If I was her writer, I would have reduced her dialogue about the asari commando thing to a few lines of dialogue and the rest she can talk about her time with the Alliance and her gardening hobby. Because of the overkill about the commando stuff, I checked, subpar Do I agree with the above that the asari ship was a loyalty mission for her? I look at it more as a rescue mission that could have been made into a main mission. A loyalty mission for Harper could be going to an unknown planet that has a plant that she wants for her collection. Throughout the mission, Harper and Ryder have to deal with a lot of wildlife. as annoying as it is there is a reason she talks about the Asari so damned much.

Of course the player doesn't have to talk to Harper. I know when I heard her talk about that stuff for the first time, I laughed because of what my Shepard did to those commandos in the trilogy. They're pathetic.

Cora definitely suffers from Anders Syndrome, where a character constantly just talks about one subject or issue and nothing else.
Gets tedious after awhile.

Do you feel that the asari ark mission is really a LM tho? For me it feels like a regular ark finding mission with some Cora dialogue. Contrast that to the personal elements of Drack and Vetra's for example, and Cora seems a little hard done by. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a proper LM but then they cut it, then rewrote the asari ark quest to fit her instead. I do feel that way. Fair enough, I wish I could like her content as much as she's my favourite squad member. Absolutely, it becomes a bloody meme after a while. Her alliance work and the search for her parents could have been good material along with focusing on bringing earth's plants back to life.

I don't want them to flounce off in a huff (because deciding not to save the world because you don't like the boss is daft) and I don't want the game to think we like each other either. This is where DA2 wins hands down, you can properly dislike someone and they'll come back at you with a bunch of shit. Or punch you in the face. So yeah if you don't like Cora it'd be nice to tell her what you really think, and Suvi as well actually. And omg the things I'd say to Liam....

There were many things that disappointed me about ME:A, but Cora reigns supreme. Her surname initially had me excited, but that turned out to be the gaming equivalent of clickbait. How interesting it might have been to discover how the (possible) daughter of the Milky Way's leading Human Supremacist ended up such an Asari-wannabe in a galaxy far, far away. But no, we didn't get anything like that. What we got was a haircut so annoying to listen to that the only solution for me was to ultimately delete the game during a second attempted playthrough. Her vocal tone actually made me nauseous, and once I'd seen the likeness to the ABC singer Martin Fry I couldn't un-see it. And if not Martin Fry, then F1 Champion James Hunt. Or a bizarre cross between the two. Either way, rather too masculine for my tastes, butt or no butt. She's my all-time least-favourite character in my personal history of gaming, going back nearly 40 years. I'd prefer to interact with the 'ball' in Pong. No one has ever come close, not even the Starchild in ME3. At least I could shoot it. Liam is rubbish too, obviously, but by comparison with Cora he is merely incompetent. She is relentlessly awful. And even now I'm underplaying just how irritating I found her.

Most of the dialogue lines for Cora or any other MEA character are, well, not the best let's say. I am just finishing replaying MET (again) and I can easily see difference in quality of writing, on every level. But this is a common problem these days, not only in gaming industry. Same problem with movies and tv series, so hard to keep the quality for long term. This year almost everything I've been waiting for regarding movies/tv series/games was a smaller or bigger disappointment.

I find it silly that all these "tough girls" in Bioware games turn out to have a feminine hobby or are a secret romantic. They all also happen to be straight but I'm not sure if that can of worms should be opened...

I can understand why that might be the case for someone with strong feelings for the Asari in general: presumably you had the opposite reaction to her from that which I had in relation to Drack, whose character I genuinely enjoyed. Drack and Jaal were just about the only positives I was able to take from the game, in truth. Our feelings are largely subjective, of course, but what is an objective fact is that the devs trolled us with Cora's surname, and unless there's already fan-fiction somewhere in which TIM reveals the potentially galaxy-shaking information that he is also Peebee's junk DNA-donor, I feel my loathing of Cora is entitled to stray beyond the subjective, due to the missed opportunity for a genuinely interesting backstory.

I expected going in she'd be the romantic partner of choice but Peebee won that battle easily due to her actually having far more personality and flirtatiousness. I certainly didn't dislike Cora in the end, it's just she was very mediocre imo.

They could have done so much more with Cora if her last name were not a coincidence and she really was TIM's daughter. However, I don't know if it's clickbait. I just recently started playing SWTOR and I see the same names (in different context) I recognized from ME and DA. BioWare just doesn't seem to have a lot of originality, which is why James Vega was originally James Sanders but unrelated to Kahlee. Think of how much effort it must have taken for them to change his name.

If there is a sequel, Bioware could still come up with an explantion that TIM is Cora's dad. She meets with someone who represents Cerberus. He/she tells Cora everything about her father. By the end of the game she will be seen in a black dress/skirt/pants with a drink in her. She will be called TID....the Illusive Daughter.

Cora definitely suffers from Anders Syndrome, where a character constantly just talks about one subject or issue and nothing else. Gets tedious after awhile. funny I adored Anders. So I romanced Anders because my preference is for human male. Yet, I could not accept his actions so I wouldn't do so a second time. (Only completed one full run. Fenris likely next time.) That said, the similarities between Cora and Anders weren't problematic for me since Cora didn't go on to murder all the asari on Andromeda. Though, come to think of it, it would have been an interesting twist in reaction to accepting the pathfinder. I could imagine Cora seeing it as "corruption" that needs to be removed and starting her down the path to becoming more like the person who should have been her father - TIM.
