Bull is typical that man (for me, ofc), whom I need to know, for find his charm. At first, I didn't find him attractive. (But I didn't even found attractive Fenris at first –from other reasons–, I'm into the "classical beauty", my type is Anders, for example, who is really far from Bull.) Generally wrt video games attractiveness is a secondary concern for me just cuz I don't need to be attracted to them, my characters do. I evaluate looks along with everything else and if my character is down with it's cool. For Bull he looks like someone who took a flail to the face on account of he is someone who took a flail to the face, not necessarily something a sheltered Circle mage would want to wake up next to but barely even comment-worthy for a qunari mercenary. Hahaha, I may terrible at RP, I need some attraction/acceptance, just as I don't like play as someone who I can't relate (an evil character, for example). But I don't see any contradiction in attraction between Bull with his past and a "sheltered" Circle Mage. I can imagine that such a character has a crush on a Bull kind one. In fact Cullen's case, with a Circle Mage more difficult love relationship in my eyes. Absolutely imaginable, but can be harder. (I romanced Bull with a Vashoth male Mage – it was a good choice.)

On the other hand, Bull is rude to you from the get go, and lecture you on Qunari. And purposefully tells you how feelings are not important it's all sex to him, whores and all that. There is nothing to fall in love with there. At some point you're actually going to have to look at what being Qunari is, because you have this idea of a Qunari romance that just doesn't work with the lore. Qunari don't have relationships or families, the Tamassrans decide who breeds with who and then raises the children, that have specific people you go to when you have a sexual urge (who are decided to be best to do that job as children, they don't chose). Iron Bull having a casual relationship with sex is perfectly normal coming from a society that doesn't encourage relationships and provides prostitutes for it's populations needs. It's the reason I actually find the Iron Bull/Dorian relationship interesting (though I'm not convinced it would work out in the end though for some reason) as not just because it's interesting having a Tevinter/Qunari relationship given the conflict, they both come from cultures where having a normal relationship like that wouldn't be normal. Dorian for it being a Gay relationship and Bull for it being a steady romantic patnership at all.

Dorian for it being a Gay relationship and Bull for it being a steady romantic patnership at all. I did not want a "standard" Qunari romance, I wanted an unusual, dramatic, romanticized Qunari romance with someone who rebels against the Qun. But who is romantic. Not casual. And looks drop-dead gorgeous. And a male. The world's literature is full of the tales of the forbidden and atypical love stories, not the "standard/casual" ones. Dorian's in-game romance for a male is not a "normal" relationship with a Tevinter mage. I wish IB's was just as unusual and romantic for a female... or any other male that would romance ALL females for that matter. Obviously, there are casual stories as well, and some people really like them, but it is not something I want to experience in a videogame, because that's dime a dozen in RL. It's cool to have them included for those who want them, but I wish it did not come at the expense of the exclusion of the old-fashioned grand lovestory. And a grand lovestory is specifically what I am missing in DAI for a female Qunari PC. Who is Tal'Vashoth and a child of the parents that obviously escaped the Qun to be able to feel the way they want to feel. When I played a male Qunari, I was torn when choosing between Cassandra and Dorian, but that was not replicated at all as a female one, she's got nothing & that irks me as much as the OP's is sour about Cassandra's jawline. In ideal world, I'd played a female Qunari romancing Dorian, and a male one romancing Cassandra. That would have been sooo perfect.

But Bull's so beautiful with his perfect little paunch and sweet smile and HIM BIG. Bull's ugly. I think he was purposely designed to be down to earth and ugly, to counter all the expectations people had after Arishok, Ketojan and Sten.... He looks like a grizzled mercenary who took a flail to the face for a friend, but that just makes him more attractive to me. I love Sten as much as anyone but I don't think he was designed to be a bombshell either LOL.

I just meant he's not presented as leagues more attractive than Bull.

On the right... is that your type? (The joke was that the both look the same and that's why I pointed out that that's Sten even though you obviously meant Fabio) Oh, an incredibly muscular guy with long hair and masculine facial features. Can't say he wouldn't be my type.

From the source you posted Gaider admits a dwarf/Alastair romance from DA:O left him traumatised. Because she had been made to look like a little girl, yes. Look, it’s a myth that DG hates dwarves, plain and simple. There’s never been a dwarf romance because: 1) Dwarves can only be warriors or rogues, so the number of spots they can take up in the roster is limited. 2) The main dwarf companion for the last two games was a dwarf who loved someone else. In fact, that was also the case for Oghren. You're right, of course, but I have to wonder why Lace Harding wasn't a side piece, analogous to ME Kelly Chambers or Diana Allers ... okay, now I'm talking myself out of this idea ...

Thinking back it's kind of funny. Fenris and Garrus are my favorite Bioware romances, but when I saw them on my first play throughs I didn't really find either all that attractive personally. Who was this glow in the dark anime elf? And a romanceable velociraptor? No way. Yet somehow I'm now at the point where you can pry these two from my characters' cold, dead fingers

I don't understand. All BW fanbase care about is romances anyway; just look at the devs calling romances in Andromeda to be akin to softcore porn. Why can't OP suggest what he likes for future BW titles. If he thinks the women were ugly, so be it. I don't see the problem.

My apologies for misunderstanding Josephine earlier. I misunderstood the whole Bisexual identity.
She remains bisexual in the sense that she finds both genders romantically and/or sexually attractive but she maintains a monogamous relationship with your Inquisitor. If the relationship ends, then she is just single and bisexual. Am I right?
One of my friends was explaining things to me. Like a bisexual person may be more attracted to a certain gender romantically or/and sexually.
Like a bisexual woman can have a preference for a man in bed but enjoys the romantic companionship of a woman (or vice versa).
I still might not understand though.

On the other hand, Bull is just drops into the Skyhold after some half-arsed battle on the shore, is rude to you from the get go, and lectures you on Qunari expecting you to just listen, listen and listen and by some unfathomable reason... like him, let alone fall in love with him?! Wait a minute. Those aren't lectures about the qunari, they're Bull answering the Inquisitor's questions about the qunari. Don't want the lecture? Don't ask the questions.

Wait a minute. Those aren't lectures about the qunari, they're Bull answering the Inquisitor's questions about the qunari. Don't want the lecture? Don't ask the questions. When you ask Dorian a question, it has to me a feel of being a lively dialogue, even if he does cover the salient lore points. In Bull’s case, it feels like boring lectures. For me it makes a big difference in terms of falling in love with the character. Sten managed to make Qunari fascinating, and my attempts to draw out some information from him were fun. Talking to Bull is like doing an on-line course. Press this button to hear more about Qunari faith! Or whatever. So, Dorian’s moustache is forgotten the moment he opens his mouth & I empathize with him, and engage into a dialogue, and there are millions of things I can say to him in head anon about the things we were talking about, but with Bull, well, he better be handsome with what he has to say, and he is not...
