I never kill the dragons that are out there minding their own business. The one where you have to bait the poor thing out in the middle of nowhere to slaughter it? No way, I feel too guilty about it. I usually find it reasonable for my Inquisitor to kill the dragons that have been attacking townspeople, though. The bones sure do make some great armor and weapons, but I tend to buy out the stock at the Black Emporium before killing one that's just been chilling on a rock for a while lol ... Well I do xD; The dragons usually lose with my Inner Completionist Usually just headcanon that the dragons were a threat or generally a nuisance for whatever reason. It's tough when your inner completionist and the character you've created war against each other. If you're not playing a jerk in Inquisition, with the exception of the slaying of the dragons, I think it's fairly easy to be a completionist and stay in character because of all the choices Dragon Age offers. At least in comparison to a game like Skyrim x) I don't want to eat people, but I reaaally want all the Daedric artifacts for my collection!

The dragon battles are one of the best things about Inquisition and yet story-wise, going out and slaughtering all the dragons in southern Thedas is terrible. This play-through of my canon Inwquisitor, I'm going to try and avoid the urge to get my adrenaline pumping and have a blast slaying dragons because it's out of character for my Lavellan to do so... they are the best fights though... I'm sorry Bull! Does anyone else have this dilemma? I do! So much, all of it I love dragon fights, I hate killing dragons and Iif I don't kill one more often than not, I don't get IB to like me Even so, I usually don't kill any. From time to time I let my bloodiest side run wild and kill every single one, though

Speaking of conflicts between compulsive completionism and RP. I'm not really a compulsive completionist at all, quite the opposite, I do far more fast playthtoughs with the bare minimum of sidequests than anuthing else, but once in a while I try to do a (mostly) completionist one, like I did last time, and I encountered a dilemma even bigger than killing the dragons (this time I did kill them, lot of fun ): the spoils of desecration. What do you there? I ended up doing nothing, but it bothered me a little not being able to complete it :/

I'm sorry Bull! Does anyone else have this dilemma? My Lavellan started off killing dragons because it seemed at first to be a good idea; the Fereldan Frostback, which is the first one she encountered, was plainly eating or at least burning people, and she'd just saved the refugees. She wasn't going to let the dragon eat the people she saved. But as time went on and she learned more about the world, she began to see the error of her ways, and she ended up choosing to leave several dragons be, and freeing Ataashi.

In the case of Trevelyan, she was friends with Solas. But one of the environment comments that gets triggered if he's in your party when you find the graves where Spoils of Desecration is offered is "This place is sacred to my people. Tread lightly here." So she chose not to do that quest out of respect for her friend. In the case of Lavellan, she chose not to do it out of respect for herself and her heritage.

It still didn't make story-sense though, so for future play throughs I tried to resist the urge to break things!

You can actually finish the quests for approval with the dalish, and then come back and destroy those tombs. Completionnist like I usually am, it's what I do. I feel... slightly bad about it, but there's not a close door Lavellan doesn't want to see behind. That damn curiosity. I headcanon that she fixes the tomb once she find the bits of keys lol. Mostly though, it's for completionnist purposes, dame reason I'll usually kill the dragons.

If I don't feel like destroying the tombs or getting the Dalish mad at me, I glitch through the door. You can do it with a mount - just get real close to the door and dismount. If it works, you will be on the inside. You can loot everything, including the mosaic piece, and no enemies spawn. To get out, fast travel. If you click on the door to get out, it will activate the quest. It's also still locked, so you can't get out that way anyway.
So, no tombs destroyed or robbed, so more dead risen, no angry Dalish or companions, and all loot acquired.
I wonder if the Nevarran custom of burying their dead comes from elven practices? Everyone else burns the dead to prevent possession.
Edit to add Solas pic. Not his best look, but it's the only one I have from my current game:

I switch party members to have Vivienne or Bull destroy the tombs, while Lavellan looks the other way... they saw nothing!

I wonder if the Nevarran custom of burying their dead comes from elven practices? Everyone else burns the dead to prevent possession. Welp, the Nevarran practices seem to be somewhat different from Elvhen practices, w ith their tombs which we could mostly compare to stasis pods. On the other hand, the differences may have simply accumulated over time, as they tend to do when it comes to diverging traditions. However... from what I've read about their traditions, it'd seem that Nevarran beliefs are quite unique, and stem from an idea preached by some Tevene scholar or whatever, way after Nevarra got established as city-state. Considering that Tevinter is built on bones of Elvenhan, it is possible that the guy got his idea while studying Elvhen traditions, but so far we know nothing of elves believing that a soul of the deceased passing through Fade displaces the spirit and hence preserved bodies become houses for it. The idea itself has interesting implications, but it's nothing that got expanded upon so far... What I do find more intriguing though is the fact that Nevarra is supposed to resemble Egypt and is choke-full of pyramids (below is an image from WoT 2): ... And we do know of other Egypt-inspired place that has mysterious pyramids: Par Vollen ruins, which were supposedly built by ancient humans. Interestingly enough, although Nevarran pyramids appear to be built specifically to be tombs, it's noted that Par Vollen pyramids aren't, even though they contain carefully preserved bodies. Honestly, at this point I don't know what to think about it. We may simply have too little material to work with at this point.

A friendly spirit dropped that tile on my lap! (Also nooo, I didn't kill that dragon - I just chased him away! She simply left a few teeth and maybe half a tail behind.)"

That could be explained with population control Or, alternatively, hunting herds affected by rifts, not just caught in the middle of closing one - Helisma did make some research that suggested that raw Fade from rifts had negative effects on fauna and flora
