I live in Germany and I traveled a lot as kid & teenager. Because my dad works in the education sector (like me and you never get really good salary if you work in the education sector in Germany) and i have lots of sisters we used his holiday and vacation trips with his teens at his work in summer breaks to get out of the country without paying much >.< We traveled 2 times to France & I traveled there 2 times again at Highschool.
My aunt married an Italian before my birth and we visited her when I was 7. It was my first trip out of the country and I still know a lot about the time in South Italy (especially the beautiful sea where you could run 100 meter and more into the water without it getting deeper. My sister tripped into a sea urchin. That was an adventure. Not for her but for me. My uncle who ate a big bowl of spaghetti every day without get any fat around his belly was another(he gifted my father one big bowl for himself after the trip because my sister & I loved this habit). The food there tasted sooo good but sooo different from the italian food we ate in Germany a lot and I was kind of curious why so many people liked my blonde curls at that time xD Put me off a bit in the beginning, but I learned to arrange myself with it. It was the first time where I got so sunburned that I was pink like a pig and later red like a crab. I really want to take a trip there again.
In my apprenticeship we visited Italy - Napoli (?) for a week, which was a fun trip. And I learned a lot about the history there (and the political & educational system).
Others than that we traveled not that much because of permanent lack of money (holiday/vacation with 6 people in Germany and without a big income is not that easy). So we spend a lot of time with our family at home in the garden or in the northern parts of Germany especially at the North Sea (from my fathers side the family lives there like Ostfriesland).
I have lots of personal wishes for traveling like Ireland & Scottland (my parents are big fans of the Scotts & Irish so I grew up with their music, their drinking habits, their stories & culture to a degree), New Zealand, Australia, Japan (not just cities like Tokio, I want to see the rural areas and - if that is possible - the places near Fukushima), Sweden, Latvia. Maybe someday America or Canada. My sister was in Canada for 3 months and she said it was a very nice experience.
So maybe if I'm lucky and I can save up a bit of money. Then I can pursue one of these dreams in Summer 2017 and start my plan of 1 big vacation a year to another interesting place.

Now imagine that with three times the people in half the space. Its worth a visit though, its packed with all sorts of neat stuff in its districts, it caters to practically every want you have if you have the money to pay. From fine dining to malls, restaurants and scenic vistas its truly a marvel. The main issue you will encounter is simply getting around it. Traffic is horrific, public transit is packed full usually, and you will find walking to be the most common means of transportation to nearby locations simply because it saves time and money.

My advice for Tokyo is to bike or take public transportation. If you walk, you'll get too distracted by all the sights and sounds, and travel by car, while remarkably efficient for a city of its size, is inherently time-consuming.
Public transportation is actually rather efficient in Tokyo. It can be a pain during the commuting hours, but it's very orderly in my experience.

From the US, been to Vancouver, Quebec and the Canadian Rockies in Canada.
I've also had trips to Italy, Austria, Czech Republic, England, Ireland, and Scotland.
All pretty brief trips with my family, but I had fun.

I'm from the US, but my father got to travel on business and sometimes took us along.
So far I've been to Mexico, Chile, Peru, Brazil, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Hungary, England, Scotland, Wales, and Japan. I'd love to see New Zealand, but the thought of traveling 24 hours with kids isn't super appealing right now.

The only time I've traveled outside my country was during a 15k running race. The race started in El Paso, TX and crossed the border bridge into Juarez, Mex. I was a very serious runner back then and finished as 5th place woman in this international race and 5th place for good for a $200 cash prize. Thing is that that the top five finishers in the men and women divisions had to be drug tested so this race was the first and only time I've been drug tested. I've never been out of the country except that one time when I raced through the streets of Juarez, Mexico and then back across the bridge to El Paso, TX. All in all it was a very fun day but I was breathing way too hard to notice anything about Juarez.

I visited Montreal for about 4 days on a conference once, lovely city. Re New Brunswick, when I retire I am thinking of moving to one of the maritime provinces perhaps. (NB. NS or PEI) I lived on PEI for a short time and while it is lovely and the people are some of the nicest I've ever met, it is a difficult place for non-islanders to remain. It's hard to explain, but after a while I just became desperate to get off the island. It's a phenomenon the locals are familiar with, they told me non-islanders never stay. I'd choose Halifax over Charlottetown, myself. Then you can vacation on the island during the summer when the lupins are in bloom.

I almost never travel, because I have horses. It's an expensive hobby, and it's not too easy finding someone to look after them while I'm gone. I'm from Norway. Have only been to two of our neighbor countries, Sweden and Finland. Going to Iceland next year though, looking forward to that. I have horses too and for years the only time I did travel was with one or two of my horses, for endurance riding competitions (never out of the country though). Now that I've retired from endurance riding, I don't want to leave home over night, because of my horses and other pets. I get to ride right out my gate since our home on 5 acres, is surrounded by a 50,000 acre ranch. I'm a real homebody and love it, because I don't like leaving my pets.

Yeah, I'm prepared for that (talked to a lot of people who visited the city & I watched lots of videos on youtube about young people like me who stayed in Tokio because of Marriage, transfering schools or work etc. to learn about the customs there - which helped me a lot. Learned so much from honest explanations about how expensive and big and loud everything is. How everyday life works. But for me as a country pumpkin ( ) it will be a pretty overwhelming experience. Especially since I'm more a friend of nature surrounded places with just few people as possible. ) I wouldn't stay there long (maybe 2 or 3 days just for adventure). Like I mentioned above the important places would be rural places anyway because I want to see japanese nature, the smaller cities & villages, the coastlines etc.

I have the travel bug, no question.
Europe: Switzerland, Netherlands, UK, France, Scotland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Ireland, Iceland, Monaco, Canary Islands, Greece, Norway, Denmark, Turkey
Americas and US states: Canada, Mexico, California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington State, Washington DC, Virginia, Florida, Louisiana, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Hawaii, Caribbean
Africa: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, and going to South Africa in November
Asia: Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, Dubai, Russia
As for actually living somewhere for a number of years as an adult, so far it's been Switzerland (Geneva and Zurich), London and Los Angeles (and a few others as a child).

I enjoy traveling a lot and always want to do more of it. So I have been to quite a few places, but the list of places that I need to go and see does never seem to get any shorter. I guess that is a good thing as I will never run out of new places to visit (on top of the old ones that have to be re-visited for friends and food and stuff like that).
I am from Germany and have lived there for most of my life. I have also lived in Italy and the USA, currently I live in China. Countries I have visited besides those that come to mind are: Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Poland, Estonia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Macedonia, Turkey, Greece, Austria, Switzerland, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Andorra, San Marino, Monaco, England, Ireland, UAE, Oman, Canada, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Namibia and South Africa.

Canada... And then I saw someone get shot dead. Canada! Don't believe the lies. On a sidenote, I was a little kid and crawled in a corner, scared. ME3 was like a flashback... I was just like that kid. It was Vancouver too

I'm starting to feel a bit bad. I've been to Canada twice, when I was very young. I've never been outside the US besides going to the other side of Niagra Falls.
Though I'm not particularly well traveled in any case. I haven't been outside NY except to visit my folks in Maryland/DC twice, my Aunt in Florida Once, my Aunt in Penn. 4 times. And the only recent one was my Aunt in DC, 3 years ago. Never seen the Pacific, or the great lakes.
I'd like to try an authentic Chicago Deep Dish Pizza one of these days. Travel to the west coast, see the pacific, see the grand canyon, mount Rushmore, and even visit NASA one of these days.
As for traveling outside the US...Maybe see the UK and Ireland a bit. Everywhere else seems like it'd be too hostile to visit for an American.

There are a lot of places in the world that aren't hostile to Americans, and a lot of places that speak English. Start with the UK and you may find you get bit by the traveling bug.
