What do you think of Cora's writing?

Good. Would have voted above average but Cora's ASSet saved the vote.

Cora: Above Average. I know she gets criticized for kind of being too narrowly focused on the whole Valkyrie asari commando experience, but I think that's a bit unfair. Much more interesting to me was how her character reacted to Ryder Sr. giving the Pathfinder role to Ryder Jr., instead of her. You could see her struggle with that throughout the game, almost the Five Stages of Grief, culminating in acceptance. Plus her whole plant/botany hobby was a nice change of pace. Her loyalty mission, while predictable and safe, was fun and fit the established traits of the character. Nothing like having your heroes pulled down off their pedestals.

Cora was decent. I liked how she interacted with the squad and crew. She had good footing, and I found myself taking her along on most my missions. I was really hoping for more conflict from her with her promotion being taken by Ryder. It seemed to be resolved with one conversation... seemed to make her devoid of much passion other than her plants.

Sub-par....her writing outside of her loyalty mission was a bit stagnant. Everytime i tried to get something new out of her, it was Asari Commandos this and Asari Commandos that. And Ryder's "Hey you got any more Commando stories for me?".....as if this was elementary school story nap time session.....now don't get me wrong, in the past Mass Effect games characters did repeat themselves, but not on the order in how Cora was written.


I could go to Samarah, Miranda, Jack, Grunt, Garrus in various parts of the game and get a different conversation from them quite a few times before the conversation didn't add anything new. Cora was just flat....she has the best sex scene, but outside of that?....poorly written.

I put her as mediocre. I don't hate Cora by any strength but her constant asari huntress talk got annoying and her reaction to protecting the asari pathfinder (sorry, I played for two months and stopped eight months ago so I'm blanking on her name) was a little blah. Made her seem less confident, not something I'm looking for in a potential replacement pathfinder. She had potential, though, and I wonder if we'd have gotten more out of her with more game content (DLC).

Ironically enough the more I think about it the more she reminds me of a discount Rey.

Yes, I think she is quite well written overall.

All in all one of the better experiences in a rather meh crew. It's mainly the unmasking of her heroine that saves the day.

I will give you the DA I comment but it's a little unfair to say her LM was a main mission. It was tied very much into the growth of her character and also was a good move tying the LMS that closely into the overall objective of the game.

interesting thought but that would have given her two missions. Though I do also agree Vetra was really short changed.

I liked everything about her except her Asari obsession and hair.

If I was her writer, I would have reduced her dialogue about the asari commando thing to a few lines of dialogue and the rest she can talk about her time with the Alliance and her gardening hobby. Because of the overkill about the commando stuff, I checked, subpar

Do I agree with the above that the asari ship was a loyalty mission for her? I look at it more as a rescue mission that could have been made into a main mission. A loyalty mission for Harper could be going to an unknown planet that has a plant that she wants for her collection. Throughout the mission, Harper and Ryder have to deal with a lot of wildlife.
