I got that ME1 and ME2 package on steam which you have given me link to. From what I understand ME1 is complete, but ME2 is the base game plus something called Cerberus network. I don't seem to be in a very Christmasy spirit, considering that for both my Inq and ME1 game, I've chosen to RP a character who has militaristic/ruthless personality. (Because 50 previous characters were all goody two shoes.) It's fun to let others know they're stupid bluntly and threaten obvious scumbags. Serza So far I haven't managed to hit anything with anything except for the pistols.

Maybe you'll get hooked If so, Arrival DLC is a good one to get for ME2 as it provides a nice link to ME2. I was serious about wanting ALL the impressions. So far my glorious career has included repeatedly getting punched in the nose by creepy toasters stuck on the spikes because I kept missing them with grenades. Receiving as equally surprising as creepy 'pay' from a consort because in some parts of the galaxy 'pay me more' reads as nail me instead of give me more money. And getting kicked out of a casino much to the profoundest sorrow of a bug-eyed alien who had constructed the gambling device.

I rarely go 'renegade' in Mass Effect. Only two instances, once in ME2; the one that went aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I wouldn't say he deserved it but I wasn't in the mood for an idiotic brickwall. He should have known better, he's a mercenary. Once in ME3. The one that went ooommpphhhh, right in the guts. Now that one, he deserved it. The Biotic God is tempting but he's so cute, I didn't want to do it. I watched the other choice in YT and it was hilarious. I love MET Asari and the beachballs.

That Shepard was still a goody goody, but some renegade interrupts are just too good to pass up, no matter what. And getting kicked out of a casino much to the profoundest sorrow of a bug-eyed alien who had constructed the gambling device. I have a hard time with combat in ME1. I'm playing it for the second time right now, and I dialed it down to easy (or casual...whatever it's called). It's too easy on that level, but I was dying too often on normal. Do you pause to aim? It took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize that was a thing. Any impressions on the squad yet? They are kind of walking codexes in ME1, but some of their personalities start to come out.

I finally have time to run a game again, but we need at least one more person for round 2. I'd like to throw in an unknown number of spies (2-4), so the more players, the better.

We're about ready to start, since we've got enough players In this game, you can still give role hints, though it's better to keep them subtle. There will be anywhere from 2-4 villains. The heros will not be told how many there are.

Dragon I have no idea how to target aim in this game as the 'pause' button doesn't work the same way as in DAO. In DAO I can hit Space and then circle companions to give them commands or I could walk away from the keyboard for half an hour to do my stuff. In ME you're only paused while you are holding the space button. Also, if I issue any commands to companions like throw, they will throw only at the triangular thingy where your screen has frozen rather than me separately pointing out to them where to throw, and letting go of the space button resumes combat. Not to mention companions are kinda dumb because if there is a wall in the way they will throw into the wall instead of at the target. I usually don't interfere and let them do their own thing. Unless, like they really enjoy doing, they're shooting out of cover and repeatedly getting hit in the face by three monsters. I mean, cover, who needs cover? Chaarge! At least I have finally figured out how to get off the space station, that is after getting good Captain Anderson fired. Then my crew along with its tank ended up eaten by a giant worm on the first landed planet.

You should be able to hold down right mouse (I think...it's in muscle memory so I'd have to go play the game to make sure) to aim while paused. I usually avoid the thresher maws. I killed one on my current playthrough, and I died so many times because it kept spawning right underneath me. They are MET's version of high dragons, so most of them are optional. (One in ME2 is required.) Do you like it at all so far?

At least I have finally figured out how to get off the space station, that is after getting good Captain Anderson fired. Then my crew along with its tank ended up eaten by a giant worm on the first landed planet. For DA, combat is; you, you, you do this, wake me when you're done. In shooters, you cannot walk away and do your own thing IRL. I generally don't rely very much on companions in ME 1. The only thing I'll do with them is get them into covers and leave them to shoot as they will. Whether they hit the targets or not is not my concern. Since I've been playing shooters since the original DOOM, it's all grist to my mill. I generally shoot up everything 90% of the time, I hardly use biotics in ME1. For ME2, I'll use companions and biotics more often since there're more diversive skills and combos. ME3 is the pinnacle of biotics and companion unity in combat. There is nothing like it and never will be. Thrasher Maws can be avoided, just don't go rolling across huge tracts of empty space. More often than not, the innocent looking emptiness has a worm lurking below. It's better to drive along the bottom of ridges or if you really have to, just put the pedal to the metal if you have to cross a plain. Don't bother to stop and fight if you hear a growl behind you.

My first ME game - yay. adonniel: I have problems with ME 2, I'm still on the archangel mission (which is one of the very first, I did) in ME2, because I hate those game mechanics. They seem to be more like a shooter and I never played those. It was easier for me on ME 1, but I avoided those worms like hell. YOu can run away from them, if you're lucky, I outrun one with the Mako once. The prospect of the Garrus romance in 2 keeps me playing

That Shepard was still a goody goody, but some renegade interrupts are just too good to pass up, no matter what. Yep, that's the one. I didn't do it in the first PT. In the second, I went ; what the h*ll, go away you brickwall. And I kept doing it every time. You guys know it can be very entertaining for some fights right? I always bounce the mobs off their perches and watch them fall. This is one feature I love about ME; when they bounce and fall, they really fall and die. They don't get stuck at invisible walls and come back in to fight. Like this one. Quality is bad but then it was recorded years ago. * I like Garrus but I regard him more of a bro-in-arms. He'll always have Shep's back. He's supportive, has implicit faith and trust in her. That's what I like about him. But not enough to want to romance him. Of all the LI choices, Kaidan would have been #1 but he came across as two flat shoes so I chose Liara and went with her ever since in most of the PTs.

For thresher maws, once you know their patterns it isnt too bad. Key is keep moving, and with luck at least the first few times, you can avoid their spawning points and just fire at them as they appear and then run away. As someone else said, spawn points are going to be the flat empty land, so race around the perimeter, only stopping on small hills. The map gives them away. If you see an area shaped roughly like a round flat circle on the map, thats where it will probably spawn. That all said, I usually jsut skip them. Some people hunt them for XP. You get more xp when killing on foot than in the mako so they hop out when its nearly dead. No thanks
