While I'm sure some fans did use DAI's many GOTY awards as evidence of the game being good, I'm sure they were mostly provided as evidence that the game was successful, at least critically. There were arguments being made at the time time that DAI an overall failure, which I found odd.
But yeah, I think we can point out awards as evidence that people, or at least critics, liked a game. And divorce that from the debate on whether a game is good and why.
As for MEA, many here, including myself, enjoyed the game and thought it was good. But I don't think that, at this point, there are many arguing that MEA is a critical or financial hit. So, yeah, what's the point of this?

Not surprising. Although I am more concerned over how shit most of these award categories are (Esport stuff and Best Chinese Game boggle my mind) along with some of the odd nominations. Like Player Unknown: Battlegrounds as Game of the Year? Have we really fallen that low? PUBG is the most played thing in the world right now and has only gotten more steam since it started. While I wouldn't pick it, I don't see why it can't be included being how it's that popular and other devs are copying/borrowing off them. The game is a technical mess but it's concept is why it thrives. |

So me liking a game is juvenile now? How old are you? Your mental fortitude seems equal to "I don't like that game so no one else should". Did I pin you down right? Man Nier is targeted to kids, a girl with a bondage outfit where i can see her PANTIES and the cliche anime "long pause, say something". Also the whole story is crap. iwas expecting a story to be told not some ambigus wannabe philosophical BS with cheesy metaphors, man the whole meatbox, souls box ect , the whole theme park with the unexplained happybots, the castlle with the king babybot (WTF!). All juvenile, you want me to belive that there is a babybot? also A2 wow! great backstory explained! not! but oh! i forgot! spoilers ****A2 who had the soul (LOL) of 2b ("to be" get it?) in her sword (LOL) died from 9s sword , whereas 9s always somehow was killing 2b. great sense of tragic irony. fantastic writing. LOL*** So yeah adromeda as medium is way more thoughtfull than Nier. Nier is pretentious and it drives me nuts howpeople fall for that. |

That's the problem ultinately, pubg is in early access, a mess like you said, and just popular because of streaming and the youtube factor. Popularity doesn't always make you game of the year. Hellblade:Sesunas Sacrifice should have gotten that last spot, in my opinion. |

If awards mean nothing quality-wise, this piece of news means EA doesn't care enough to pay off GOTY title for its flagship RPG of 2017.

Fun gameplay, addresses the main issues with the first game. With a variety of classes to choose from. It is a vast improvement from the first game. |
