Battled through a bad doze of manflu to have a crack at Geonosis today and all I can say is it’s beautiful! Honestly the most fun I’ve had on BF2 in a while. The visuals combined with all the background noise and AT-TE’s dropping into the chaos of a phase 3 sandstorm really makes you feel like your in Star Wars. Ten Geonosisians out of ten dice! The next thing that I’m looking forward to is the more free form game mode coming in Feb. That and shifting this bloody cold!   |

Decided to give BF2 a shot since it's in the Premier library.
Visuals are pleasing and give a good SW feel at 1440p/Ultra.
The single player story was mediocre at best.
Multiplayer...Well...Mixed bag. The big assault maps are terrible experience for me. I just run in there and die 😁 Not much of a shooter skills that I can rely on and I swear some people seem to see you from too far away and headshot you in the second you move between two cover points.
Hero vs Villains - actually fun mode where I can contribute, but not so much fun when 4 maxed heroes just run in a group and slaughter a bunch of level 1-10. Matchmaking at it's best I guess 😁
Ewok Hunt - surprisingly awesome. I prefer to be an Ewok myself, sounding my horn near a victim just to scare him, but it's a pretty good horror experience as a Trooper too. Bit hard to get games going though, maybe people don't like this mode much.
Starfighter - I seem to be awesome here. My vast Freelancer and SWTOR's GSF experience probably helps and I started topping charts after only 2-3 games. So many people ignore the Objectives though. Nothing new 😁
Yet to try the small scale Objective based modes. I am worried I will be a burden for my team, but with less players I can probably contribute more compared to my terrible 16-40 people matches.

Redownloaed my copy I had bought back int december of 2017. I will admit that the game is looking better than it was at release but there are still several major areas where I feel it is lacking.
1. Complete lack of online split-screen. Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) let you play 4 player split-screen both locally as well as online. All EA's Battlefront has is a lousy arcade mode, for only two players, and you can't even bring your split-screen buddy online with you. I call BS. It's obvious that the game can support local play, yet EA's being greedy and forcing you to buy multiple copies of the title to play actual proper multiplayer matches. And don't even get me started on the lack of co-op for the campaign.
2. Buggy AI, who are absent from regular multiplayer matches. I'm not asking for anything crazy here, but it would be nice if the matchmaking offset imbalanced teams with bots and/or populated games with AI teammates so that the games would feel more populated. This is supposed to be the site of massive battlegrounds, yet the most we see is a team of 20 vs 20.
3. No galactic conquest mode. Now granted there is rumors there will be a new game mode this month but something tells me that it won't be the quasi-grand strategy game, interspersed with multiplayer matches, that we had in BF2 (2005).
4. More of a personal preference, but why oh why does the CIS have 2 Super Battle Droid classes? The Droideka would make for a much better, and more interesting, enforcer than the non-rocket jumping battle droid model we currently have.
If EA/Dice can fix these four issues I will say that they have made an acceptable sequel to Pandemic's legacy, as well as a truly fun Star Wars game.

There's a new update coming June 26.
So we get Naboo for Capital Supremacy,The Droidekas for the Separatists (finally !),the TX-130 for the Republic (it's a tank).
Anakin gets a new skin and there's also two new camouflage skins for the Clones.
And they have also announced a new map : Felucia coming later for Capital Supremacy.
I think it's great that they're still supporting this game,it's still not perfect we still need more heroes and maps imo but we're getting there.
Anyway this update is another step in the right direction and i can't wait to play it.

Well,about 2 months ago some devs who works on the game confirmed that the game's population was a lot higher than before (and very healthy),matchmaking is pretty easy yes,and there's the Dice forums,the Battlefront reddit (a lot of devs are on reddit) or Youtube if you want to talk about the game.

Well,about 2 months ago some devs who works on the game confirmed that the game's population was a lot higher than before (and very healthy),matchmaking is pretty easy yes,and there's the Dice forums,the Battlefront reddit (a lot of devs are on reddit) or Youtube if you want to talk about the game. Yeah, I see it on spot #39 currently on the XBONE most played list. Which is not bad for a nearly 2 year old game, certainly better than a 4 month old game that is Anthem, being ousted off the list by spot #49 Arkham Knight.
