John Epler @eplerjcI will always have a soft spot for any media that uses the 'Dracula calls himself Alucard to throw off vampire hunters' thing in a totally serious way. userFavorite moment when he reveals himself and everybody is just like "whaaaaaat?" to not further enrage the immortal king of vampires. John Epler @eplerjc @eplerjc'Oh, wow, Dracula. Never would've guessed. So you say you turned your name BACKWARDS? I mean, shit, man. Fuck,' ______________________________________ He must be making fun out of that rumor Either that or he watched Hellsing Ultimate recently.

When you realise that all your DA:I saves and screenshots are gone, looks like I'm doing another PT before the next game... My saves don't work too (modding...), but I've thrown them anyway, save some screenshots for reference - I recently upgraded my rig, so I'm already gearing towards replaying the series and admiring high-definition shine on Solas's head on my glorious new screen ... What I hope is that I won't have to replay the games TOO much between now and DA4 release.

Yeah, I updated for Andromeda, I didn't realise I'd miss my screens from DA:I so much, but then they went and threw more Solas at us like the teases that they are, then the theme from Trespasser started dropping into my ears and before I knew it I was thirsty! I'm hoping there are some in this thread....it's maaaany many pages to go through though...

Patrick Weekes said that whether sex happened is completely up to the player's headcanon. So... what did you choose? Did the Dread Wolf rise? I think so, but I imagined both him and Lavellan as demi with strong ace tendencies like me, so it took a while. I also imagined them being rather circumspect about their relationship. I mean, clearly several of the companions noticed there was something going on, since we got comments from them in the game, but I think both my Lavellan and Solas would not have engaged in PDA or been "in your face" about their relationship. So it's really probably just the Inner Circle and Companions who knew anything WAS going on between the Inquisitor and the apostate elf. Solas just didn't seem like the kind of guy who'd be all over you in public - every romance scene we had was just the two of them, far away from everybody else. (Clearly, in private, he is another beast entirely). For my Inquisitor's part, I suspect she not only preferred to not make a big deal of things in public, but probably also felt it was better not to, since she was the Inquisitor - the person everyone was looking up to to save the world. Aside from being reluctant to show 'favoritism' she might also have kept things on the down-low to protect Solas from enemies who might attack him to get to her. (A completely ridiculous notion, in hindsight. Mages who can turn people to stone with a thought don't need protection from a rogue.)

All of my Solasmancing elves had the Dread Wolf Rising. It made sense for them RP wise. Though one of them I imagined only having a single intimate night with him due to shyness. Not saying age means much, but since all my Solas romancing elves had prior life experience - romance or marriage prior - it again, made sense for them. Their age ranges were youngest of 31 and oldest of 44 (and yes, technically BW set the age range from 18-40, I think..., but "I do what I want!" ). I do see how it would be relatively easy to RP as not having sexual intimacy with him, so still a valid way to play.

Oh man, I don't know what I'd do if I lost all my saves. I think everything I have is backed up on Origin, tho. Screenshots are a different matter. I have a bunch up on imgur, but if my HD blew they'd all be *whoosh*. I have 34GB of DA:I pics, most of which are trash shots or duplicates. I don't have that many pics of my own family.

One of my favorite banters is when Sera remarks on their relationship and Solas snipes at her to mind her own business.

To be fair the saves themselves aren't all that important - unless BioWare changes their mind and decides to use save game imports instead of the Keep. The screenshots on the other hand - those would be hard to replicate if they're lost.

I don't know why, but I really got the impression that they were intimate at least once. It can easily go either way, though. I think, like you touched on, it can also come down to how young a player pictures their Inquisitor. Speaking of which, what do you all imagine your Inquisitor's age to be? My canon Lavellan was 31 at the start of the Inquisition.

*snip* Speaking of which, what do you all imagine your Inquisitor's age to be? My canon Lavellan was 31 at the start of the Inquisition. Personally, I have an embarrassingly large number of Inquisitors, and six of them are Solasmancing Lavellans. Two of the six are 40+, and the other four are in their 30's. The youngest Inquisitor I have is one of my Dorianmancers - he sits at 26. Granted, I am 9 months from my 50th birthday, so have been in my forties for all the DA games. Not opposed to playing younger characters, but admittedly relate a bit better to those that have a few more years on them. Besides, had a lot less wiggle room for age in DAO and DA2...and I played them just fine.

My Inquisitor was in her late 20s when she attended the Conclave. By the end of Trespasser she is then in her early 30s.
I myself was 39 going on 40 when DAI was released, and let me tell you, I was so happy to see so many middle-aged characters. JRPGs always seem to focus on teens/ very early 20s characters so it was a refreshing change.
Solas was the second man my Inquisitor ever felt close enough to be attracted 'that way'. The first was one of her best friends who was killed by a Chevalier in his early teens. She was too young to be into sex yet when he died. So, Solas would have been her first intimate partner.

My main is close to 30 at the start. My youngest Inky is around... 25? and oldest somewhere closer to 40. Most hover around 30/mid-30. Age-relatable and all

Same here. I don't know why, but I really got the impression that they were intimate at least once. It can easily go either way, though. I think, like you touched on, it can also come down to how young a player pictures their Inquisitor. Speaking of which, what do you all imagine your Inquisitor's age to be? I see Solas using normal, mundane touch as flirtation and perhaps some word play, especially in battle, but beyond that I see them being a private couple. Inquisitor's lover is never really official - in Dragon Age Keep they are described as paramours, so I figure there's always a level of discretion around the whole relationship, though how far does it go in terms of them being public or how widely it is commented... I think it's one of those things in which we are supposed to fill in the blanks and where a type of character we create and their relationships with the rest of the Inquisition come to play, regardless how many banters and comments we actually hear about them. In case of my main... it wasn't an overt thing, publically, but also it wasn't a secret. I mean, even if it was, at some point some of the more observant companions noticed that their High and Mighty Inquisitor acts like something of a goofball around certain Fade Nerd And vice versa. Coattails have been singed... But at the same time, it wasn't a thing that people pulled much attention to. Aside from some gentle ribbing and things that come up around friends all companions cared about or respected my Inky and thus - entirely aside from not making it a gossip material or due to matters of security - they were protective of that tiny personal space Lavellan and Solas managed to carve out for themselves in that whole mess.

*wave* I'm another over 40 here! I was pretty happy at all the non-twentysomethings available to romance in DA:I, too. As far as my Inquisitors go, my canon Lavellan is 36 at the start of the game, and my mage alt Solasmancing Lavellan is either 25 or 26. It's pretty hard for me to imagine either of them not having boned down with him, since that sort of intimacy is important to both of them. Solas' leaving was more hurtful to my canon Lavellan, since she was looking for someone to bond with again, after being widowed for a few years. My mage, though, was ready to be over him when he showed back up.

I see Solas using normal, mundane touch as flirtation and perhaps some word play, especially in battle, but beyond that I see them being a private couple. This is pretty much the same as my canon Lavellan.
I picture her as being around 23 at the Conclave (26 in Trespasser), as that seems appropriate for her growth and maturity shown throughout the game, having started out relatively idealistic and hopeful at the start of DAI, but becomes far more world-weary by the end of Trespasser. Her relationship with Solas was more about spending time together than being intimate, although they had been together a few times before their relationship ended.
