Aloth sort of is like how I imagine a younger version of Solas would have been like. They both would, in floaty, metaphorical prose, tell people they dislike to have incestuous sex of some sort. But, pphfft, as if a crossover would ever happen, that would take a serious level of dedication to create faithfully, like the portrait, creating the character, class and whatnot. Just simply datamining audio files, extracting them from the game, converting them into the correct format and renaming them so they actually work would take at the very least two full nights to do. And absolutely not something that I ever did...

Bah! Valentines Day! ... If Solas did that with his brows for realsies I'd be so freaked out. He wouldn't need a terrible wolf fursona to scare people, he'd just... do that. Also, he'd be known as The One With Wandering Eyebrows.

I somehow managed to get an excruciatingly weird air-kiss scene with my dwarven inquisitor in the Fade. I don't know how. It was hilarious.
I was totally going to romance someone I hadn't romanced before, this time, but I'm strangely tempted to go with it instead. Solas, you beautiful bastard...

Okay, here's one thing that intrigues me... we talked more than once about potential return of Calpernia - how we've never really saw her die and how her future fate is unknown.
But here's the thing - we also never saw Samson die. In fact it's made abundantly clear that we can't execute him after we bring him to Skyhold for judgement. He does state that 'the red lyrium will steal their vengeance', but as of end of Inqusition that didn't yet happen.
I wonder if that means if we could potentially see Samson return? Though I struggle to see what role he could play - we have more of an idea what Calpernia could do or be, but no Samson. So... any ideas?
(also - I've only recently found out that Dorian Greatly Approves if we allow Calpernia to live.... kinda wonder if this is supposed to be some sort of sneaky hint, like in case of Cole's approval of Lavellan trying to save Solas???)

It does seem they definitely left the door open for both characters to return. They are going to have to find a cure for this nasty Blight business... perhaps they'll involve Samson?

I have a feeling that we may find a lot more about the Blight in future installment - I'm not so sure about the cure tho. I mean, even Solas is really afraid of the Blight. IMO the Blight itself is sort of being built up as something to be dealt with at the very end overarching storyline... not sure if I'd call it The Main Baddie Of The Series, given that I personally expect at least a couple of interesting surprises even in case of something as 'evil' and corruptible as the Blight, but I don't think it'd be a thing that is dealt with easily or quickly. There's one thing that *could* potentially be either dealt with or at least way more explored in the future though - the red lyrium. We know that in the end the Blight is the cause, but the red lyrium itself is a new (or newly rediscovered), and rather mysterious occurrence on Thedas that provides more questions than answers as of end of DAI. It probably doesn't infest the landscape in as quick of a rate as it did when Corypheus spurred its growth, but it remains a problem - the Gallows in Kirkwall are still overgrown by it, and the cover of new comic suggests that we're going to see more red lyrium in stories that happen past events in Inquisition (the base game at least).

I tend to agree, the Blight is introduced as the big bad mystery, which is made even more mysterious with Descent, Red Lyrium and Trespasser - well Inquistion and its DLC's. They dive straight at the Golden City (Corypheus) and the Fade (Solas) and red lyrium (by telling us more about regular lyrium then hey! red lyrium is the blight on this lifeblood of Titans yay!) and with all these revelations things get clearer that things are definitely not as they were presented to us at the beginning. Though was it just me or did Trespasser seem to downplay the red lyrium problem... as in it's not really mentioned. Eh Speaking of Solas and the Blight - I wonder what his plans are for solving this problem after the Veil is bye-bye.

Eh It wasn't mentioned plainly because not only it's not directly tied to things in Trespasser - there was simply no space for it. Because if you really think about it, there's a craaaaazy amount of stuff happening in Trespasser for the amount of hours we play - there's Exalted Council and politicking that comes with it, there's the whole Qunari assassination plot we unravel, there's hopping through eluvian and not only learning about Elvenhan, but also details of what's led to its destruction AND finding out the truth about Fen'Harel and his rebellion. In fact, this was specifically addressed by Patrick Weekes and John Epler in their GDC talk when they're talking about adding another element to Trespasser storyline. Welp, I wouldn't be surprised that the main - or one of the reasons - why he's getting rid of the Veil is to gain some means to deal with the Blight in the first place.

I'm pretty certain that either the Blight or red lyrium, or both, are the reason that Solas thinks he has no choice but to drop the Veil and cleanse the world with the fires of chaos. Something was locked away behind magical seals that had the ancient elves terrified, and the voice says "What the Evanuris in their greed could unleash would end us all". Solas also says that his only option was to imprison the Evanuris because otherwise they would have destroyed the world. Corypheus says they didn't bring the darkness but merely discovered it. Then we also discover that lyrium, thought by the Chantry to be the essence of creation, is in fact an organic substance that can be infected with the Blight, turning it into red lyrium. So long as red lyrium was locked away in the depths it couldn't do any real damage but now it has been released and can grow on anything living, even the smallest creatures in the earth.
I think "saving his people" amounted more than just overthrowing the current political order or bringing back his magical world of crystal walkways and prismatic towers. Once again he feels that "every alternative is worse" because the world is blighted and it is only going to spread. So Samson could be important to the future plot in trying to find a way to end the Blight infection, just as the discovery of the Titan could also be important. Let us not forget that the Hero of Ferelden was also off on their own personal quest to find a cure for the Blight and we are told that dragons are particularly resistant to its effects. Yavana also seemed to think the blood of the dragons was important to the future of mankind. Add all these things together and it seems the Blight is going to be the key to everything.
