I want this so bad it hurts. Though it would be nice , I'm not holding my breath for the return of the inky as the main PC. I don't know if I'd be able to handle the Inquisitor as an NPC only (or, maker forbid, not there at all). I need closure between those two! Bioware, PLEASE! As fun as dual protagonist would be, it'd be far easier to stick with one.
Otherwise your choices with both protagonists might end up conflicting or seem pointless (why spare someone as PC1, if PC2 will kill them later in the game?) or the game makes one character more enjoyable (so you are bored playing as the other), as well as giving you less time in general to play as both.
I would still like the Inquisitor to return in some fashion, maybe similar to how the advisors, Morrigan and Hawke were utilised in Inquisition. Working from our hub in a background/offscreen capacity (providing contacts, war table missions, etc) and perhaps joining us as a temporary companion on a questline.
But the choices of past protagonists can already conflict with current ones, plus - the conflict between two PCs could actually be interesting. Also, sparing NPC by PC1 despite PC2 killing them is still an entirely valid way to do things - after all, sparing a person in the earlier game may be more a character thing than plot thing; or it could be a plot thing in a sense that NPC will live enough to do something useful to the plot before they expire. Kinda like Harry Potter sparing the life of Peter Pettigrew, for example. Anyway - I see dual-protag working just better than advisers do. We already had a recurring protagonist in DAI and some people were unhappy with how they behaved, and that was with Hawke having 3 distinct personalities that we can choose; Inquisitor is way more nuanced than that. The appearance of Inky as secondary protagonist also doesn't really have to come at the expense of time with primary PC - if there is a new PC and they have to be clued into what happened in Inquisition, that itself can be done by Inquisitor instead of some NPC. Obviously, there will exist issues with how exactly to pull that off, especially in cases of interactions between PCs, but even Mike Laidlaw said in 2015 that it's ways away from impossible.

I've only really played two games with dual protagonists: Witcher 3 and Tales from the Borderlands. Two entirely different games tone-wise. IMO Tales was actually a bit better than Witcher 3 in this aspect(at least for the purposes of this conversation) b/c you really did have choices one protag made effecting the options of the other. And in a few instances later on, you actually chose conversation options for both of them as they conversed with each other. And it worked out really well. Now, to be fair, neither of these dual protag teams were blank slate characters. But even so, if you have enough time with each protagonist individually so that you can get a sense of their character, having them interact with and effect one another can actually be a real treat and feel very natural. At least, in my experience.

Storywise I feel that dual protag would be the only logical way to go. It wouldn't have to be more than say 10% of Inqy for it to fill it's function (feeelz, that is). But I'm afraid that the ever present time-and-money issue will put a stop to it

I definitely want the Inquisitor to return, either as the sole protagonist or part of the dual protagonist. Regardless of a player's feelings towards Solas, from loving him to loathing him and everything in between there is a personal connection between him and the Inquisitor that allows a much better dynamic between protagonist and antagonist compared to if we are some new person who has no connection to him.

Someone else will just have to deal with Solas. I'll make sure the Jennys send a message to whoever's going to do it, though! Hated: *shakes fist* That arrogant bastard! Solas must be stopped before his madness destroys the world! It's just, well ... I have my hands full with my estate in Kirkwall and this whole retired Inquisitor business. Don't worry though I'll find out who's going to stop him and send them a detailed letter of why I hate Solas.

It makes no sense for someone else to deal with Solas. Much like it made no sense for Hawke to not stick around to deal with Corypheus... (no, I'm never going to let that go) I wouldn't mind the new protagonist being recruited by the Inquisitor to serve as their agent/proxy, but the Inquisitor definitely needs to be present when the final confrontation with Solas occurs (if it happens in the next game).
The final line in Trespasser that they are going to find "people he doesn't know", does suggest that they intend to act via proxies, which makes sense from a strategic point of view. Currently the (ex-)Inquisition's biggest weakness is Solas knows all of them too well, so it's easy for him to anticipate what their plans to stop him might be. But a complete stranger makes it far harder for him to predict what they might do, especially if they're given carte-blanche.
It might be a lot of fun to play as a Wild Card for the Inquisition.

But a complete stranger makes it far harder for him to predict what they might do, especially if they're given carte-blanche. The funny thing is that it is both Inquisition's biggest weakness as well as its biggest strength: because as much as Solas knows about Inquisition, members of Inquisition and Inquisitor had a chance to get to know something about Solas - heck, even in a situation where Inquisitor didn't really care about Solas or hates his guts, either them or their companions get to figure out something about him, his personality, his methods or motives. Then there's the fact that - aside from accumulating great wealth and power - they've uncovered many ancient elven secrets and learned something substantial about the past, which sets them apart as unique in that department, since nobody else from modern Thedas seems to even have the slightest clue where to even start with that conundrum. One could argue that perhaps they could introduce somebody new for the task... but why should they do that when they have Inquisition? They'd basically have to establish such organization or group all over again, and - in a scenario where we get to meet them when they're already fully formed and functional - that doesn't even address the issue of their motives or where they know this stuff, or how they even connect to the whole issue. And we were there basically every step of the journey to see how Inquisitor and Inquisition got into the whole mess. It's almost as if they were specifically set up for that reason...

... God I do not want to click that. And yet I feel compelled.
Ok, is it weird that I'm actually noticing more of the subtlety of his expressions than with the normal model? I think its cus the eyes are so much larger. Its actually kind of fascinating me now?
Also, Hrungr needs to see that video. Hrungr loves nugs.

Since this is the Lavellan central, I figure this is a good place to ask.
I'm trying to decide what my Lavellan is gonna look like. I was thinking dark skin, black vallaslin, purple eyes and dark red lipstick. Do you think that's too much information? Do the colors clash?
