Aww, I feel kinda bad for encouraging you to play it now! I hope that in the end the good outweighed the bad! Also, Garrus... I'm curious, which ending did you pick? Myself I totally destroyed the Reapers and got the Shepard gasp-scene, so I felt it was bittersweet. Noh it's fine I really enjoyed the whole series especially ME2 with the lovely Garrus romance he is so cute. Of course the good outweighed the bad but still it hurts. I accidentally chose the wrong "way", I was so paralyzed because of the end that I didn't get what I should do and went straight to "synthesis".. I wanted to reload again but it was too late -.- I wanted to destroy the reaper. I also played some multiplayer to get my military strengh over 5000 ... god damn it. I watched the other videos online.. I mean they are not so different ... the end is a little bit disappointing. Fuck I want turian-human babys or Shakarian with a lot of krogan babys Element Zero I don't know what I like more. DA and ME are different and also very alike in some ways. I was a Paragon and no u can ask me if you want to I am not tearing up again or at least I hope so xD yesterday I cried enough my bf said he has never seen me like that before. not even after the trespasser dlc. Solas thank u it will be alright.. somehow xD Go back and pick the ending you really wanted! I accidentally did the same thing, only I took the "F*ck you"-route instead and saw the whole galaxy succumb to the Reapers... I threw myself on the console's power button in pure horror, restarted and did it again the way I truly had intended.

I threw myself on the console's power button in pure horror, restarted and did it again the way I truly had intended. the problem is my last manual save point is a little bit far away I would have to do a lot of fighting again and the automatic save always overwrites the latest (I played on the xbox 360). at the moment I am too sad and torn .. I can't play it again ^^' not yet. I can't cry again .. I am home alone right now xD I need my bf! maybe in a few days and then of course I'll get the end I want. Alsoooo I want to play it again on pc with mods and everything xD and with english voices. my old xbox games only had the german version on it .. and the synchronisation sucked for my femshepard T_T but yeah I mean .. was i stupid?? this kid explained the three possibilities and I got it. but I didn't see that there was a right and left way ... I mean c'mon they could have explained it better o_O (or maybe I am really stupid...)

Multi-quoting is nigh impossible on this site! I'm just going to call out the threaders that were in the discussion! Element Zero, melbella, midnight tea, and a little bit of @dawnstone! The Veil falling has been alluded to being a huge world-as-we-know-it changing event. Of course only the creators know where it's going for sure-- but that's what makes theorizing so interesting. We grasp at tidbits of information, forming beautiful theories, only to have the creators crush our hopes and dreams! Or be right! That could happen, too! I do think that if the Veil falls it will be at the end of the series, or possibly some time-travel mumbo jumbo, but hopefully not, because time travel gives me a headache! It seems unlikely to me that we'll ever spend much time in a Veil-is-down Thedas. I just think, for as hyped up as this event is, that the developers will not be able to portray it in a way that they want and still make it manageable as a game setting for game mechanics, design, etc. The Veil coming down as an end of the series event seems likely to me because it would allow the series to go out with a bang. What other endings could be thrown out there for a ending that will appease most of the fans? I'm not saying it would always happen, it would be great if the ending was choice effected, and hopefully more choice effected than: Go to the red Eluvian- You permanently set up a boundary that seals the Fade away forever. No longer will magic exist in Thedas, or the corruption that comes with it. Dreaming will one day be a thing of tales. Go to the blue Eluvian- You fix the Veil permanently. The world is as it was before, with spirits and demons at home in the Fade, and the people in the waking world using that magic to their own ends. Mages will still be feared as potential hosts to demons and the Fade still taboo for further research. Go to the green Eluvian- You tear down the Veil, sacrificing many in the initial chaos, but paving the way for a world where magic and spirits are a part of life for everyone. I really shouldn't poke fun at Mass Effect 3's ending-- I haven't played it for myself yet! Well, anywho, it was brought up that Dragon Age could just go on indefinitely, but I don't think that's the case. Unlike regular long spanning game series, BioWare has to integrate choices from previous games into their next ones. I imagine with each passing game this becomes more and more difficult as choices continue to branch of and diverge. They could just ignore previous game decisions and keep information broad or else retcon, but that's bound to get even more fan complaints than they already have about these things. I just don't find it feasible that they'll be able to keep this choice moving from game to game up after a couple more games. Especially if they keep making continent effecting games like Inquisition. The grander the choice in the game, the harder it's going to be to move it into the next and the more disappointed the fans will be about how little it comes to effect. I think Dragon Age, with its multiple protagonists, will have an even harder time than Mass Effect (if they had decided to continue Shepherd's story) because you'll always have fans begging to know what happened to their protagonist from this game, or why this love interest got to cameo, but this one gets no mention, and so on. Realistically, I can't see Dragon Age going past six games at the most, even if they're doing well. They could do an Andromeda and go somewhere where the previous games won't matter, but if the Veil is torn down that should effect everywhere in the world. And honestly, I'd rather BioWare put the effort into a entirely new universe than explore DA's world anymore if the previous games and their stories aren't being taken into account at all.

It's alright, you can always take a bit of a nap to get your energy back, and the wake up and destroy this mockery of the original BSN and bring back the glory of the previous one! Oh, my. Things seem to be escalating. ELVHEN GLORY! None of the other threads' people are even real! WE ARE THE LAST OF THE PEOPLE!

I caved and bought Zubmariner. I am a weak, weak woman. Also where the fuck is Aigul. Multi-quoting is nigh impossible on this site! I'm just going to call out the threaders that were in the discussion! Psst. Click the little gear icon in the corner of whatever post you wanna multi-quote, hit "select post," do it for all the others you wanna reference and then just hit the quote button. They should all be in there.

Well, except that I hate going underwater in games, it freaks me out, and the idea of being stalked underwater makes me want to nope, nope, nope, far away from that game! Okay. Zubmariner is the (hopefully first) DLC pack for the fantastic Sunless Sea, made by Failbetter games. It is brilliant. It's a sort of Lovecraftian/Steampunk roguelike game. Heavy emphasis on storytelling and RPing done mostly through textboxes. 30 years ago, London was stolen underground by bats. It was most inconvenient for everyone.
You play as a zee captain of the Underzee. It's very open world and although you pick an objective at the start of the game you're free to do whatever you want and there's a few hidden ambitions and secret ways to end the game as you play. Zubmariner gives the ability to transform your ship into a sub and dive underwater, opening up new ports and stories (and, of course, new terrfying things for you to deal with). It's made by the same people who made The Last Court for the DA Keep, and BW just hired Alexis Kennedy (one of the founders of Failbetter and former lead writer for TLC, Sunless Sea and Fallen London) as a writer for DA4. The game also has excellent LGBT+ rep, allowing you to choose an appearance, name and mode of address but leaving your captain's gender up to you. The game also features alot of non-binary characters and all the LIs are pansexual. If you want to see if the game's style and humour is for you there's Fallen London (which Sunless Sea is a spin off from) which is a free-to-play browser card with the same playstyle as TLC.

I just wanted to say, don't feel stupid or bad about accidentally choosing the wrong ending in ME3. The first time I played it was before the Extended Cut, so the explanation was briefer and even more confusing. I'd got home from work and spent the next several hours fighting my way across London. I was thoroughly confused by what happened before the conduit portal thing (I felt sure I must have messed up in some way and was being given the fail ending) and by the time I got to decision point, I was as befuddled in my brain as I imagine Shepard must have been. Was puzzled by the colours because I was sure that they must be round the wrong way and then I saw this bright white light that seemed a lot the "vision" shown to me by Liara, so I went towards it, like a moth to a flame. I was not happy with the result. I went to bed and when I woke up I did a do over. Much better.
If they do anything approaching that to wind up the series for DA I shall probably throw a fit. However, I wouldn't object to a resolution like the one to the Krogan storyline (paragon ending). That moved me to tears in a good way and of course Mordin Solus was written by Patrick Weakes. I loved that crazy Salarian.

I loved that crazy Salarian. I'm relieved that others did the same. On my first playthrough, I stayed up late so I was already pretty hazy to begin with, so when I reached the Catalyst I was utterly baffled by the complete change in mood from the Anderson goodbye (which was really emotional for me!). I also played before Extended Cut, and I admit I didn't pay attention to what the Catalyst was saying (I was really, really confused by what was going on). So, I decided to just keep walking forward...further...and further...only to be in complete shock to see my Shepard dive into the beam of light and disintegrate. The ensuing scenes with the green beams of light going through the Mass Relays only added to my confusion. I had no idea what was going on.

I'm not a big fan of those. Representation of underrepresented peoples-- always a plus! This game sounds really interesting and I definitely should check it ou-- *computer laughs maniacally* oh, it's a PC game whyyyyy, so close yet sooo far! My computer would burst into spiteful flames if I tried playing something more complicated than chess on it -.- maybe one day *gazes into the distance* you sound very passionate about it! On a more Solas related note; I was going through some fan comics of Solas when I came across a hilarious one involving Zevran in his crow gear, Fenris with longer hair that was tied back, and Sera. Sera who yelled a lot at Solas and then knocked him out with a super kick I was trying to find it again today and I can't. Any one know what I'm talking about?

There's no ingame purchases for Sunless Sea. Once you own it then it's yours. For Fallen London the game itself is free, but you can sign up as an Exceptional Friend for £5 a month (about $7?) which gets you access to that month's premium story. You can also buy Fate (pretty cheaply) to play older premium stories, and quickly refill actions. Exceptional Friendship also gives you double action points (40 at a time instead of 20. Action points refresh at 1 per 10 minutes instead of TLC's 1 per 20). Certain options in the game are locked with Fate, but these paths are usually routes that guarantee a reward rather than relying on the Random Number God, or combind the reward if your given a choice between Option A and Option B. I would highly recommend playing Fallen London. I started playing it after playing TLC but stopped for some reason. I've signed up again with an Exceptional Friendship and loving every second of it. The underwater stuff isn't too bad. I actually find it very relaxing. The controls are identical to those above water and the art is amazing. Plus, bigger monsters with better rewards. (and Constant Companion, but keep your terror low and you wont even see it.) (of course, it's always there. Lurking. Out of sight.)

Iiiiinteresting.
Well, there's only one 'work' we know PW has - I'm not counting his novel, since he usually specifies when things he tweets about are novel- rather than work-related. So... he's watching "Shaft" for some DA4 related reason - and focuses on this particular scene. I wonder what this may mean for content of DA4?
Obviously we can't know what it is or if the end-product would be in any way similar to what we have here... but I'll risk it and play Far-Fetched Speculations game this evening.
We don't know the context for why and how the scene could be useful for DA lead writer, but this particular scene is very specific - a small court-room drama thingy, where rich, privileged, obviously unrepentant guy avoids justice. I'd say that it's a scenario that I can imagine to happen in two places: it may be either a scene from modern Tevinter OR some sort of memory from ancient Elvenhan. Considering that both the story and characters in it readily compare these nations to one another, the scenario is possible to occur in either one.
Personally however I do think that it's more possible that it's something related to modern times and Tevinter (although I wouldn't be surprised if there were some sort of parallel to what happened in ancient past, since DA writers readily use those) and I kinda wonder if it'd be something where a major NPC would be involved... OR, it'd be an optional scenario for new DA4 PC? Which makes me wonder if origin stories won't be making a comeback, albeit not necessarily in a form people knew from DAO.

Here's a fun thing to do: go underwater with 70+ terror. No, actually don't. You're stalked by a giant spider called Constant Companion. Is that how you get the Constant Companion? I saw the teaser of it before release and I thought it always followed you, but I've never had any trouble keeping terror low so I guess I never saw it. I just thought it was still there but really damn slow. And on the point of expansion packs - Given that they already announced Sunless Skies, I don't think we're getting that Roof expansion pack. Which on one hand, is a shame because it sounded pretty neat. On the other hand, Sunless Skies sounds even neater. On this weird third hand oh god why is that there oh god, Sunless Skies was probably going to come sooner or later, while the decision to skip the Roof and go straight to the sequel means we'll never see what's up there. :\ Why you gotta tease me, FB. Why you gotta tease me like this. Illyria, I'm using you as a test subject! It was successful, unfortunately as I don't know what Zubmariner is I can't contribute to the topic! Well, except that I hate going underwater in games, it freaks me out, and the idea of being stalked underwater makes me want to nope, nope, nope, far away from that game! To add on to what Illyria said - Have you ever played Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker? How'd you feel about the sailing sections in that? If you liked them (Well I did), Sunless Sea might interest you. The writing, music, and atmosphere are neat. The gameplay's kind of... not. It's pretty slow and none of the mechanics are very involved - combat's shallow, success in the text-based gameplay is based almost entirely on random chance, and for most of the game you'll just be drifting along and watching your resources grind down. But, there's lots of neat things to see and explore and flee in terror from. if you like slow-paced games, exploration, and lots of juicy world-building and lore, it's pretty nice. I can't really recommend FL, though. It's Sunless Sea stripped of everything but the awful RNG text choices, and it only lets you take so many actions in a given period of time, so you'll be doing a lot of nothing while you wait for your actions to refill.

Yeah. See. I didn't know Constant Companion existed until the I heard a scritch scritch then GIANT FUCKING SPIDER OUT OF NOWHERE. Thanks Failbetter. If you want to have a satisfying 'ending' before heading onto Sunless Skies I'd recommend doing At Last: Salt's Song/The Exaltation ending. Leaning how to mod the game has really made it less tedious (along with all the new trading options with the DLC). I've rebalanced all the ships, giving them lower weight and more cargo space. I'd disagree about FL. I think it's great, and I actually prefer it to Sunless Sea since it gives far more options. The whole point of it is you play it in little bursts. The higher your stats get the less the RNG is an issue (unless it's a luck based challange. I should not have failed a 50/50 chance so many times) and most cards will come up again and again until you succeed with them if they're part of an ongoing storyline. At first it's very limited, but once you've opened up some of the areas and stories it's so much fun.

wew, bioware forum finally offline, Original Blanketfort finally vanished into the ether. Forums are like Spirits of the Fade. You can try to kill them, but if the idea behind them is strong enough, death cannot hold them and they will reform anew. Like the Avvar with their gods, the Bioware fandom has basically restored the fallen BSN back to life through sheer determination.

Let's take a moment to appreciate the fact that the last words ever said on the BSN were 'dear conal blep mlem mlem' Words that will live in infamy! At least here anyway, since they have now been tossed into the void with every other thing said on the BSN. Rest in Peace BSN, your loss will not be forgotten. I just needed an excuse to post to show off my new avi. A pic of my version of Felassan for my new fic.

Just try not to fall in love or make deep friendships-- it only complicates matters! But on the off-chance you do... Give them a castle. B****es love castles. Yeah, it might soften the blow of your eventual betrayal, too! Lavellan: And you lied to me, oh sorry, omissed. Without you Corypheus wouldn't have tore a hole in the sky and I wouldn't have this mark attempting to kill me. You made me think you broke up with me because of something I did, you messed with Cole when he went weird spirit thing looking for you, you took a bunch of my good equipment. You left me wondering after you for two years, yet you knew what was happening with me because of the spies you have in my Inquisition and the dream stalking I know you've been doing! You used me to your own ends with the Qunari and you-- Solas: *puts finger on Lavellan's lips* Vhenan, remember, I gave you a castle.

Lovecraftian atmosphere and a steampunk setting-- sounds awesome! Emphasis on storytelling, and lots of reading-- my kind of entertainment! Weird background-- you have caught my curiosity Underwater DLC-- noooooooooo, thank you. The Last Court was fun... well as much of it as I played. Are there in game purchases? (and Constant Companion, but keep your terror low and you wont even see it.)
(of course, it's always there. Lurking. Out of sight.)That Constant Companion sounds absolutely lovely. It's Sunless Sea stripped of everything but the awful RNG text choices, and it only lets you take so many actions in a given period of time, so you'll be doing a lot of nothing while you wait for your actions to refill. I have not played that Zelda, but I don't mind being on top of water, in a boat... mostly. I do like showing up my stupid, irrational fears and doing what I rather not do anyway. So, it's quite possible I would play the game, that is if I had a computer that was willing to accept it. Which I don't! Real time waiting games kind of annoy me, too. I'm impatient like that. Though it never bothered me with the war table.
Here's a question: You know how frustrating it is to be behind the screen when a character is arguing with or ranting to your protagonist and all you can do is select a couple lines of dialogue out of a few choices, or sometimes not be able to reply at all? Well, if you could transport your will completely into your character for one conversation with any character, which conversation would it be, and what would you say to them? I think the easy answer might be conversation with Solas in Trespasser, so go ahead and give a second choice, too!

Wishful thinking time: Supposing the Veil does get taken down, and supposing that is the last installment of the Dragon Age series... It might be the beginning of the Reunification Age series (I'm sure they could come up with a better name for it, though.) Earlier decisions, love interests, etc? GONE. They were nullified by or died in the chaos. Problematic game play? Doesn't matter anymore, everything will be new and different. Old God Kieran does say this about Morrigan, after all: "She is the inheritor, she who awaits the next age." He also says: "People fear the next age if it comes too soon." And the whole timeline of the world has been divided into various Ages, after all.
