but i can easily see "Let it Go" play in the background. You have me contemplating making lyrics for that now(and its not even that hard). How dare you.

I amend my statement, its actually hard. Got nothin. Sorry. Aww no worries, we'll just ... um ... let it go? Couldn't help it, sorry not sorry! *runs and hides* On a more serious note *hides again* as I've been listening to songs I've started to wonder just how people come up with lyrics - like what makes those words pop into their heads? It's probably not something I'm creative enough to do.

*clears throat* I present to you, a parody:
The tear glows green o'r the mountains tonight, not a soul to be seen. A kingdom of fade destruction, and it looks like I'm the King. The spirits howling as they transform and collide. Couldn't let it be, Mythal knows I tried.
Let it go, let it go Can't seperate no more. Let it go, let it go. Break the lock, open the door. I don't care if this causes chaos and decay. Let the Fade live on. This world's an abomination anyway.

So Anthem is getting close and I'm actually really excited for two reasons: 1. My friends and I have been looking for a game that we all enjoy playing together and Anthem looks like a good bet for that. 2. OMG we might finally start to get actual DA news and not just a 30 second teaser! I honestly don't know which one I'm the most excited about.

I would like to get the suspense on that point over with sooner rather than later. I don't know how they'd clear it up though, except maybe in an interview? It'd be kind of odd to have a trailer say "You are not playing the inquisitor" if that's the answer. Of course a trailer *could* say *honest trailers guy voice* "The journey begun with the Inquisition... will end here." or some such. But then that's too vague, still, isn't it?
Yeah, no. I need an interview or a tweet, please. I just want to be able to manage my expectations in time to recover from any disappointment before launch.

Just show the protagonist’s left hand somewhere in the trailer. If a prosthetic then it is them, if not then it isn’t. But yeah, the sooner I know if they are or not the sooner I know whether to pay attention to the game at all.

Regardless of whatever Bioware does with the Inquisitor, or allows us to do with them, it still baffles me why you refuse yourself all the myriad possibilities of a new protagonist's story.

Its not hard to understand, even if I myself am not quite that black and white in my stance. Its still a comprehensible position.

Wilson Fisk started as a Spider-Man villain, but is now more associated with Daredevil. Wolverine started as a Hulk antagonist, then moved to the X-Men. In Infinity War, Thanos had meaningful interactions with most of the major heroes, and the heat he built with Thor rivaled the Guardians. If Solas only had one major enemy, i.e. the Inquisitor, he wouldn't be nearly as credible as a world ending antagonist.

I don't think being a 'major enemy' is the issue - the issue here is that they've set up and built relationship between Solas and Inquisitor (whether positive or negative) and clearly made them counterparts in this conflict and it'd be a shame if they didn't capitalize on that or concluded it in a meaningful way.

Even the players just had the hint he'd possessed someone and walked away, without any indication what that might mean in the future or when it would matter. For all we knew pre-DAI, Cory was gonna cameo in a DLC in DA5 while having a tea party with the Architect and ranting about the good old days of the Imperium.
The former Inq knows Solas is out and about, what his goals are, and has vowed to interfere. Its an entirely different scenario.

There any number of ways the writers can create interesting dynamics between Solas and a new hero. I'm good with dual protagonists, I just don't want to be stuck with only Inky's backstory and, choices, abilities and bland personality.

Also, there's no guarantee that a new protag will be any better. At least with Inky, there's the personal history with Solas that makes it interesting.

The Inquisitor is only as bland as you make them to be, we can set up their whole backstory in the Keep and Anchor's removal provides a good reason why their abilities may have changed. And really... realistically there isn't 'a number of ways' to rival 'interesting dynamics' when it took the whole previous game to set one between Inky and Solas, THEN reveal Soals's true identity to THEN ensure that both counterparts are battle-hardened veterans with a shared history (which we had a hand in shaping!). The 'interesting dynamics' would be more of the usual, in fact, if all/most of the previous set up with Inquisitor or Inquisition was ignored.
