would have had a stronger impact had it released before the game to take advantage of the pre-release hype. By now, the urge for MEA is nowhere near the levels it was at during Fall 2016 or early 2017. I am 100% sure I will not buy this novel now but I would have been all over this November 2016 or January of this year. Going by the timeline, Initiation should have released first and then Nexus Uprising. |

I avoid Cora in the game because of all her Asari Huntress this and that but I have a feeling the book will help me to like and understand Cora better. Maybe my PC will romance her after I read the book. I like to understand why characters are the way they are and hopefully the book will help me to do that.

I like Cora, at the beginning it is way over the top in terms of her Asari references and biotics talk (thank god for the spacebar ) but it was just a poorly executed set-up for her loyalty mission. I enjoyed the romance with Cora and travelling with her in the Nomad so I will buy the book. I intend to buy all 3 once they are all out. |

I found Cora to be incredibly dull as a character, so unfortunately this is one book I won't be reading (even though Jemisin deserves support and sales.)
